@@gisi5276 it's likely that the gameplay is intentionally there to distract you until you notice Red's face in the sky. Seems like most people, especially myself, missed it regardless lol.
Yeah, I've read/watched the Godzilla creepypasta a dozen or so times, and I'd never noticed it either. It honestly blends in really well, looking like just another pattern on the moon. When it was pointed out in the video, I audibly gasped.
@@MishKozSame here, I've been interested in this story since it came out and am only just noticing that detail. None of the discussions and threads I read about it back then mentioned it either. Great detail though. A rare instance of an older game pasta displaying restraint in scaring you, enough that at least some of us didn't even notice it initially.

Lost silver having an easter to egg to snow on mount silver is probably the best part of this video. The music from the ruins of alph still make my stomach twist into knots as a 24 year old just like it did back when I was a little kid
The actual ones are, well, scary in some ways, but not terrifying like these one mentioned, feel like they lost their charm and i really hope that we get a creepypasta game that doesn't depend on cheap jump scares and take more creativity on the story that really makes us uneasy and scared
that's what i expect Sonic.exe PC Port is going to be, it's one of the few creepypasta games i'm looking forward to and i hope it brings something new to the table
Godzilla.exe is probably the best creepy pasta game story.
First of all, i don't like jumpscare they're downright a poor metric for judging horror quality, back on topic i feel the issue is that Creepypasta games are pretty much fangames with a coat of blood, in the very nature of fangames demand that you dig over piles of dross to get a satisfying experience, and such effort will make amyone feel bad.

I mean, there are exceptions too, but, it feels the same in most of them: with Sonic becoming a bloodthirsty demon that kills Tails-Knuckles-Eggman (always in this same exact order) with a bunch of jumpscares and with blood everywhere, it feels like a long loop

It should be noted that the NES Godzilla creepypasta game isn't the full game, and that apparently the people behind it are going to make a full game with all the worlds from the original creepypasta. At least last time I saw a video on the fangame.
In their discord it is said that the game has a very high chance of being cancelled so I don’t really know if they’ll finish it

Godzilla NES is easily my favorite video game creepypasta. The game is super terrifying and I love the character red. I guess the whole girl with dyslexia being in the game is corny but I really don’t care because corny is exactly what a lot of creepypastas are. And the visuals are phenomenal!! It looks like a super good NES game that’s ahead of it’s time and it’s incredible!
Exactly. It might not be the scariest creepypasta in the world, but it is immersive af. By the end of it, I felt like I had just read a really good adventure book.

I remember accidently watching the Pokemon creepy pasta when I was little and I gave me a couple of years of experience of nightmares and being anxious when I'm in a dark room 😂
But the Pokemon I watched was different from the one here, if I remember correctly it was a female trainer and it started in a pokecenter

I remember back when I was little and being scared shitless by Lost Silver and making me scared to play G/S. Cut to a few weeks ago and I see my little sister watching fnf videos and it pops back up, made me feel so damn old 💀
One thing I liked about the entire Snow on Mt. Silver story, is if you pay attention to the order of Red's pokemon and how they look, it kinda tells the story of what happened to him and how they all died. Kinda leaves it to imagination, but it's a really nice touch for the story.
Another great creepy Mario romhack not based on a creepypasta is the Call of Cthulhu hack for Super Mario World. It’s got great atmosphere and some eldritch level geometry that can mess with your mind a bit

If you think about it for a second, Creepypasta games are the first Indie Horrors.
If I remember correctly, the last game was made for a contest and the developer ran out of time before the last 2 zones could be properly adjusted to work with the concept, which is why it ends once Labyrinth Zone is done.
About the Sonic 2: Friendship creepypasta, I don't remember the monitors being destroyed, or that there's absence of badniks. I remembered that it played like a usual Sonic level until Chemical Plant Zone. It could be a Mandela effect. Also, about the Ordinary Sonic ROM hack game, the levels are from Green Hill Zone to Labyrinth Zone because the creator was part of some competition, this gave him time constraints that Star Light Zone and onwards is inaccessible by normal gameplay.
Update: the different Sonic 2: Friendship is not a Mandela effect, it's just a different hack with the same concept.
I think a lot of good creepypasta games are better experienced than explained, unlike non game based stories, it feels more awkward and cliched to hear lines like "things get weirder" and "unlike in the original" over and over.
I didn't realize there was a second lost silver game! That was always my favorite pasta from back in the day, I even helped make the first game with Reidd after we met on the videogame section of 4chan lmao Loved your video!!

The key is to make them games and not jumpscare sims where you just move from one to another.
If you ever make a 3rd part, I suggest Sonic.2011. It's directed by the current owner of Sonic.exe, and programmed by the creator of PC Port, along with it being PC Port's prequel. It's an extremely faithful and high effort game version of Sonic.exe that I highly recommend.

Actually, the fog fades in when you reach a certain time, not when the letter fills red. The letters indicate how many times Red touched you, if he touches you 3 times then you get a game over. It's only if you continue to avoid Red, you win. At least until the next version comes out.
Hey Gearsiko, could you talk about the horror fan games of Mario Left Behind and Crucis Mortem, or Super Mario Bros +, they are all incredible Hack Roms, and very scary, despite being very short, I feel that your videos can help they become more popular

i mean, both are about pokemon silver, both feature celebi, both have the player fighting red and both have the mc lose limbs and change his appearance in the trainer card screen. they are literally so similar.

Havent watched the past one, or this one completely yet, but sonic.exe one last round, aka one more time is actually creepy, it has many different fears included in the game, like trypophobia, water, fire, spiders, blood, teeth, death, torture, all that furn stuff
Was it ever fully released? I could only find the demo, back when I played it over the summer, and I agree, it has everything, and that was just the demo.
Very creative, references a bunch of .exe works, and actually gave me a few good scares. I would love to see the full version.

omg- I'm a sucker for any Pokémon creepypasta, the Pokémon games really made me happy to see here, and happy that ppl r still making stuff for these creepypastas, i rlly LOVE what they did to Lost Silver and Snow on Mt.Silver, the additions are rlly interesting, and well put together. But some of the sprites on the Snow on Mt.Silver are cool but some i wish could be different, like the Snorlax and the Pikachu…

So I will point out with the Godzilla game that the enemies you were calling Metroid references were probably more references to Matango. Matango is a mushroom monster from a Toho horror film and was then used in a godzilla spinoff.

The Sonic hack is much scarier than other Sonic EXE games because it's the actual game on a cartridge. It can be played on a real Mega Drive! This is pretty cool
Um actually, you can outrun red, the run text is a health system and each letter turns red when you get hit. Also, they're munchers, not pinchers. 🤓

That game at the end of the video looks pretty frustrating, the only gimmick it has is just "this monster chases you throughout this level and you need to keep it calm before finishing it"

Nes Godzilla creepypasta is a part of my childhood and it actually scared me, it on top of my list for creepypasta for me alongside with some Pokemon creepypasta one
in Eyeless: Director's Cut, the P-switch music is actually Secret of Evermore's Mini-Boss theme with SMW soundfonts.
There's a game in itself about mount silver, the game looks much more detailed than the secret ending or whatever it is in lost silver

As a godzilla fan , The eye level is not about eyes , Its a matango fungus hive the sprite looks like an eye but they are fungi that are canon in the showa era. And the eye monster is a matango infected kaiju.

You should check out SONIC 2011. It’s basically Sonic.exe, but with completely new music by the guy who made the original Sonic.exe theme and some damn stellar spritework and animation by the people who made Sonic PC Port
