I saw ZZ Top back when Gibbons had no beard, short hair and wore a cowboy hat. I went to see Deep Purple and ZZ was the opening act. Despite me being a Purple fan The Top was the better band that night and I became instantly a life long fan.
Phenomenal! Love the smile on Tal's face - being able to play at this event with so much talent...I'd say lucky girl, but it's not luck, it's her talent that got her there!

I love Billy G as he was THE player who made me buy a guitar and teach myself to play. Also I'm a huge Jeff Beck fan and love his playing. And the ultra talented bassist Tal Wilkerson, just love her. This combo really works for this song!! (And anything else they would play as well. ) 😎🤟👍😎
Without a doubt.....Two of the best players on the planet.....Billy is so damn good....Jeff is in a place all of his own, who knows where he will go next.....His whole career has been an evolution.....
Beck has spent the later part of his years playing with and highlighting new and old talent. One of the five founding fathers of modern rock - post 50's. Clapton, Beck, Page, Hendrix, Van Halen. Beck is still revered and still playing and it does my heart good. I love the way Beck is so generous on stage and allows new talent to shine in the sun. Old talent just makes it that much more fun! Rock on.

And while I was "fishing for tunes" I found this little surprise of a gem. Jeff Beck & Billy Gibbons giving their version of Foxy lady, with that "Fox of a bass Player" who adds the bottom line in Jeff's band. Not too shabby a version if I may say. In fact it's SCHTONKING !

Jimi Hendrix once said that Billy was his favorite guitar player. Jimi played with Moving Sidewalks, BG's band at that time, and was floored by his tight blues playing.
It's okay we're only human and as humans we naturally slow down. But if a classic artist is still alive people want to see them. Remember that old song, "There's nothing like the real thing" For me it's still a thrill (although I've worked in music forever) to see original artists. Anyway I thank you for being so kind and apologizing, you must be a great girl.
you can see more of tal with jeff beck at crossroads 2007. she was 19 or 20 then and just like here more than holding her own. just enjoying the hell outta being onstage with these heavyweights ! she is such a force to be reckoned with, and you'll be seeing her realize it. she's aussie btw.
Jeff Beck has been inducted 3 times in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! His first induction was the Yardbirds, in 1986 during the 7th induction at Radio City Music Hall presented by The Edge. His second one was The Jeff Beck Group in 1997 during the 18th induction and was presented by Bruce Hornsby. And his 3rd one was solo career in 2009 during the 30th induction, and was presented by Prince at Dolby Theatre.

Claudio Cisneros True. But Tal had only been playing bass for 5 years when she joined Beck, and that was at Vinnie's suggestion, so obviously he thinks a lot of her playing. Meanwhile, Vinnie had done years with Zappa, Gino Vannelli, Sting and so many others. My point - really - is that Tal is one of the most musical and relevant players we have seen in years. There is no showboating, no gratuitous wanking - she just plays great bass. And looks like she's having fun doing it. So, I hear what you're saying, but as you say, Tal is 'incredible'.
SabuPtolemy Yes, rumours come and go... Not sure how much credence there is in that one. Regardless, she did such a great job in that gig. And if she could follow Vinnie's playing onstage (he's a busy lad), she should have no problem off.... But I've yet to see or hear convincing proof.
That EAug9 power chord is the cat's meow ~ hats off to Hendrix for converting a jazz chord to a rock chord. Gibbon's voice does the song justice and his classic lead lines are in good voicing. Jeff Beck is also slamming that chord in unison with Billy and adding his Beckian brand of lead guitar. Billy keeps the traditional Hendrix feel on lead while Jeff, always innovative does his own thing. It is a unique team effort. Then again, Foxey Lady fuckin rocks!!!!
