1968 Ford Bronco - Frame Up Patina Restoration, But Not By Choice. Tentative Build Run Down.

- I’m not sure people read this part but, here’s the plan. I’ve acquired a 1968 Ford Bronco, it was in pieces when I got it, frame off and all. So I’ve been working on getting the frame ready for paint. I’m thinking 2.5” lift, uncut fenders, 31-33” tires, and I’m not touching the exterior paint. Everything else will be new again. Or as good as I can make it. Ford Explorer swap? Any ideas throw them my way. I’ll show my mistakes, and hope others can learn from them.

Nice work mate, look forward to hearing the 🐘and seeing the new build come along.
As long as there are heavy things to lift mate, I’ll be there 😆
Wowee Project Right Way! Your welds are brilliant! You've come a long way man. I have a good feeling about the Bronc. Keep up the good work!
Those are only the good ones 😆 Thanks bro, I’ve got plenty of irons in the fire. But why not, it’s a good problem to have.
Fantastic, love your channel, wish you the best! 👍👏👏👏🤩
Thanks so much Mathias.
I’m not not a Ford guy but love the content!
My first two vehicles, a 1972 FJ55 and a 1969 Ford Bronco. I’ve been hooked since I was old enough to drive.
Good to see you back on the interwebz!
Thanks bubba!
Love to see the new videos.... and btw "they do read this part"!
Thank you! I write that part every time thinking people just skip it 😆
So good to see you back buddy!
Good to be chipping at it again.
Your welding is lookin good there Ben, well done mate.
Getting there. Just need to practice more.
I restored my 68 from the ground up! I have a few vids on here if it before and after! Good luck!
Can you post a link to you page?
Rachael’s chin up on the frame😂💪🏽 Love this build already!
Already started with the shenanigans
Cool project!
Not as cool as that white machine in your photo…
Good to see you back on the utoobz. Can't wait to see your build.
Can’t wait to show the work, good and bad baby!
Super stoked for the Bronco Edition of Wrong Way! You might want to consider the James Duff T-Rex arms to clear 31" tires full lock to lock turning. Might even be able to clear 33's with the 2.5" lift. The Bronco community is behind you for moral support:)
You’ll never guess what I found on Facebook Market Place!!!!!
Going to need weekly content on this! Motivates me on my 77!
Yessir! Motivation is the goal.
Subbed! I follow you on IG but didn't know you had a TH-cam! I, too, like Broncos and Toyotas/Landcruisers 😎
Man! Totally appreciate the follow.
I've used Superduty shock towers on an FJ40 also, my neighbor is using them on a scout also
They’re so cheap, and easy to install.
He's back!!!
And worse than ever lol 😆
This should be fun. I really like the old Broncos. I personally don’t have time for anything else other than my Land Cruiser so I’ll live through your shenanigans.
I’ll do my best buddy, because it’s the best way to look after the planet. Building old 4x4’s to drive again is a thousand time better than driving a Tesla!
Project best wife commences! #shecanworkastick
It’s one of her many strengths 😆
I’m excited to see you starting a new project!
Thanks man, still waiting for that magic sub blow up!
I've done a Bronco a 1975 it was really fun but I'm 6-4 and did'nt fit so well. The only thing I didn't care for was not a lot of room under the hood. Makes stuff like putting power brakes a pain. One good thing Bronco prices are hot as hell good money maker.
I’m hoping I don’t have that issue, at 6’ I think I’ll be fine honestly. Besides, Rachael is going to be behind the wheel of this one most of the time.
Heck ya!!! I’ve been waiting to see what you do with that bronco! But is that the 60 you got from Texas?!?! Oh no!!!!!
No! Its a donor machine…
you bought it, the frame was full of nuts. you finish it, the truck will be full of nuts.
Yes. All of this.
So great to have you guys back. I almost bought a bronco a few years ago for a resto. But came to my senses bc my fj40 was still not done. Going to be a great series to watch just like your fj40 series was. Thx....
They’re both magic boxes man. Amazing 4x4’s, in an era when they were made for bashing and looked good too.
So great to see you both back for another build series! As someone once told me… the reason why things go wrong is to make it more interesting for you (in the case us)!
I can’t do a project without showing the struggles, it wouldn’t be me.
Having 50% less leaf springs should make your life 75% easier. Leaf spring jokes are all I've got. But you know that already...
You definitely get me. I struggle so hard with leafs…
I’ve been looking at FJ55s. It seems like the logical next step from an FJ40. I’ll still tune in for the comedy. Good luck.
I’ll be posting more cruiser vids too. It’s consistent with my ADD to have multiple projects failing at once.
@@projectwrongway9127 Sad but hilarious.
That’s a perfect description of the show 😆
Awesome to have y’all back. Can’t wait for the sweating, elephant noises and Rachel’s wisdom. And oh yeah the end result!
Good to be back, the idea is to stay consistent baby!
Nice to see you guys back for another mid-life crisis project! That patina is going to be mint!
Right?! I’d be a fool to touch that exterior paint.
95+ 5.8 L truck or van engine. Full roller with one piece rear main. E4OD fron F-150 4x4 and also steal transfer case. Holley EFI. Done.
Keep the advice coming, that’s some good feedback but I can’t get over the Explorer Swap…
@@projectwrongway9127 those were great when the salvage yards were full of them but now they are all old and questionable. plus the gt-40p head spark plug angles screw you on headers.
No kidding? That’s definitely something I’ll have to figure out then. Luckily I’m a ways out, but again thanks for the feedback man.
Looks like a great project. I thought really hard about getting a ‘66 last year. If my 40 was completed I probably would have made an offer. It was a one owner mostly original - had a 302 poorly swapped into it.
They’re a special machine, definitely worth the money if you can find one off the internet…
As a FJ40 owner, all I can say is... Traitor. Also, I'm excited to see this play out. It's great you're making content again.
Bro, you can’t deny the beauty of the early broncos… and there’s plenty more videos to come (landcruiser too).
@@projectwrongway9127 100 percent. The early broncos are amazing looking, for sure.
I'd own one (or 10) if the purchasing department would allow it...
Just snagged the one I have, or I wouldn’t have one!
Dude, what happenned to your FJ 60? Did it catch on fire? It looked pretty good when you were roadtripping it.
No worries, that’s an additional 60 I snagged for parts…
I don't understand how you get anything done with all the fist to hand bumping going on!!
I find the time. And hydrate.
Hilarious! I'm sure we'd get along just fine at Rubithon. I can't make it this year. But if you go make sure and meet Mark from Metal Tech, good buddy. I worked for him making cages back in the early days of Metal Tech.. Brian in Oregon
I can’t make it either man, but I’d like to for sure. I was thinking of trying to just head up to the Rubicon for my own trip, grab some buddies. What part of Oregon? Close to CA?
