I like how this is more than just spooky ghost haunt spooky game with hyper realistic images oohhh spooky, this has so much effort put into it and is way scarier than if it was just spooky blood Mario
The star statue bit made me laugh out loud, it's so on-the-nose. There's some good effort put into the presentation here but it's such an endless procession of cliches that it reads as parody sometimes.
Yoshi jumping off the Castle was very unsettling for me. The AI forced himself to jump off the castle and die. And when the player tried to investigate, the AI stopped him.

At 15:04, the song is the latter half of a piece called "Distorted Trumpets" which is featured in Half-Life 2 when the G-man appears on a hidden TV screen during the uprising. It doesn't feature the backwards speech or the actual trumpet section, but the reversed speech says something along the lines of "Gordon/Alyx (Depending on who you ask), can you hear me?" At around 16:09, the screams are also reversed and pitched up Headcrab Zombie screams from, yet again, Half-Life 2. This particular scream is, yet again, the latter half. The whole scream only occurs when the zombie is on fire (as far as I know), but it just says "Help, God, help! Help me!"
That obvious audio anachronism threw me out of it. Wish more analogue horror series cared enough about keeping things period correct. One of the reasons I have a hard time getting into them is due to the lack of care for accuracy in tech and aesthetics from the years the media is purportedly originating from.

Did anybody notice words flash upon the screen when mario turned to see luigi's dead body? I could tell the first one was: "HELP US" at 15:56 The the next one is at 16:00 which says: "SAVE US". Pretty scary.
Also at 16:00 it says “THE FLOOD” if u pause at the right time, maybe it’s talking about the flood that led to the second orange switch being accessible
I love the fact of how at 14:02 in the video the guy playing starts to do a BLJ (backwards long jump) glitch to bypass the endless stairs but the glitch wasn’t found till after the release of the final copy
When the Wario head appeared, text flashes on the screen that says, *"It's not real"*, suggesting that whatever is in the game is informing Jim that the Wario Apparition isn't real.

Not related to any of the actual plot, but I find it interesting that the AI/Mario is named “Stanley” and Mario’s voice in the Nintendo Mania show while sounding similar to his voice in the Super Mario Bros Super Show, also is slightly reminiscent (to me at least) of the voice of Stanley Pines from Gravity Falls, especially in the flashbacks to when he was younger. It could be a slight reference/easter egg or I just could be looking too much into it. If so, I find it a very interesting coincidence!
i love how instead of this series focusing on the overused trope of “oh boy iconic character is now bad demon character and is now out to get you!” the actual “villains” of the series are actually the players themselves, who are blissfully unaware that they are torturing sentient A.I who only want to rest. All the horror and glitches aren’t cheap scares for shock value, but attempts of the A.I trying to get the player to stop playing the game so they can rest

Everyone else talking about theories about the lore or their experiences with the series, but no one is talking about how goofy Luigi's drowning sound effect sounds.
People need to make more series like these, I would like to myself, make some strange and bizarre mysteries with some elements of analog horror here and there but more than anything it's more of an Fictional Alternate Universe Historical Adventure series than anything else, with every single old game that I'm interested in. Maybe I'll even combine them all into a Multiverse, each with their own universes and further focused into their own stories. 2:44 of course, otherwise we wouldn't have this story. Huh, Jim must be really brave. I'm not sure if these warnings are either worth listening or not. Okay, now I'm sure that the A.I. has no bad intentions.

I don't really like this series, but I can appreciate the amount of work that the creator put into it. I mean, first off the Wario apparition was always kind of a dumb aspect of the whole "Every copy is personalized" thing. I can actually get behind the AI existing, though I acknowledge that it would have probably been near impossible to do at the time. The whole thing with the flashing text is super generic and boring, overplayed I guess. The whole "Get Out," "Turn Back," it's all been done before, and it's always the same. I will say, the suspense of what would appear when Mario turns the camera was nice, using that brief window to show something horrific, but that's the thing, BRIEF window. Things like Luigi's body are on screen for such a short time that you have to go back and pause to fully take it in. The whole snapped neck thing is pretty overplayed too. I will admit though, that image of the mangled up Mario was unsettling. I enjoyed that one. The fourth floor of the castle, while feeling a bit too symmetrical and empty, was still pretty nice to see. Overall, I'd give this series a 7/10 for creativity, 4/10 for scariness, and a 9/10 for presentation. It's definetly not the best or scariest thing I've seen, but the creator clearly has a lot of talent, and I look forward to what they may do in the future.
I think the genuine cheese of this series is that it takes alot from other analog series, like the mario animation feels very akin to animation in the fnaf vhs tapes, images from walten files, jumpscares from harmony and horror, stuff like that. Its not necessarily a bad thing, but its a noticible thing.

People need to make more series like these, I would like to myself, make some strange and bizarre mysteries with some elements of analog horror here and there but more than anything it's more of an Fictional Alternate Universe Historical Adventure series than anything else, with every single old game that I'm interested in. Maybe I'll even combine them all into a Multiverse, each with their own universes and further focused into their own stories.

I don't really like this series, but I can appreciate the amount of work that the creator put into it.
I mean, first off the Wario apparition was always kind of a dumb aspect of the whole "Every copy is personalized" thing. I can actually get behind the AI existing, though I acknowledge that it would have probably been near impossible to do at the time. The whole thing with the flashing text is super generic and boring, overplayed I guess. The whole "Get Out," "Turn Back," it's all been done before, and it's always the same. I will say, the suspense of what would appear when Mario turns the camera was nice, using that brief window to show something horrific, but that's the thing, BRIEF window. Things like Luigi's body are on screen for such a short time that you have to go back and pause to fully take it in. The whole snapped neck thing is pretty overplayed too. I will admit though, that image of the mangled up Mario was unsettling. I enjoyed that one. The fourth floor of the castle, while feeling a bit too symmetrical and empty, was still pretty nice to see.
Overall, I'd give this series a 7/10 for creativity, 4/10 for scariness, and a 9/10 for presentation. It's definetly not the best or scariest thing I've seen, but the creator clearly has a lot of talent, and I look forward to what they may do in the future.

I think the genuine cheese of this series is that it takes alot from other analog series, like the mario animation feels very akin to animation in the fnaf vhs tapes, images from walten files, jumpscares from harmony and horror, stuff like that.
Its not necessarily a bad thing, but its a noticible thing.
