I come here to watch this on a regular basis to feel good about life and the beauty of music and guitar. Today it's with sadness, Farewell, Jeff Beck, Farewell 😥
Among the giants of guitar when officially polled a few years ago, Jeff Beck was the winner among his peers. You can have tens of thousands of people write in and say Michelangelo couldn't paint..but to those who really know...know what the top of the heap looks like.. when they see it...Amen!
I'll miss you Jeff. Although I never met you your techniques have taught me so much in guitar even if I don't reach your levels of fame. This was my alarm tone for about 10 years on my phone.
+Dominic Haigh Phil Keaggy was only 18-19 years old and was still recording his first album when Jimi died. But nobody's ever really been able to cite that Hendrix quote anyway - I've heard at least a dozen guitarists that it's supposed to be about. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
+Blake Boyd The quote is probably apocryphal. However, Glass Harp were actually recording their debut in Electric Ladyland in the run up to Hendrix's death, so it is almost certain that Hendrix knew his playing pretty well.
+Dominic Stafford Uglow I could be mistaken but I was sure Jimi died very shortly after the construction on Electric Ladyland studios was finished so he really didn't get to use it very much before he died.
Been thinking about John a lot lately... this would be the perfect tribute to his genius (Paul wrote about 10 seconds of it)... RIP Mr. Magic Man... rest in peace...
A Legend Guitarist in his element! Jeff Beck Started off in the Blues but was a Road Warrior in Search of his own Unique Sound & Voice, He found inspiration in a Multiplicity of Musical Genres and Cultures, Eventually Evolving to Jazz. He Played with Stanley Clark, Jan Hammer, Chic Corea & John Mclaughlin. He even played on Stevie Wonders "Talking Book" Lp Jeff loved Fender Stratocaster Guitars, He stated that "among the family of Guitars, The Stratocaster is most Lyrical and Closest to the Human Voice, You can go from Quiet whisper to Screaming and with the Whammy Bar, You can hit any note known to Mankind." Rest In Peace Jeff Beck, May your former Bandmates in the Early "Yardbirds" find comfort in your Accomplishments as a Guitar Players Guitarist!
i read the news today, oh boy. rip this legend, one of the best guitarists of all time. i remember watching this for the first time i was struck by his skill, never seen a guitarist with these types of techniques. a true virtuoso 🕊
The Beatles have always been my favourite group of all time, and Lennon in particular is my hero. I must say that this is a fantastic version of one of Lennon´s classics!.... JUST WONDERFUL - gives me shivers all over....
JB covered She's A Woman years ago. Beck said McCartney is the greatest singer-songwriter of all time. So has Bob Dylan (yep, let that sink in) as has Paul Simon, Smokey Robinson, Pete Townshend, David Gilmour, James Taylor and Stevie Wonder
newt0830 You know that they kept that only as a moniker. There are several interviews where they say that by 1965, each would write a song, and they’d just say “Lennon McCartney”, but clearly some songs were written by one or the other. For instance, “In my Life” is a Lennon McCartney song, yet its widely known John wrote pretty much the whole song. Whereas “Hey Jude” is also Lennon McCartney credited, but it’s clearly written by Paul. The only part of “A Day in the Life” that Paul wrote was the bridge, “I woke up fell out of bed, etc.” The song was mostly written by Lennon.
I heard the news about you today Jeff. It is terribly sad. There was nobody like you. There never will be again. Thank you for playing this song about the real Paul McCartney who passed away in 1966. RIP Jeff Beck 1/10/23.
I just love Jeff Beck - going back to his beginnings - a most awesome guitarists who I was lucky enough to catch in concert and Stevie Ray Vaughn was touring with him - It was so friggin awesome to have seen and heard them jam together live.
Jeff Beck, IMHO ranks as one of the Best Guitarists ever. Along with Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, Prince and Roy Clark. Honorable mention to Jimmy Page as well. RIP Jeff Beck. Your music will be forever remembered.
the penultimate guitar master. Saw him at the State in Portland with fever of 104. Was not going to miss the show and very happy I did not. Special human, special man
Pure genius. I saw him do this at the Tower Theater in Philly in '95 and thought . . . wow, maybe I could do this with the band I'm in (well . . . maybe not quite like this) so I tried. Thanks Jeff! It brings the house down.
Saw him do this at the Beacon in NYC, just blocks from where Lennon lived. New Yorkers were very, very moved. You could really tell how much he loved The Beatles
Fly high and fly well Jeff , for you were indeed the Governor…unmatched, unparalleled and unequalled…The Truth and Blow by blow are two of the must have albums in anyones collection. RIP JB.😢
Rest in peace Jeff your guitar melodies will remain as pure art.
I read the news today.
I'm shattered
Came here for the same reason. May he Rest In Peace.
I saw Him live twice - both times he played this - Made me cry both shows 😭
❤❤❤
Rip
Man, Jeff doesn't need a singer in his band, he can make his guitar sing...
fact
listen to CAROLINE NO it does sing!!!!!!
I ran into him a few times. Pure Gent but he was dumbfounded his communication was the axe!
… and he always did. We will never see his like again. Simply one of one.
one of the best Beatles covers for sure
Peter Hammer Jaco does Blackbird, that a worthy mention also.
Beck is a god
Yep!!!
This guy was truly one of the greats! You will be missed Jeff but you will live on forever in your music!!!
Yesterday was the last day in your life, which is very, very sad. Rest in peace and thank you for your music.
The world's best guitarist left us today.
I come here to watch this on a regular basis to feel good about life and the beauty of music and guitar. Today it's with sadness, Farewell, Jeff Beck, Farewell 😥
R.I.P Jeff.. I'm so gladI had the privilege of seeing you plat ADITL live and you blew me away.
RIP GUITAR GENIUS. BECK FOREVER.
I STILL CANNOT BELIEVE YARBIRDS ONCE HAD BECK, CLAPTON AND JIMMY. WOW. INSANE!
and need I text..so impeccably in different ..I think?
The best that ever played. Thanks for the music that made my life richer. I’ve followed you for decades, not years.❤
Among the giants of guitar when officially polled a few years ago, Jeff Beck was the winner among his peers. You can have tens of thousands of people write in and say Michelangelo couldn't paint..but to those who really know...know what the top of the heap looks like.. when they see it...Amen!
Raymond Boorojian ha I know...if you tried to fight Jeff Beck he would poke you in the eye and walk away!
Just because someone creates art doesn't mean they have a greater appreciation for it than anyone else.
You're probably very right about that but they might have a greater appreciation of the talent necessary to create the art.
Love and peace to Jeff Beck for years of guitar perfection. You will be missed.
I read the news today oh boy. About the great Jeff Beck . RIP!
Beck has truly Mastered his craft. He has created his own Style and perfected it over the years! What a great performance of a wonderful song!
One of the all-time greats. RIP, Mr. Beck, and thanks for the music.
I was here at this show And in awe. This is a perfect example of why ❤️❤️🤠🤠 I am in shock right now 😢😢
RIP Jeff Beck, owner of one of the most beautiful sounds in rock guitar history.
majestic, effortless, exceptional guitar player of all time. RIP Jeff Beck!
I came back to say Jeff didn't play guitar. He was the guitar. Jeff, Jimmy, Hendrix and SRV were amazing. They love it. Simple as that.
Him, Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Van Halen are the only guitarists that truly blow my mind and fill my heart with joy. Pure mechanical genius.
You forgot that Jimmy Page was also one of the best and he replaced Jeff beck in the yardbirds circa. 1966
Roy Buchanan
Terry Kath
@@marynovak5800 not in the same league though. Jimmy Page is the first to admit it.
I'd add Prince to that list.
Thank you Leggendary Guitar. ..Leggendary men !!❤️
RIP mr. Beck... Your music will always be in our hearts
Rest in peace legend ❤️ Thanks for the unique guitar notes you brought to our world 🎸

Rest In Peace … an absolute genius …
First one I thought of too! All the greatest are going away. What a bummer🤘🏻🎸
I came here too when I heard the news today, oh boy. He's gone but his guitar genius lives on.
Wow! How many of us wish we had his Passion. Very captivating. If you play, you know.
Makes you want to use your guitar for a canoe paddle.. back to the drawing board
Rest in power, Jeff. Legends never die!
Just heard this song on The Tom Petty radio channel two days ago. Tom was a big fan also. They will be jammin' now.
Brilliant! 💚🎸
Total and utter shock. Heard the news yesterday
Freaking genius. My all time favorite Beatles song.
I'll miss you Jeff. Although I never met you your techniques have taught me so much in guitar even if I don't reach your levels of fame. This was my alarm tone for about 10 years on my phone.
It is so good to come back and listen to sounds nobody else could make, thank you Jeff, Vinnie and Tal.
jeff beck-truly one of a kind...a guitar master....amazing version. saw him do this live in 2001 gave me the chills.
Jeff Beck is the KING !!!! Nobody has been able to copy the sound & creativity of the master.
I heard that someone asked once Jimi what it was like to be the best guitar player in the world...he told them to go ask Jeff Beck!
+Dominic Haigh Phil Keaggy was only 18-19 years old and was still recording his first album when Jimi died. But nobody's ever really been able to cite that Hendrix quote anyway - I've heard at least a dozen guitarists that it's supposed to be about. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

redhead5150 Listen to Chris Poland. He’s basically the combination of Jeff Beck and Allan Holdsworth.
Clapton, Page, and Mr. Jeff Beck was my first concert. 😢💔🙏🏼
Thank you for once again, showing us how to play these golden gems.
Magnifique, merci de tout mon cœur !
Great moments!! Thanks, Jeff!!
What artistry! And love that smile right at the end. RIP
RIP Jeff, you left us the same way I remember you when I was introduced to you in the mid-70's. Thank you.
The great rock band in the sky just got another member. RIP Jeff.
RIP Jeff Beck. Such a sad loss for real music.
Been thinking about John a lot lately... this would be the perfect tribute to his genius (Paul wrote about 10 seconds of it)...
RIP Mr. Magic Man... rest in peace...
RIP & peace and love to Jeff Beck, what an incredible performance this was! I hope I watch this again someday!🎸✌️☮️❤️
OMG that's beautiful. I love this version and the Beatles so much.
So sad no more day in a life with Jeff Beck.
Superb. Beck literally makes his guitar sing. Amazing! Thanks for posting this gem.

The Walrus was Paul... but all the same
actually its a Lennon-McCartney song
JB covered She's A Woman years ago. Beck said McCartney is the greatest singer-songwriter of all time. So has Bob Dylan (yep, let that sink in) as has Paul Simon, Smokey Robinson, Pete Townshend, David Gilmour, James Taylor and Stevie Wonder

Nobody but nobody can or ever did make his guitar sing for him in a beautiful way like he did. Just unbelievable.
#1 in my book
You dont even need a vocalist w/ Jeff Beck!
You don't even need a vocalist w/ a Beatles Song.
Rest well and in peace, Jeff ... thank you for the music you have given us.
GOAT Jeff Beck, top10 best guitarrist all time
I love the bassist woman. She`s great.

Jeff Beck, IMHO ranks as one of the Best Guitarists ever. Along with Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, Prince and Roy Clark. Honorable mention to Jimmy Page as well. RIP Jeff Beck. Your music will be forever remembered.
Justin Bieber plays a pretty mean G chord.
Was so fortunate to see him twice. Just amazing.
Singing with his guitar! Right on, Jeff!
This guy should be knighted by the queen if he hasn’t been already...his talent is mind blowing and is a beautiful thing to behold
Spongebob narrator: One year later

Absolutely love this , just pure class
