Slogged up there from Beauty World MRT, and wanted to see the quarries in the nature reserve. The viewing areas were closed for works (annoying) but I did see a monitor lizard eating a bat for lunch! --> which was fair compensation for my efforts 😂

That "Blue Bird" is called the White Collared Kingfisher otherwise known as the Collared Kingfisher. Its the most common Kingfisher here in SG. That plant is called the Pitcher Plant that eats insects. You should visit Singapore Quarry just behind Rail Mall. You may see lots of photographers shooting the Great Headed Fish Eagle and Oriental Darter.

The fruit aspen picked up at 15:15 should be a Singapore durian (durio singaporensis). Unfortunately it isn’t edible, so we don’t even have to wonder about its tasting notes :(
@@WONDERLUSTworld Most definitely yes. The entire row of houses opposite Block 338 (alongside the MRT line) did not exist. Many people used park at the road side to wash their car with the water overflowing from Seng Chew Quarry. They believe that it brings good luck. Many 4D winners have claimed to have winning numbers derived from their car plate number after washing their cars with the water. 😂
@@WONDERLUSTworld I mean, FAIR. My grandparents had a rambutan tree and when it was chopped down I was devastated as a child XD I absolutely understand how she feels!
@@pegasussinbkk1846 it’s actually not carved. Well, ours isn’t. Some people have carved their names into the tree. It’s actually a top layer that lightly comes off when you touch it. Never seen a tree quite like it.

That area was used quite often when channel 8 made 古装剧 in the 90s,2000s....there were less buildings in the bg too, last time.
