the real beauty of CS is the TENSION between mechanics moving vs. shooting speed vs. sound teamplay vs. individual skill CS is so compelling because the player is ALWAYS in tension, constantly forced into making decisions between competing needs (run, think, shoot, live-just like grandpa taught us) you touched on this, but it's the core elemental reason why CS is so insanely delicious to play
Right on target. Cs is always exciting and you can always come back even when it's 0-12, unlike other esports like LoL where you could potentially just have to wait 20 minutes to lose without any agency.
It's not easy to explain, but CS feels more like a "game" compared to other games. You could compare it to chess, it has some set rules, you know what something does and does not do. Other video games add new stuff all the time, or try to be realistic to immerse you more, but CS has been kinda perfected over time and everyone got so used to it that bigger changes could be impossible without changing how the whole game plays. I think that's why Coldzeras play for example is so popular, it stands out, it goes past the rules because luck was involved and it's not a conventional play you would see normally. Imagine if someone moved a figure differently in a chess match, or if someone added something new to it. And cool video :>
I like CS because you can punish players to a very high degree for making poor gameplay decisions and vice versa. I remember playing CoD 4, mw2, and Black Ops on Xbox Live (all great games within their own right!) and being frustrated with other players being able eek out the edge in gunfights because they can hold down B and manipulate their entire hitbox to shrink to the ground, and how they could also run around corners and, within 2 seconds, require 4 more bullets to kill because of how you can recharge your health. CoD was great as a game to play after school with the homies in that regard, but whenever I hunkered down and really played to win I would get frustrated at the whole experience. Bomb defusal in CS was like the better version of Search and Destroy in CoD to me.
Amazing video but man it reminds me I miss Quake, UT and arena shooters in general If only they didn't die off once Arcade and Tac shooters became more popular... (iD quake reboot when)
Yep you got it Its balanced so that everyone is on an even playing field Only Spectre divide is attempting something similar with abilities If its matches were longer it might be my new main
Roles in counter strike are more vague than other shooters. Still I would say if you pick shotguns you are something of a storm trooper kind of player you gotta use utility more efficiently to close in the gap the map plays a part too in effecting the playstyle of a person you can't play snipers in close quarter map like office sure its possible but not very viable. On the topic of snipers if u go sniper then ur aim and skill probably really good as such you are tasked with guarding passes etc less dependant on utility cuz u are most likely far away from any danger. Roles are niche in CS but they definitely exist weapon choice effects roles but the thing is you can switch weapons so roles can change multiple times in a single round. ALSO I think what makes CS unique is its punishment for dying if u die u have to wait the whole round to respawn if u die the chances of ur team winning goes down , dying in CS has a lot of implications u get less money in the round after u lose all ur weapons and equipment. Thats why CS feels very tense you can go from 100 health to 0 really fast in the blink of an eye and armor is less effective in CSGO than 1.6 so even the sense of safety isn't that much this is something majestic about counter strike you are armed to the teeth with weapons that can wipe out the enemy team in 10 seconds yet you feel unsafe the only comfort is being around teammates especially when playing with AI when all ur team dies and u are left alone the radio goes silent and now you are on your own can you hear the enemy at the right time to do the right move?. I think this is what makes CS so good add on it the unique treatment of weapons having actual recoil the game simply keeps getting better as you go on about what makes it good.
CS2 is unique due to the built in 50ms delay, the rubberbanding, the sound glitches, the broken elo system, the sluggish feeling gameplay and movement, bad servers, etc. Such a unique game. They completely fked up with CS2
the only answer to how CS is alive is hype....and gambling.... there's nothing special in that garbage now...not updating is a very bad thing... valve needs outside help to lead them by hand to fix issues that have been there for over a year and all the bugs and cheaters in the cs2... source, 1.6 and all the other versions were legendary...till we get to cs go... that's where they dropped focus... CS is not tac fps.. its gambling simulator with minigame that has ranks and way to use stuff you gambled for... its just sad to see game go from legendary game generations grew up with to game that's made to scam kids and supports cheaters cos they promote gambling to hundreds of thousands of ppl.....

The fact that no one quits counter strike. You stop playing for a few months, and then you come back.
no u dont u move to valorant
@@PaulIvanov-nz4imand realize its shit and you will get outplayed by kids then you comeback to cs to receive the same things but a bit more familiar
@@chinpanzee5672 and realize the toxicity isn't worth it and start playing a singleplayer game that doesn't judge how you play
@@ericrandall548 And then you come back to CS2 because if you didn't quit CS2 in the first 2 days you are immune to toxicity.

Other shooters are just videogames counterstrike is a sport
Dropping a nuke on a valorant community with the replay system is wild 😂
The CS is nuke is a real anti cheat or a decent developers
@@yobobby9 or devs at all
Riot is allergic to a replay system the same way Valve is allergic to a working anticheat
What cs makes unique to me is the great e-sports Szene, the is no other e-sports thats so thrilling and lovely to watch
when Wa Tzu makes a video I tune in.
"What Makes Counter-Strike Unique?" completely no anti-cheat

The customizability factor of CS2 is still not quite where it should be, sadly.
