    Yes, please keep the vids coming. I’d like to see this channel grow. Been a fan of White Rice for a few years now. 2JZ power!

    So can u clarify for me please. I have a 2013 Mustang with a 6r80 and want a stand alone but was told a while back that I would need something other than a 6r80 if I wanted the Motec. Is it now available for my trans? Can I buy the M150 and have it control my 6r80 now?

    • @edmundnlemadim
      @edmundnlemadim 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes the M150 is the answer. That is what Fathouse Fab has been using for their GT350 program. Now that they have 6R80 trans control written for Motec, this means the M150 can control coyote engine + transmission

      The 2015-17 specific M150 plug and play kit is here, for $7000, and that doesn’t include all accessories, install, and full tuning of the package.
      I’ve owned a 700+ hp Whipple cobra but currently do not have a Ford powered vehicle. I have a 2003 evo with a AEM infinity standalone, and a 2JZGTE swap going into a S14 Nissan 240.
      Guys in the import world need ECU solutions for high hp vehicles, as trying to make 1k whp out of a 4 or 6 cylinder car has its own set of headaches: the need for 2 step and anti lag to help spool large turbos in a more efficient manner when racing, flex fuel capability and multiple maps to vary power level as needed, failsafes because plenty of things can go wrong when making 5X 6x original OEM power output. This is especially true for vehicles that are engine swapped cross-platform.
      Ford/Coyote guys don’t spend 7-10k on ECU products and tuning because the pcm is advanced enough to handle 85% of the functions a standalone can do. Between using stock ECU and a E boost 2 controller, any turbo Coyote car can be reasonably well set up, and with a handheld tuner, you can switch from pump gas tune to e85 in short time.
      Now for the people who want the MORE PRECISE control that an advanced ECU offers, as it can better control large injectors, interface with wheel speed sensors to provide multi dimensional traction control, varying throttle position, boost (which stock ECU cannot do) as well as timing, and can vary the aggressiveness of the traction control based on varying mile per hour “slip” full flex fuel control blend tables that allow you to maintain desired AFR regardless of ANY blend from E10-E90 fuel, and can allow steadily increasing levels of power as your ethanol content increases, advanced fail safes that will limit power/cut boost or shut off engine based on high coolant temp, excessive coolant pressure (if head gasket is leaking but not fully blown) lean AFR due to faulty pumps or clogged filters or a power delivery issue, low oil pressure, excessive trans temperature, etc etc, I could go on for days.... *IF that is what you want, and you’re willing to pay 7-10k for an ECU and tuning* then Motec is for you.
      The last sentence is why you see few mustangs run Motec and fewer with a 6R80. Most do a cost benefit analysis and don’t care to spend extra money on what could be seen as “creature comforts”
      We import guys NEED it after a certain power level or desired level of performance in our cars. Domestic guys can get away without one.

      @@edmundnlemadim yea I hear its out ive just not heard on one single human being actually getting it to work

      @DANTE BELGIAN MALINOIS
      it’s not about “actually getting it to work” it’s about someone wanting to do it. If Motec makes 6R80 control software, and can adapt it to a non Coyote application, common sense would lend that control software has already been adapted for the native power plant.
      That aside, there is someone with a coyote and a 6R80 on Motec, and here they are doing a pull to show that it shifts:

    That seems like an expensive solution when the ProEFI should be able to control all of it. Why the need to have a Motec in there at all?

    ATF speed should have been the first and only choice, they specialize in the Toyota a340 transmission for power over 1,000hp. Ford in a Supra.... Hahaha 😁🤣😁🤣🤣🤣🤣 Never in this life time.
