Big turbo cars for drag racing need to be auto so she never lets off boost in my opinion. This gives me a reason to start looking to buy another MKIV auto! Whats up fam. Thank you for checking out our video. I do my best to respond to everyone. FYI my first ever built auto for my supra I also bought from titan and it blew up a few months later. That turned me towards ATF SPEED and i never looked back. I use an AEM V2 to control my engine and trans. Over the years these transmissions have come a crazy long way. My supra currently runs 7.70@183mph in the 1/4 mile
Baltic Supra Racing that is great to know! Unfortunately I had some of the very first Titan transmissions and out of 3 rebuilds I never got more than 100miles out of one 😂. Then my tuner (Cody Phillips) was not very good with tuning the auto trans on my AEM v2. Maybe now it would be worth another look 👍🏼😊
Hey mate. Any thoughts/tips/comments on the use of the torque converter lockup? The stock TCC in an A340E is basically made from cheese, but I've heard of guys building them up and when they drag race they have the TCC locked from the get go. Are you using it at all, or do you free rev the whole way and just jack the line pressures up? I've got a '98 Tiptronic I've hacked up with a full standalone transmission computer and I'm trying to figure out the best tune for the TCC and whether it's useful, or just leave it for the highway to save fuel. I can't afford to blow anything up, but you drag guys usually have the best info/experience and aren't afraid to blow things up for the rest of us to learn from. lol. Cheers.
What’s up Race Fam. We never locked the converter during a race knowing it would it much extra stress on trans and damage it. We only lock it on the Highway or in the dyno after that we run it unlock. However the convert we use is pretty tight to help the power make it down to the tires. I ran 7.52@186mph with that trans and converter
@@BalticSupraRacing Thanks. I thought so! When you say you lock it on the dyno though, is that just for steady-state tuning. Power runs are still unlocked? Just trying to get a sense of how much the thing can actually take.

Hello. I'm driving an Aristo and I'm deciding now on what transmission to run. I'm planning on making 650-700hp I'll be running the same rear gear as you in this video GS430 3.26. How do you like street driving the TH400? I don't plan on any real track driving just a fun street car. The idea of a electronics free TH400 I never have to worry about is enticing to me. But I do like the overdrive of my A340.
I love street driving my th400 it’s much more manageable then I ever imagined it would be. Only down side in my opinion is that it’s not recommended to downshift unless you slow down. So for example your on the highway in 3rd gear and someone pulls up wanting to race you have to reduce your speeds a ton to be able to safely downshift to start your race. Not ideal! The Toyota A340 trans had no issue with this
Using a Gs400 rear diff go figure! I have a 2jz swapped GS400...on roll races I break boost every single time factory auto here 🍻 although I have the aristo trans so I have tip Tronic so I’m always shifting with the buttons 😃

Goodness me, that is one tough transmission! Do you have to change the fluid a lot? I'm guessing there is some sort of added cooling mechanism to stop it overheating. Pleased to have come across your TH-cam channel 😀. Would love to own a supra one day - just got my student debt to pay off first 🤣.
Thank you so much for the information. It was really helpful. Can you only say how can i on the best way launch my bone stock supra ? And one more question if you let's say drive in 60 and want to do a quick overtaking do you downshift self or do you use the drive with kickdown ? I hope that you understand my question. Because when I drive lets say 60 and push the plate to the floor then I don't get the kickdown first it just slowly speeding up the speed.
To launch a bone stock auto supra. foot brake it from the line till right before the wheels start to spin. You can also pull the brake to keep the car from spinning. This will help you build boost and get the best performance. If your just trying to pass someone you can just floor it in D. won't do any harm especially on a stock supra. This video is more so referring to modified cars with high horsepower
Better general information on Automatics. When it comes to Automatic Transmissions , leaving it in "Drive" on the interstate is not bad. Especially with the proper gear ratio that lets you get to 70mph in decent RPMs. For decent mpgs. When you want to go to 100mph to 80mph. That is when Overdrive is to be used.
@@BalticSupraRacing would you mind if I mention you and a small clip from your channel (10 sec) on my video? I want make video with 5 reasons you should buy an auto supra.
Can you please place a camera at an angle where we can see the gears shifting while you drive and also after you turn on the manual gear, how do shift to 4 after 3rd?
Fred Cockfield mine won’t take manual orders without the manual button. Try it out in your car if it stay in the selected gear and up shift only when you request then no need for the manual button in your case and no harm will be done
So I’m guessing it’s safe to shift in a automatic transmission right? Cause I have a Nissan Maxima 02 GLE and Someone told me dont manually shift in it Cause its not safe to shift in automatic transmission you can mess up the transmission.
Great Video, i have a auto e36 323i and i needed this video. Do you recommend letting off the throttle when upshifting or is it okay to floor it through the manual shifts. Also for downshifts is it necessary to rev match the car?
Dont let off the throttle when you shift up or down if doing manual shift. As for rev match, i dont have the experience for that as im still playing around with my car
This is an old video but I had a question. Would you suggest traction control/esp off for racing on radials, or just off all together no matter the tire?
So when the race started did you slowly accelerate or did you floor it? Also after you shift into third gear did you shift it into drive or did you stay on third?
Would those guys do a automatic transmission for the 2005 Infinity G35 by chance because I would absolutely love to know if they can definitely build me a racing automatic transmission

Baltic Supra Racing lol that’s what I’ve heard. I’m actually the dude who messaged you not that long ago to get in touch with tuned by lance...currently trying to save my money for his layout he sent me for more power. Currently trying to flip a few used cars. My 9-5 ain’t cutting it
Very helpful video. Do you have a stand alone? Did your tuner need do setup how your O/D and manual button work?
Yes I have a full stand alone AEM V2.
@@BalticSupraRacing wow 1400hp on the v2 is crazy. Is it a pnp or custom harness?
Murda put me on to this channel. Nice vid good info
Awesome video
Love my built auto Supra great video
Goodness me, that is one tough transmission! Do you have to change the fluid a lot? I'm guessing there is some sort of added cooling mechanism to stop it overheating. Pleased to have come across your TH-cam channel 😀. Would love to own a supra one day - just got my student debt to pay off first 🤣.
Thanks for checking out our video fam. I use a large trans cooler with fan. I also do change the fluid frequently.
Hope you score a supra once your ready. They are amazing cars
Thanks man, I appreciate your response. Keep up the great content and stay safe during these challenging times. 😀

Tire Marks baby !!!!!!!!!
Wicked info! Thanks bro🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
@@BalticSupraRacing Tanks 👍🏻
Nice setup, are you using a seperate ecu for the transmission? Looking into going atf a340 but cant seem to find much info on management
My supra is controlled by an AEM V2 it controls my engine and transmission
Better general information on Automatics.
When it comes to Automatic Transmissions , leaving it in "Drive" on the interstate is not bad. Especially with the proper gear ratio that lets you get to 70mph in decent RPMs. For decent mpgs.
When you want to go to 100mph to 80mph. That is when Overdrive is to be used.
You have just shut the mouth of kids who never drove or saw a supra in their lives :)
Lol
@@BalticSupraRacing would you mind if I mention you and a small clip from your channel (10 sec) on my video? I want make video with 5 reasons you should buy an auto supra.
so how do I race a automatic car that does not have overdrive mode switch and does not have a manual switch either??
#1 supra 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Can you please place a camera at an angle where we can see the gears shifting while you drive and also after you turn on the manual gear, how do shift to 4 after 3rd?
you shift to 4th from 3rd by pressing in the OD button
I have a stage 3 A340e from ATF, will it hurt if I manually shift it without engaging manual mode? I have my trac control fuse out.
Whats up fam. Manually shifting it causes no harm
Th400 is cool but it’s 3 gears it sucks for highways driving had one in my 240 having that xtra cruising gear is key
Change your gear ratio.
What do you think about a regular shift kit? And your shifting is recommended for all auto trans for auto supras?
Thank you for this video brother!
Great Video, i have a auto e36 323i and i needed this video. Do you recommend letting off the throttle when upshifting or is it okay to floor it through the manual shifts. Also for downshifts is it necessary to rev match the car?
Its a auto
@@DixonCider-p3b yes but it has a manual mode. Don’t wanna put too much strain on the old trans
Dont let off the throttle when you shift up or down if doing manual shift. As for rev match, i dont have the experience for that as im still playing around with my car
Yes sir 👌🏽
what size tire are you running , sweet car
Need a video of u bumping in!
i just lift slightly off the break and let the car creep forward
bro the number 1 thing you dont mention is what ecu are you running and is it controlling the a340 if not how is it controlled?
I always ran an AEM V2. It would control engine and trans.
@@BalticSupraRacing Thanks for the reply man. Big fan from Australia
This is an old video but I had a question. Would you suggest traction control/esp off for racing on radials, or just off all together no matter the tire?
Yup, I would turn it all off on a good radial tire
A built A650e vs a semi built A340e which one would handle power better and be more reliable in the long run
😈🤘🤘 been watching you for a while
Thanks fam
Its like an episode of cribs man. Can I do your job? What do you do?
lol, im a senior sales associate for a human resource company. Sales can be tough at times but it allows you the opportunity to work as hard as you want for uncapped commissions.
How do you have control when going at high speeds so you don't crash?
What’s up Race Fam. Thanks for checking out our video. As crazy as it sounds the faster the car goes the more everything else starts to slow down. At 180+ mph you really must feel like your one with the car. Get to know your car little by little first.
People are slept on automatic
just a question, If I leave at 2nd gear or L (1st gear) will the car shift to a higher gear or it will lock the gear?
learn engineering with me Some cars will shift up but most wont.
Super helpful!
Thanks brother
Can you do a burnout easy enough with the factory auto box ??
Can I do this to my LexusES300 2003?
thats a nice house
