- Honestly one of the fastest cars we have driven and full of drama.
Stu & Owen give this Quantum Cosworth a bit of a hammering but it also scares the hell out of them on the local roads.
Just when you think Ford nailed the Cosworth, then you put that engine and tune it to 350BHP in a Kit Car that weighs less than 700kg is pure madness!!

Back in the 80’s I built a Westfield Seight from scratch, with a pre built engine putting out 330 bhp and topped of with a 4 barrel Holy. Not only was that car loud, twin exhausts with very little baffling, but it was mental to drive. Like these two, it was guaranteed to put a smile on your face!

330 was always the number for greens with a -31 actuator & the bigger 4x4 spec turbo. 300 on the smaller 2wd turbo from memory. The one I always fancied a go in was the Dax Rush Quadra. That had the 4x4 setup from the Saph Cosworth with the YB.

Absolutely correct I've seen 360 bhp on 803`s with no margin for error using a T34.63 500 type cooler and all other supported mods. That setup at best is 310 bhp. As for the fuel pump set up well lets just say i would not drive it like it..... 🤔

I'm a 6ft4" paraplegic and have driven one down to Croatia twice.
Going down a mountain at night with foot off and seeing flames shooting out of the exhaust, amazing.

Woke up this morning after an awful night sleep… but that’s another story. Made myself a bowl of cereal and a nice coffee and sat down and thought I’d browse through TH-cam… after less than 15 seconds of watching this I managed to lose half the contents of my coffee from my mouth as I spat out in laughter by watching the faces of you to totally shit yourself whilst driving this lunatic of a car. Storing a over bored bussa Westfield for a mate, it's also just insane. Reputedly these accelerate in a straight line faster than dropping it off a cliff and it really does feel like it, totally addictive. We were all RS turbo /cossie nutters back in the day.

The engine looks to be a Cosworth YBT engine (dark blue rocker cover), these came in the early T34 Escort Cosworths from 1992 to early 1995.

It isn’t, it has a 2wd head which is evident by the turbo damper mounting lugs. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was a 2wd bottom end aswell

On greens it’s probably around 320 which was a stage 2? Back in the day
However even a stage 1 (280bhp) in a red will have you setting your knickers the first time, no mistaking cosworth power delivery, pure smiles

@@MotorAddicts I had a few including a sapphire and a rally escort cosworth, had mountune engine etc, I converted it back to a road car in totally standard look, wolfs in sheep’s clothing
My EC was running motorsport blue injectors which were up to 380bhp, they sat just under grey injectors from memory which were for 420 bhp up, but prone to bore wash
Stage 1 270 bhp std yellows
Stage 2 290 bhp light greens 355
Stage 3 330 bhp dark greens 803
Stage 4 380 bhp light blues
Stage 4+ 400+ bhp grey 403 injectors as said prone to bore wash due to control issue's at idle.
New stage 4 uses Siemens 55lb injectors
Then 72lb, 83lb.......
Many different configurations including 8 injector set ups.
