DOCKED IN SINGAPORE'S HARBOURFRONT // ON BOARD THE MEXICAN SHIP, CUAUHTÉMOC

- Over the weekend one of our subscribers had told me about a Mexican ship called Cuauhtémoc that was going to be in Singapore for the weekend.
Not one wanting to miss out on something like this I was happy when I realised I was free on Monday to make a visit and get to go on board the ship. The Mexican navy use this ship to train and they travel around different countries as part of their training and letting locals at the ports they dock in explore the deck.
I was so glad I heard about this and went to see it. It’s a little bit of history that I got to be a small part of. When I realised the ship was leaving the very next day I decided to clear my calendar and head back the very next morning to see its departure from Vivo City at 10am.
The sun was out as I sat and watched the sailors uncurling the ropes and getting prepared. What I wasn’t prepared for was the very sudden downpour that left spectators running for cover. The navy are used to getting wet and within minutes they had changed into waterproofs and were carrying on with their duties.
With a loud blast of the horn and some traditional music playing the navy left in style. I was amazed at the many sailors that had climbed up along the masts to stand on ceremony as the ship left the port. A sight to behold that’s for sure.

Thanks, Millie for braving the heavy rain; you're a real trooper for doing this... what a treat of a video. I wouldn't have known of this ship had it not been for this clip. Really enjoyed it.
Thanks for your kind words and continues support. Glad I had time. For a little island so much happens and can be easily missed. We really do appreciate all the tips and shares of what going on here.
A sailing ship! How cool!
Yeah right?! Not everyday you see this.
Thanks for the video. This weekend saw the visit of the Galleon Andalucia at the end of the pier at Southend on sea. It brought lovely sunny weather for once and was a great attraction. Not sure I would like to sail on these but they are a lovely sight
Oh that’s cool! I think I’d feel a little claustrophobic after a while on a ship for so long with not a lot of space. Those ships, however, I’m sure I could manage haha
8:50 and 9:06 - seems like visitors from the diplomatic corp, diplomats, Singapore foreign ministry officials etc. VIP visit, so they are honouring them with proper welcome and salutes.
Ah thanks for sharing about this.
I was there last Sat but did not go up cause the queue is ridiculously long. I could do so much more with the time then queuing.
I could imagine it would be long on the weekend.
Wow what a fabulous video. I felt emotional seeing such a great ceremony taking place. Well done for keeping going 😊🦋
It was actually, guess it's seeing people coming together and for me knowing the sailors will be away for so long and them joining together in a family of sorts.
Hello friend, I always enjoy watching your amazing videos, hope that you guys have a wonderful week. 😊 The ship looks so beautiful. Do you guys know about the Disney cruise that’s coming to Singapore next year? 💜

Glad you liked it!
Wow 😳 I really hope I can be there 👍😎💯
You’ll have to wait until the next time it comes. But do go if you get the chance.
What a Great Ship, my wife just LOVES sailing ships , and will be so excited when she gets home from work at the Op-shop to be able to see another one in a Port situation, we are still planning to visit Singapore in March 2025 if our health improves, and if so , it would probably be our last trip overseas -Phill-the-flyer

This girl from China came to Singapore when she was 16 barely knowing english and studied in a local school where every subject except mother tongue was in english. You should do a collaboration with her.
Thanks, I'll check her out.
