My 98 Laredo had this problem today. It didn't work for me because I had already unplugged the wires. When I discovered that I decided to permanently fix it. The (purple with yellow stripe wire) inside drivers door is a negative wire. I cut and grounded it. I calling it an upgrade . Thanks for your video just the same. Well done.
You do not have to leave the key in the passenger door after unlocking it. If you have one key that works like it should and work in any lock and the ingition use it to unlock the door, remove it and use it to start the Jeep.
I was gonna sub but you have exactly 420 subs right now and who am I to mess that up... Plus.. I prefer the door panel removal method; jumper'r the connector post lock cyly or ground the purp/yello.
This system has always caused issues, primarily due to inheriting Jeep without a manual. And its tricky!! Hope this helps my daughter. At least this may help keep battery from being drained, also
Hey doo I have a question? Did your jeed is factory remote start. I have a jeep grand cherokee zj 1997 5.2L maybe my has the remote start too. Tell me what to look for in the remote start. I say your remote control has only two bottoms. My has 3 bottoms. Wait for your answer.
Guys, I went to the mall, parked it in the garage and suddenly my remote key wasnt working but the batteries were new and after a couple of days figuring out what to do while my jeep was still in the garage, I read that there could be an signal interference issue, and it really was.. I clicked it like a hunded times and 101th it worked, I came home and it worked normally.. so be patient and move remote around the dashboard as you click…because it could save you hundreds of $ at the mechanic…
