Did I just witness the peak of Jujutsu Kaisen!? Animators are fuckin insane. How can they even think of cooking a cinematic masterpiece like this in that horrible ass mappa schedule!! They have my utmost respect.
The cool thing is that if you rewatch JJK there's been a lot of foreshadowing for Mahoraga. The hand signs (both arms in front with fist) have appeared in different Megumi fights. 1- Back in the first episode when Sukuna first appears and Megumi decides to exorcize him we can see him use the signs just before Gojo appears. 2. Episode 4 or 5 when Sukuna appears for the second time Megumi is also ready to summon Mahoraga just before Yuji regains control and kills himself. 3. Episode 22 or 23. When Megumi fights the finger curse, he also is ready to summon him, he actually begins the incantation just before he has a change of mind and decides to fight with his domain. 4. Just the past episode before Toji regains control and kills himself. Remember that through the first season Gojo critiques Megumi about never trying hard enough because if push comes to shove, he can always sumomon his "triumph card", taking his enemy down along with himself. We finally see what that triumph card is.
When Megumi and Maki were fighting Hanami too. Megumi got the bud in stomach and Hanami was holding Maki. Megumi was ready to start the ritual there too. But Maki stopped him because Todo and Yuji arrived.
Even more astonishing when you realise it's a suicide move. Had it not been for Sukuna, Megumi would have died. The only other person who could have saved him is Gojo (and only if he could have got him to Ieiri in time, because he can't use his RCT on someone else)

Shibuya couldn't have a movie that would fit the average movie length unless they decided to cut a lot in it. It needed it's own season but with proper DEVELOPMENT time! MAPPA executives are just trying to milk every popular show that they can get their hands on and that is causing a suffering in quality. Shibuya deserved a better adaptation and the animators too believe it since they are literally giving their all to give us this insane quality in such bad scheduling. JJK's staff are so angry with Mappa that they put an inside joke in the scene where Mahoraga destroys one of the buildings, where one of them looks exactly like the studio from the inside "the reception from the team was very good"😂
When Yuji was having the panic attack, in the manga he recalled the words his grandpa told him before he died. They put them at the beginning of the episode first, here, however. He was freaking out but upon remembering his grandpa's words he composed himself to keep on fighting. Some people speculate that those words cursed Yuji, that they compel him to keep on fighting to help others regardless of the state he's in. Also, some mathematical estimations on the population of Shibuya and the radius of Sukuna's attack led to the amount of victims affected by Malevolent Shrine to be about 1K, without taking into account the extra influx of people due to Halloween. So Sukuna easily killed almost 1.3K people at least. Yuji was never really the same after this.

Nic is probably one of the most honest and straight forward persons that I know in the anime reaction scene and the way he handles stuff with all the mappa stuff is really good and i would say is the best way and i support him and the animators coz there are employees and not labors

Thie animation, visual style, dialgoue, ost, transitions, aesthetic, and just the integration of everything makes this episode immaculate/impeccable, spectacular, phenomenal, incredible, sublime, and hype. This is beyond PEAK of Jujustu Kaisen, probably my fav new gen anime and currently anime of the year for me right as a ultimate contender.

Now that the GOAT mahoraga (or Makora ig) has been revealed, here are all the times Megumi tried to summon it in season 1, effectively almost committing suicide: 1. In the very beginning of the show when we’re introduced to yuji and he eats Sukunas finger and Sukuna is in control for a couple seconds. Megumi is about to summon Mahoraga but stops the summon when Gojo arrives. 2. The next occasion is in ep 5 iirc when Sukuna takes out Yujis heart to hold him hostage and Megumi is forced to fight Sukuna. Sukuna notices Megumi is about to summon something crazy and encourages him to do it since he wants to see it. I could be wrong but I think this is why yuji decided to take over and kill himself, because he knew Megumi was about to commit suicide. 3. Third, when Hanami invaded the exchange event, Megumi and Kamo fight Hanami but aren’t doing much damage so Megumi decided to bring out Maho, but Inumaki stops him. 4. Again, also at the exchange event against Hanami 💀 this time Maki stops him and they tag out and let Yuji and Todo fight Hanami instead. 5. The last time is toward the end of the season, when the main trio were fighting the special grade finger bearer curse and Chosos brothers under the bridge. Megumi is split up from the other two and is fighting a special grade on his own and losing. He almost summons Maho but has a flashback to his training with Gojo and remembers what he was told. “Dying to win, and winning by dying aren’t the same” (or something like that idk). He stops his summon and tries his domain for the first time.

Megumi’s shikigamis resemble animals and their abilities. Mahoraga resembles the most powerful animal that has the ability to adapt and overcome anything: The human.
Watching this episode I could feel the pain of Mappa employees having to animate this, so I think the best we can do is enjoy it as much as we can and hope that they get a raise and some vacations, cause this was crazy 💀
MAPPAs ability to have the most beloved animation staff but also be the most hated company is just ridiculous. Yeah, sadly the animation wasn't polished which makes me so mad, because mappa loses quality in all of their anime at some points, just because they treat their animators poorly. Still, this episode was absolutely incredible.
Here's the thing that is pissing me off like crazy. Where was all this concern for animators health when almost every single studio was pushing unhealthy working conditions? Naruto's director dying by working for 18 hours straight for days, a1 pics animators having health issues, studio trigger rushing production for a movie which took 6months, WIT studios animators quitting cuz of harsh schedule deadlines from kodansha, etc. If we are talking about toxic working conditions, why does only MAPPA gets targeted and not the entire industry in Japan, whether it be the production committees for pushing out hellish schedule for studios, studios not caring for animators, paygap crisis,etc. We are just overlooking the main issue with this whole "F MAPPA" rant. If we are already vocal about it, why not be more vocal about the industry in general? Why not get vocal about Hollywood that is pushing even worse conditions for vfx companies and animators? So many westerners are ignoring their own country because it wouldn't bring them views? Which is why having "my message to Mappa" type videos is more profitable than having the whole industry included. Even when people are blaming MAPPA, they dont go into the full details of why its so bad. Jjk 0 was made in 4 months cuz the committee wanted the movie released right after s1 was over. The usage of SPECIAL Z(the opening song) is perfect for numerous reason. first, it hits hard more if we understand japanese because of it's lyrics. And this scene is mockery of Sukuna to yuji hence, this song. POV of Sukuna The first verse literally translated to "Enjoy the moment, let's dance On the frontline of Tokyo, the thriving city Struggle on the verge of giving up Show me your fearless side" It's Sukuna mocking yuji through the music. And the vibe is different since it's sukuna's feelings not yuji's. Mockery as it's finest, not only the scene itself but the vibe of the music too. Pure genius! in this scene we felt like, "We have been ROBBED of something special" (because it's different to what we expect) But guess what? What's did Yuji feel in that moment too? he also felt ROBBED of something special too(people's lives, as grandpa said to him) We were immersed and engaged with the music that we also felt what Yuji felt, sad, hurt, frustrated, and disappointed at the same time. The music choice is so effective that we are affected (in different way) In conclusion, the music fits and it served it's purpose and intentions. In the end "it was really f*k'd up moment" both the story and use of music. JUST PERFECT I could see this as if you feel Sad, frustrated disappointed= you're on Yuji's POV/Side If you start laughing, smirk in this scene = you're on sukuna's POV/side

Shibuya deserved a better adaptation and the animators too believe it since they are literally giving their all to give us this insane quality in such bad scheduling. It's just that higher-ups don't see it because.... money's rolling in no matter how it's adapted because JJK is hype
A MAPPA Animator used his own office to model the destruction of Shibuya. That means that he was able to use the show to DISMANTLE upper management, both literally and figuratively after they quit. Well done and bravo.

When Yuji was having the panic attack, in the manga he recalled the words his grandpa told him before he died. They put them at the beginning of the episode first, here, however.
He was freaking out but upon remembering his grandpa's words he composed himself to keep on fighting. Some people speculate that those words cursed Yuji, that they compel him to keep on fighting to help others regardless of the state he's in.
Also, some mathematical estimations on the population of Shibuya and the radius of Sukuna's attack led to the amount of victims affected by Malevolent Shrine to be about 1K, without taking into account the extra influx of people due to Halloween. So Sukuna easily killed almost 1.3K people at least. Yuji was never really the same after this.

Nic is probably one of the most honest and straight forward persons that I know in the anime reaction scene and the way he handles stuff with all the mappa stuff is really good and i would say is the best way and i support him and the animators coz there are employees and not labors

Thie animation, visual style, dialgoue, ost, transitions, aesthetic, and just the integration of everything makes this episode immaculate/impeccable, spectacular, phenomenal, incredible, sublime, and hype. This is beyond PEAK of Jujustu Kaisen, probably my fav new gen anime and currently anime of the year for me right as a ultimate contender.
Trust me I am SHAKING and my heart is beating so FAST. I never feel like this when watching an anime. I ran IMMEDIATELY to watch this episode's reaction after finished watching. It's like I want to see if others feel the same as I am feeling right now. I can't explain how this EXCITEMENT felt. Guy's this is LEGENDARY. Without using WEAPONS or moves though lights they show pure straight and POWER in such a way that makes us feel every scene. I can't clam myself. It's so OVERWHELMING and i FREAKING love JJK.

Now that the GOAT mahoraga (or Makora ig) has been revealed, here are all the times Megumi tried to summon it in season 1, effectively almost committing suicide:
1. In the very beginning of the show when we’re introduced to yuji and he eats Sukunas finger and Sukuna is in control for a couple seconds. Megumi is about to summon Mahoraga but stops the summon when Gojo arrives.
2. The next occasion is in ep 5 iirc when Sukuna takes out Yujis heart to hold him hostage and Megumi is forced to fight Sukuna. Sukuna notices Megumi is about to summon something crazy and encourages him to do it since he wants to see it. I could be wrong but I think this is why yuji decided to take over and kill himself, because he knew Megumi was about to commit suicide.
3. Third, when Hanami invaded the exchange event, Megumi and Kamo fight Hanami but aren’t doing much damage so Megumi decided to bring out Maho, but Inumaki stops him.
4. Again, also at the exchange event against Hanami 💀 this time Maki stops him and they tag out and let Yuji and Todo fight Hanami instead.
5. The last time is toward the end of the season, when the main trio were fighting the special grade finger bearer curse and Chosos brothers under the bridge. Megumi is split up from the other two and is fighting a special grade on his own and losing. He almost summons Maho but has a flashback to his training with Gojo and remembers what he was told. “Dying to win, and winning by dying aren’t the same” (or something like that idk). He stops his summon and tries his domain for the first time.

Here's the thing that is pissing me off like crazy. Where was all this concern for animators health when almost every single studio was pushing unhealthy working conditions? Naruto's director dying by working for 18 hours straight for days, a1 pics animators having health issues, studio trigger rushing production for a movie which took 6months, WIT studios animators quitting cuz of harsh schedule deadlines from kodansha, etc. If we are talking about toxic working conditions, why does only MAPPA gets targeted and not the entire industry in Japan, whether it be the production committees for pushing out hellish schedule for studios, studios not caring for animators, paygap crisis,etc. We are just overlooking the main issue with this whole "F MAPPA" rant. If we are already vocal about it, why not be more vocal about the industry in general? Why not get vocal about Hollywood that is pushing even worse conditions for vfx companies and animators? So many westerners are ignoring their own country because it wouldn't bring them views? Which is why having "my message to Mappa" type videos is more profitable than having the whole industry included. It's Sukuna mocking yuji through the music. And the vibe is different since it's sukuna's feelings not yuji's. Mockery as it's finest, not only the scene itself but the vibe of the music too. Pure genius!
