I loved these old Dodge rams. Me and the bank owned a 1983 from 1985 until 1989. I traded it for a 1984 with only 11,000 miles on it and drove it for eight years. It was blue and silver short bed with a 360 engine. Absolutely loved these trucks. Loved the body style, interior everything. I was a loyal Dodge fan from my first dodge truck in 1976 until my last in 2001. I left Ram in 2010 when they priced them out of my reach. All together I owned seven Doge trucks over the years. Never had a single bad one and loved them all especially the eighties models with the Ram's head ornament on the hood. I thought those were so cool. I really need to find me one of them heads to keep as a collector item.
I have the same truck. 4 speed. The exact same seat cover. 400 dollar Ram hood ornament. I took mine off and put it on a shelf because they are frequently stolen.
They put the 5cyl 3.0l into some heavy stuff. Join OM617 swaps on FB to get some motivation and see what they can do. I think it'll move the dodge just fine. If you want more power you can always order a pump for it.
