    I don't have a Kubota tractor, or a belly mower on my tractors, but that is good information to know for those who does have both and want to fully use their equipment correctly.

    Keep your videos coming, luv watching and learning from them. Where did you get your " lev-O-Gage" meter at .

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks!!! I think the Lev-o-gauge came from amazon. That is not the best place to mount it because it is mounted on a slight angle. It needs to be perfectly straight up and down to work right.

    Thanks....! Still my 23s PTO LEVER is, often time, very hard to move selecting one of the 3 positions .... ( spending minuteS trying to engage it )

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You may have to engage the PTO then disengage it to switch between positions. It sounds like the gears are not meshing.

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You may have to engage the PTO and turn it off, you can do it quickly. Then try moving your PTO lever. It sounds like the gears are not meshing.

    I was at my Kubota dealer needing to replace the pto selector on bx 2200. (A large branch flew up from the tire, hit and bent i) Anyway while I was there I went to sales to see if I could run a brush hog and snowblower and cost. I have gotten older and 5 hours behind a walk behind snowblower after a storm has its ups and downs. And I have trails on the property which I spend half a day, twice a year maintaining with a walk behind. Both work well... both are paid for..... To buy or not to buy?

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You may be able to find a used 4' brush hog cheap. A snow blower would be very nice. You wouldn't have a gas engine to maintain like ay you do on the walk behind. If you get both items see if the dealer would cut you a deal.

      You can lock the mower up and let your 3 point hitch down, but you can't lock the 3 point hitch up and let the mower down.

    Any thoughts why both the mid and rear PTO will turn without an implement attached but won't spin once the mower deck is out back on? The mower deck is fine and will spin freely by hand. Thanks

    • @TractorTech

      Maybe there is a gear or shaft broken in the trans.

    I have a BX 2360 and I just got a BX 42 chipper. I did just as you showed but, when I try to get off the seat the tractor shuts off. I think that the safety switch is not letting me get off the seat. What am I doing wrong?

      There's a safety switch on the seat that has to be set to allow the operator to not be on the seat, there are videos out there showing it. The parking brake also has to be engaged and tractor in neutral as well if I recall.

    Hey next time before you start engaging pto's, you need to put some diesel in it.

    My BX25 PTO engage lever is stuck in Off, it feels physically bound-up. The belly mower pto spins. I am about to begin tearing it down, before I do are there any safeties, or common issues that I can try before I get into it?

    If the mower blade won’t engage when the levers are in the proper positions, any suggestions on how to trouble shoot or how to fix this?

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      With the tractor off, have move the levers and have someone look under the tractor to make sure they are attached.

    If I need to cross over some areas that I don't want mowed, do I just lift the deck and keep it running or disengage the PTO, cross that area, throttle down and start all over again?

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd just lift the deck. I "mow" over my gravel driveway and I keep the PTO engaged and just raise the deck.

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just depends on what you are crossing over. If its dirt, gravel, or anything you don't want the mower to potentially pickup and throw disengage the PTO at a minimum, it only takes a second. If you are just crossing over a sidewalk or driveway that is paved you can just leave the PTO engaged and turn around or cross to the other side of your yard for example. If you are crossing a ditch or something like that where you most likely will scalp the ground disengage and raise the deck to minimize the deck digging into the ground and possibly causing a situation where you could get stuck.

  • @matthewck9226

    Having issue getting my deck to stay up and my rear yard box going down. Both are moving up and down together. And the PTO is set on rear.. also. On the height of the blade setting. It goes to 4 ,,, on notch below Top level. Any recommendations are helpful.

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The PTO has nothing to do with the deck and 3 poin t hitch lift. Raise the 3 point all the way, then see if the deck will go into the top position. If it won't then the deck needs adjustment.

    • @matthewck9226
      @matthewck9226 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Has to be the deck. So which part of the deck needs attention. It will not go into top but dang close like it wants to

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@matthewck9226 You may have a different deck than me, but on mine were the rear linkages hookup there is a bolt with a jam nut. This is used to level it side to side. Loosen the jam nut, then loose the bolt a turn at a time til it will go into "top." Your deck will need to be releveled after this. Checkout this video on how to level the deck and you can see the bolts I am talking about. th-cam.com/video/Dk4kbDEx2MM/w-d-xo.html

      @matthewck9226 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. I actually watched your video on the deck a few months ago. I already see what I need to do to get it on top level. Thank you keep up the good work

    On bigger tractors like my 4060 you engage it idle, the implements are much larger and you avoid sudden shock to the equipment and the engine. Dont engage at anything much higher than idle on large machines. The small machines sure because they don't have the inertial mass to keep turning when an implement is powered on at idle.

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, Kubota says engage the PTO on the BX at half throttle. The smoothest engagement is 1700-1800 rpm.

  • @HarrietsChariot
    @HarrietsChariot ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks - this was super helpful. Having come from only using riding lawn mowers prior to owning a BX, I was a little unsure I was going through the procedure properly when mowing with the MMM.

  • @HuserHelpers

    How well do you like the chipper on the bx?

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like it pretty good, but on a bog pile it is a work out. A hydraulic feed would be better if you had much to do.

  • @grahmhw
    @grahmhw 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    540 RPM is a bit too slow for chippers. The chipper you're using 540 is s bear minimum on their spec. I wish Kabuta would improve the RPM of the PTO

    • @TractorTech
      @TractorTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The chipper works fine at 540. 540 is the standard pto rpm in the US especially on smaller tractors.
