@Mr. Spaghetti So then you should acknowledge that there's parts of our culture that aren't ideal. But the notion that we should cast them all away simply because theyre nothing more than "social constructs" is a dangerous line of reasoning. Us humans sure aren't perfect but it's irrefutable that we are progressing as a whole.

What a great observation on this topic. This also makes a great piece of advice for people who are dealing with depression or excessive self-judgment. And in my opinion, it all comes down to the lack of self-love which prevents us to forgive ourselves or to accept our innocence, even in those moments when we've done no serious harm to anyone or anything. Great speech!

  • @Charlie_Crown
    @Charlie_Crown 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Lost for words, how brilliant is he. A lot of people struggle to put a name on, or pinpoint, an issue, especially during a debate, or an argument. He hits the nail on the head, he can put it into words and suddenly you realise 'that's why I feel that way' now I understand why. Of course understanding, or realising something is only a start, you then have to work at the issue, all good stuff 👍

Jordan, I financially made a donation on your website and will continue to do so monthly. The importance of free speech and having open true discussions on these major topics is paramount to everyone in society today. Your greatest impact appears to be when you most calmly and peacefully respond to those who choose not to listen to your carefully selected and precisely meaningful words and/or wish to “attack” or “smear” you based upon an obvious or hidden agenda (read alt left). Their anger and resentment is eloquently turned against them. Keep letting the sunlight of clear intelligent thought and data without bias provide clarity to these complex problems. Your organic popularity clearly demonstrates the need by populations searching for true authentic discussions on these major topics. Well done. Thank you.

I always remembered this point you meant and have used it a few times in discussion. Thanks for articulating what we've always know to be true! =)
I think part of why we are also so quick to condemn ourselves is because we think that we deserve what is coming for us regardless of why they are coming for us because of our terrible evil that contributes in all other areas of our lives. Just like the other highlight you made with regard to the evil we play with which puts the worth of our lives into question.
I guess this is why I asked the question about the psychological significance of the personal God. Mainly one that is Goodness in essence, understands everything about you, Loves you infinitely and deems you infinitely valuable in your very nature while creating a solution for all your evil.

    • @thegeneralist7527

Deep. Good vs. Evil. Free will. If God is good and we believe in God, does that make us inherently good? If you sin and repent, does that make you "good" again? The sin still exists, but can you be truly and fully absolved? Why and how is the human brain "wired" like this? Why did we evolve this way? There is an answer, something at the heart of AI, deep learning neural networks, and neurochemistry.

@@steven5054 bold of you to assume I make any of those arguments. Nice straw man Micheal , I see you in the comments of many Jordan videos posting absolute drivel for arguments and acting as of everyone who oppose you are of one group ideology and then you proceed to strawman them to avoid dealing with their arguments.

Thank you very much Mr. Peterson.

Such good advice. Don't talk to the police their job is to find crimes 75% of the time they find the crime in the interviews they conduct. Take the 5th amendment to not self incriminate. You must state that you are using your 5th amendment right. Because no answer can be an answer.

The presumption of innocence benefits everyone- including the guilty whereas the alternative results in the guilty needing to find enough conflicting evidence to result in doubt.

Best advice Peterson has ever given; Don't talk to the police period!
Because you can ONLY hurt NOT help yourself, reinforced by the fact police are only even looking for things they can use against you NOT things to help your defense, worse in most places its illegal for the police to help in any way in your defence despite what they may know and/or evidence they are aware of!!!
The Court is where you defend yourself, at least is in theory!

I hope Tammy is doing well bro, I know things are scary right now... There never seems to be a good time to ask such things but I've observed amazing people like yourself appearing and when they pass away a void is created. How can we continue the fight, so to say, without the head honcho?
May you live for another thousand years. ;)

I consider the story of the woman with the rock an unthinkable horror. The fact that she was forced to do such a thing... I literally thank God (in a true, metaphysical sense) that the tragedies of my life are minor, even trivial, by comparison.

I watched a lot of true crime shows and i always notice that when a case is unresolved but they want you to believe that someone was a suspect, they always support that with saying that when that suspect was first interviewed by the police he/she refused to speak to cops without a lawyer. And it’s followed by a something like “if they were in fact innocent, why did they refuse to talk without a lawyer? Why wouldn’t they just talk and give their alibi or whatever” and i feel like that something that raises even more suspicions according to the police. Did i make any sense? 🤔
