thank you for the comment. I’m glad you found them helpful. Keep an eye out for a special video tomorrow. I'm doing my 3rd give-away of a Titanium Easy-Flux 125. It's easy to win and the rules are simple. Good luck!
Yeah, I love that it has a lift/scratch start on it. But it's not really an intentional feature of the Outlaw. Any DC stick welder can be a Tig welder. I have another video from a month or two ago, that describes it, what you need, and how to set it up.
Yeah, the first gen didn't have that. That's why they suspended sales for a while. They had to sell out every last machine from the stores and the warehouses so that they could introduce the new model with the CO2 monitor. That's why, for a while, you couldn't get one of these.
I have a new ( Apr2024) Outlaw. I did a similar move to the front but put a second wire on the opposite side to return to choke to open. Held everything with small D-rings and screw clamps.
To be clear, this machine uses the 35/70 connectors, correct? Not only do i want to grab a tig torch, but also run longer/heavier leads. And one more question, what is the thickest steel you've welded with stick on this machine? I'm hoping to start doing some weld repairs in my off time from tugboats. Lots of farm equipment and whatnot in my area, and lots of people need welding repairs done.
Yeah, 35/70, the big ones. For that video, I messed up when I built that tig torch and ordered 35/50, and it would go in the connection, but was too short to twist and lock it. So I had to re-make it. For leads..... I use Flex-A-Prene #1 wire. I have 20ft on ground, and 30ft in the stinger. I also carry two 50ft extensions that I can drop in if I need to. So far, I haven't had to use them. About 2 years ago, I built a pintle hitch plate for a dump truck. It was 1" plate. But, asking max thickness is irrelevant. With beveling and multiple passes, I could do 5" thick if I wanted to. There's not really a maximum thickness. When a welding machine states a maximum thickness, that's on a single pass. This Outlaw will burn up to 5/32 rods, so it's up to you.
I appreciate the feedback. I'm trying to find the 35-70 connectors online. Going to grab some 1/0 so if I ever need to go up to a 250 machine, I'll have the leads for it. I see 35-50s everywhere. My Tweco stinger from welding school (12 years ago) has the LC40 on it, so finding the adapters is twice the excitement. Your videos on this machine definitely persuaded my purchase. I'll be using for a while before/if I decide to upgrade. Again, much appreciated.
Really cool u post video on this I just bought one I want to run a MiG welder off mine not sure how to go by that any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a maintenance video coming in a few days, it will be covered in that video in detail. And it will have many other great moments in the video. You won't want to miss it! 😉
Love the videos. Great job and I’ve learned a lot from watching your videos.

Now, I'm sold even more on this machine, that is a cool function on a lift/scratch start set up, never wouod ja e though

@AllStarWeldingSC oh I know what you mean, I just mean that it is even more cool and it doesn't have that feature, like a cool Easter egg.
Yes I just received my outlaw yesterday, the choke is not automatic. You have to manually move it over to the run position
Well, that pretty much confirms my suspicions. Does yours have the solenoid over by the starter?
One guy said he was going to get a manual choke cable (like a push/pull) and run it to the front panel.
Something else I just noticed, it has a little led indicator light next to the start switch. It’s the carbon monoxide sensor led.
@@AllStarWeldingSCI like this idea 👍

Oh snap dropped a banger today huh lol, tign off the outlaw
I've got a good maintenance video coming out next
Not the ideal setup, but it works in a pinch
@ just left work, otw to harbor freight to pick up my outlaw it finally came in, sucks that it’s raining rn down here in Baton Rouge

Nice. One guy says he's going to route a push/pull knob to the front. I told him if he does it to send pics and I would feature it in a video
That's the idea I was having. I was bummed mine isn't automatic, but I guess adding extra pull cables is a small price to pay.

My Mig usually stays in my shop. If I run a wire feed welder in the Outlaw, it's usually Flux core. But I did run my Primeweld MTS200 off it on 110v.
@ how do set it up for that Iam iam curious on that
I wish you would show that auto choke set up on yours so I can compare to mine

Do you think it will work with my esab ruffian and where did you get your tig kit
It will, any dc stick welder run dc -
Yeah, I don't see why not. I got my tig kit at my welding shop, but Amazon may be cheaper
I'm not familiar with that welder, but it sounds like the governor.
Yeah, it's normal. Does the same when stick welding
It was just unexpected to keep doing it with the rig. But honestly, I like it. Makes it sort of like pulse but not quite
