    I am not a figure skater, but I rollerblade. I think its good practice for figure skaters. I was considering taking classes to figure skate, but I wasn’t really sure if I would devote a lot of time and money to do it. I think you are very talented!

      @@minasees hey (sorry if I don't talk about the video's main subject but I'm having my mind kinda messed up since april)
      I watched your video (the before/after one where you talked about your battle with food) and... I'm really thinking about ways to get healthier and eat better in lots of ways, but I wanted to ask you if you could tell me how much greens you eat and when do you eat (I mean what times of the day you eat and what do you eat in each part of the day. I'm really not knowledged about what things I should eat in each day, I would be extremely happy if you could give me some information about it).
      the real thing is, I'm a 14yo (15 in 3 months) that doesn't like the fact that he knows he's not a healthy person. my family make different kinds of food every day but still, I'm not having a good time with this youthful boredom
      and I'm trying to not think that exercising is bad for me. I really wanna try to get things going on but it just doesn't help you know? playing videogames all day, doing useless stuff, doing usefull stuff rarely, etc.
      I really hope that you are doing great and if you see my comment it would help a me a lot if you gave me a feedback. peace.

      @@pedropetruzzisilveira5126 hello fellow 14 year old (although i suppose you're 15 now)! my asian family cooks a LOT of delicious food, but as a golfer my tip for staying healthy while enjoying the food is to balance it all out. you may think healthy = no carbs, but that's very wrong. enjoy the carbs, enjoy the fibers, enjoy the protein, but make sure they all balance out so one doesn't overpower the other. as for exercise, don't start with the mindset of "oh I'm gonna get ripped >:D". start slowly, there's a ton of easy workouts for teens on youtube, and that's really helpful (especially with the pandemic going on). cut down on soda, reduce snack portions, and in a month i guarantee you're gonna see progress. sorry if this is late, but good luck! if you have no clue on the meals, my average daily meals are: breakfast= bagel with peanut butter, and a boiled egg, lunch= anything really, during lunch eat a LOT, so at dinner you don't eat much. dinner= simple egg, or a salad, or a sweet potato. also, time your meal times because eating too late, can make your healthy eating pointless. personally, my curfew for eating is around 6, but you can set it to 7 or 8 if you're still hungry at night!

    I played with inline skates some years in secondary school, i needed one month to get used to it enough (a learnt 180 jumps before i could use any break techniques). Then i didn't skate for many years and suddenly i just tried ice skating. I thought that i will fall may times, but in 3 hours i only fell 2 times and i felt very safe on the ice. I think the switch from rollerblades to ice skates is easier than the opposite, because on ice you have more control and less friction, but the essentials are the same, so you'll get the hang of it very quickly. There's new type of fear now, you have to fight it a little, but you already are good, so just do it. ;)
    I'm going to buy a new inline skate next week for skating until an ice rink is open nearby, so we can practice "together". =^.^=

      @BlackNorbX 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Saskia Shania Reed If you have good balance, lower body stability and control, both can be easy to learn. If you don't have these, you will improve them with rollerblades and i think it will help with ice skating later. :)

      @Saskia Shania Reed I've done aggressive trick/slalom skating then decided to try out ice skating, after about 15 minutes of messing about and testing the skates out I was able to do everything on ice skates. Except for jumps cause I was terrified of embarrassing myself

I'm also in college and it's nice to do something in your free time which isn't connected to school. I'm skating for 2 years now and it's the best sport ever with the best and nicest people. I would really recommend trying lessons! (a lot of rinks are open now and are promoting beginners lessons because of corona)

      Honestly just ask, tell her you to want to learn how to figure skate. Ask her to pay for a lesson and to watch you and if you both don't feel like its worth it then just don't. You can also try taking public transport. I live in London so everything is kinda near and most Londoners would agree that a 45-minute journey (not by car) (including waiting for busses/trains or doing any walking on the journey) isn't that much. If she doesn't want to drive you but will fund you just take the train or bus by yourself. If you want it get it.

  • @lilyapok6176
    @lilyapok6176 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    Hi!:) I'm not sure this will be of any help at all to you, but i rollerblade a lot and I started inline figure skating one year ago on them, so these are things i figured out that helped me a little (though really it's different for everyone.. and also I'm so sorry I'm really not sure if any of this is obvious or like, stupid advice, these are just mistakes I've actually made at one point). Um so I know figure skates are supposed to be laced kind of tightly, but you really can't do that with rollerblades (I'm saying because I've tried it, so I could get more control over them.. in the end it'll just hurt a lot and your feet will stop responding for the whole day), so.. I always set them just a little bit loose to warm up, then after 10mins or so I figure out if I want them to be tigher or not. Also wearing two pair of socks (with one a bit thicker than the other) has been a huuuge help, because with only one I find that my feet move around in the boot a lot and the friction always hurts so bad. With two they move around way less. After some time when you get used to it the lack of control over the skates feels just fine for rollerblading tricks, but yeah they're still very hard to manage when it comes to figure skating:( second thing is the rockering! when your frame isn't rockered at all you can try mixing up different wheel sizes. I'm really no expert on this but I think the one I use is called the banana rocker. basically the two middle wheels are bigger and the first and fourth wheels are a little bit smaller, so there's only two wheels constantly touching the ground. It really makes it so much easier to manage the skates and to do tricks, but it also feels reaaally unstable at first. Another thing about the wheels is that depending on their hardness they might be a bit too slippery, and depending on the surface you're practising on that could make you fall, even while doing simple stuff. I was told that 'softer' wheels are a bit harder to work with for speed, and they don't last as long but they have a lot more grip. On the other hand if the wheels feel 'stuck' and don't roll very well the screws inside the bearings might be too tight (or it can also happen that the bearings themselves aren't really good/too much used, so you might want to change them, or take them out and clean them). The last thing is about the heel brake, I know this feels confusing at first that there's only one, but its only purpose is to help you stop so you wouldn't ever need two.. and unlike in figure skates or quads it's never involved in tricks (it's actually pretty annoying most of the timex) especially for anything backwards). A lot of people remove it, but I really wouldn't recommend it until you know how to stop without it. Um so yeah, that ended up being kinda longx) I hope I actually made some sense lol. And as I said it depends on the person, so maybe this isn't helpful at all.. but anyways, I hope you find something that works for you in the meantime^^ I've been planning to get proper figure skates with an inline frame for so long now, and 2020 has succesfully ruined it all lol so I know the pain.. let's just hope it gets better❤

    Don’t worry I rollerblade and every 7 months when I get a new pair the first thing that comes off is the break lmao, then I cut up and take out the padding in the front if it’s to small then sew it, most of us that do free styling tend to not want the cushioning as much as a derby skater would need cushion

    I think i said this in one of your videos, but if you really wanna continue figure skating.. Inline figure skates are the best option! There are toe stops in front on both skates, three wheels its just like ice skates! Except wheels.. And spins are kinda hard too but possible! Just a recommendation :)

    Awesome job! I do have to say roller skates -the ones with 2x2 wheels- would be a way better option for what you’re trying to do! You’ve got roller blades which I find to be good for speed but are tricky to do tricks it.

    Hello) can you translate my comment through a translator (russian->english)
    Привет) меня зовут Аня. В последнее время меня очень интересует фигурное катание, из-за чего в рекомендациях ютуба мне высветилось твоё видео о твоём прогрессе в фигурном катании, достигнутом за 1 год. Я посмотрела твоё видео от начала до самого конца. Мне очень понравилась твоя атмосфера и я решила зайти на твой канал. Боже мой! Ты такая милая🥺 мне так нравятся твои видео. Они очень милые и душевные.
    Так к чему же я всё это пишу. На самом деле, я просто решила выразить свои эмоции, а также сказать что ты очень классная😳😂 желаю тебе удачи в фигурном катании
    PS я бы могла написать это английском, ведь я учу его 8 год🌝, но, на самом деле, мне лень составлять предложения, а переводчик сейчас находится в легком доступе для всех. Надеюсь, ты прочитала это
