I've grown to enjoy the new warcries but think they have room for improvement, especially when you need to run multiple of them. First they should not exert travel skills by default, and invert the one warcry mastery to read "warcies can exert travel skills" instead of "warcries cannot exert travel skills". Additionally, auto-exertion should have an active component. It should reserve 10% mana per linked warcry, and when you cast the active portion it will trigger all linked warcries; granting the buffs/exerts of each one based on nearby enemy power. That way you would really help feel the PUNCH after gaining multiple warcry buffs+exerts at once.
Playing this one with berserker and TripolarBear pob (before he changed to apple slammer) and having a blast. I dropped Kaom's Command early and used it for a long time, changing later to a rare armour base with good/eldritch modifiers. Blasting t16s and their bosses without much difficulty, after around 15~20 div invested, feeling good with the build!
The fact there are several ascendancies (3+) which all compete for most optimized for melee slam build style says how well GGG nailed the buffing of melee and reworking of ascendancies. Just bit of a shame Tukohama node is hidden behind Hinekora or Sione nodes for Chieftain.
The recent changes seemed to be a boon for the playstyle I had some years ago. Was on break from the game and wanted to give it a try again after reading the buffs and PoE2 being so close. What I like to run is a Flicker Strike + Holy Relic Necromancer, and running Tempest Shield with 80% attack block/78% spell block makes it fun to dive into packs of enemies and start pulsing them down with the relics. All the while they get zapped by my blocks and Static Strike aftereffects. I used to run Reckoning as well, but that was apparently removed and replaced by Retaliation skills which feel a bit awkward to use. I don't have as much health as I would like, but running Steelskin and Automation with More Duration has done me good for increased durability on the fly. I also slot in an offering to benefit from the duration gem since I get the ascendancy node that lets it buff me as well. Overall a really cheap and enjoyable build archetype. Would definitely recommend.
Went banners/vaal smite champ. Linger banner effect with champs refund valour feels great to play. Never drop stacks and combo with valour on warcry even inside banners AoE. Crushing fist is nice additional damage.
it is also possible to run vaal slam jugg after buff. Its possible to get full screen kill in a lot of content if your attack speed is below soul gain prevention duration.
Oddly I haven't really heard anyone talking about Uul-Netal's Kiss, which doubles the damage of exerted attacks (on top of the doubling from intimidating cry). It's cheap as chips and according to my POB it's on par with the full DPS of the end game rares in most of the build guides I've seen. The -15% to attack speed is rough, but it can be worked around.
It's a very good budget option that competes with an approx 1000 phys dps axe, for way cheaper. BUT, and this is a big but, it's super slow which can be uncomfortable and get you killed between attacks. For me it doesn't have a role here because I would prefer a fast low DPS axe until I can afford an 1100-1200 DPS axe, which is when im tanky enough to handle the slower speed.
I'm not sure if PoB is unable to calculate the 200% damage but this only gives me about 4% increase in dps and I'm using a rare vaal axe with 793 end damage.
Hey, i would suggest you check out woolie juggernaut slammer. He made new video and as he said he only has 1 warcry he manually presses, so i think it could be better for you
You can automate all or all but one of your warcries if you need to, you may have to sacrifice a little bit of power as is generally the case to automate things, like dropping blood and sand perhaps or getting a bit more reservation reduction.
Kaom's Command is cool, but I just can't give up my 75% more damage from Echoes of Creation + 5x Autoexerts. Sure, three of those exerts don't actually do anything for me, but I was already running Overexertion, so...
How is the self-damage from echoes? I autoexert 4 warcries + 1 manual one... Do you sustain with life per second or if there are no monsters around you just kill yourself? If you take a big hit will it kill you warcrying at low hp?
Jugg covers tankiness, especially if you get a good amount of armor on your gear and stack max resistance and your endurance charges. Sustain is moderate but you can get a LOT more if you get the leech attack speed cluster and pickup the 10% instant leech mastery, I'm using that right now and it's very good sustain.
@@kjetildg Im pressing 5 warcies manually, 3 banners and a movement skill (frostblink). Pianoing warcries on QWERT, banners on ASD and frostblink on side mouse button. I used to have phase run on right click but now have a perma-phasing watchers eye. Some of us are just built different :P
The combust is mostly fine but if manually buffing the added fire may kill you to ele reflect without brutality, yeah. Brutality is generally a must-have on phys damage setups at least. Be a lil careful with big combusts on very dense packs with the cannot die aura - that can hurt.
When you warcry you get X uses (lets say, 6 from rallying cry), after that, you next 6 swings will 'exert' those warcry uses, adding the 'exerted attacks do X' to each of those attacks. You can use all warcries at once and exert them all at once with you next attacks, taking in consideration that some only exert your next 2 attacks only, like intimidating shout which I think its the one that makes your exerted attacks do double damage. You can pretty much read 'exert' as 'buffs your next X attacks with this pretty buff from a warcry'. The warcry icon on your bar will show how many attacks you have left that will be exerted by it. You can spec to have more attacks exerted, or on reduced CD on warcrys, or both, to sustain all your attacks with said warcry buffs.
why do you path top from marauder area and take 2 10 str nodes instead of pathing from the bottom for the two str nodes in front of blood magic? its both 2x10str but bottom is in the radius of your timeless jewel
He could also connect the way you wrote, keep the 2 str nodes in the top part an take the small life/armour node. This way he can remover 3 tarvelnodes. Same points for more life/armour and more points in jewel radius
I'm not really happy with it and probably never gonna play melee ever in this game. It will never work, the problem is that you have to invest too much in defense and you'll always get one-shot no matter what and the only way to avoid that is not be in melee
I had that feeling too. With the reworks I find that Armour is worth a lot less and isn't protecting as much as before, plus we can shift phys damage anymore so you need a lot more armour now to feel a tiny bit more protected. I have added a Purity of Elements to my build and a lot of mana reservation, until I can get ailment immunity, those ignites and shocks were killers. Now I die a lot less. Chaos is still painful for me, so that is the next point i will work on. Basically my advice is to take a look at your defenses, see what you could upgrade in resistances/ailments/chaos, eventually modify your tree to grab nodes that aren't in the guide you are following but can help you survive until you get better gear, and stay in lower levels maps until you can afford that gear.
@saskiawillems9435 exactly. I am at 90% all res, 75 chaps, 8 endurance charges, 30% life regen, Doppleganger, Arctic Armour and still get 1 shot out of the blue 2 times per map.
@rafakal9823 totally different build concepts and playstyle. Trade league is about rushing forward ans farming content fast, not sitting around analysing what the mods are and how to attack em.
Does not feel slow nor clunky, you ground slam and almost everything dies with one hit :) also, the area is considerably, maybe bigger than it looks, and with a good weapon base, you can achieve a good attack speed also.
Strong disagree with how much praise melee is getting here. It's still miles away from bows and spells. Yes, melee is better than it was, but a generic LA deadeye is still more profitable/efficient than 99% melee builds. Melee is still not good enough to be worth considering outside of the desire to be quirky.
And casting Ranged Magic trivializes the Darksouls franchise but people still run around with a sword. People play to have fun. You don't have to be the best to have fun.

I've definitely thought about how weird it is that exert works on travel skills by default and not the other way around!
Not a fan of your second suggestion, but I agree with the first. They shouldn't be exerting travel skills by default.

Remove Ailments Warcry Mastery does work with autoexertion. It is only the recover Mastery that only works on manual cast.
