Dude, my heart goes out to you for all the shit you had to go through to nail this annoying problem. What a nightmare. But you pulled it off. This is very valuable info to folks with this Jeep alarm problem. Same thing happened to a friend of mine. The alarm started sometime in the night and killed the battery. Then, after charging it up, she couldn't start the Jeep. I'll be disconnecting all the indicators on her vehicle tomorrow. Kind thanks for sharing this. Very clear and understandable video. Instant LIKE! Greetings from Alaska.
Bro.....just bought a beat up ZJ for a fun starter project. Couldn’t solve the alarm issues, did the grounding and had battery drain. You’re a fuck boss, thank you for going so in depth. Much appreciated for everyone out here keeping these beasts alive. Keep making videos!
Did this this morning after finding your video when I got my jeep it had an aftermarket alarm which I removed well this morning my damn lights started flashing. Finally got it sorted and did this mod .
When I disconnect all key sensor switches all that happens is that the alarm can not be disabled. If I lock with the interior switch the alarm (light on dash) goes on, when I unlock with the key in the door the alarm is not turned off and when you open the door the alarm goes off. Am I misunderstanding something?
I have a 1995 jeep Cherokee 4.0 doing the same thing with the alarm and can’t turn off after putting in a new battery since I don’t have key fob and trying different sequences of unlocking not working… would this video be the same for a 95? Or is it different on the 97?? Thank you I’m advance
Hi, I’ve got a 97 zj but don’t have the remote to stop the alarm and the immobiliser. The technic to put the key on the passenger door or on the back don’t work… I don’t know what to do … I wish you will be able to help me
i have the 98 GC 5.9 limited with the alarm disable issue .Disconnected all the lock cylinder alarm switches .if i use the key fob to unlock ,it sets off the alarm ..horn etc..so i have to use my battery quick disconnect and clear the alarm ,then it will crank.when i unlock with the key only ,it starts no problems.so i never use the key fob anymore.any suggestions ? BCM ?
Sounds like it’s backwards = usually using the key to unlock the door sets off the alarm and using the fob to unlock the doors is fine. I don’t know what would cause that. If the lock cylinder indicators are disconnected then there shouldn’t be communication to activate the alarm?
@@lokiryder5235 It works the other way. lock cylinder indicators disconnected means there is nothing to turn OFF the alarm. Using fob or interior lock switch turns ON the alarm.
Man, if this fixes my issue that would be unreal! I've dug around Jeep forums for a while with no one really knowing any permanent solutions to this problem for 96-98 ZJs. How has no one discovered this earlier? How has your solution held up since you unplugged the indicators? Is there any reason to unplug all three of the indicators instead of just one? And are there any weird "side effects" of unplugging these indicators? Thank you so much!
I had a 95 all I did was find the alarm and unplug while the engine is running and that solve the problem permanently I have a video on my channel with the location.
I have a 95 that I haven't long purchased and just received a recall notice....mine has a lot of rust, very doubt a dealership will fix mine? Has anyone had the recall resolved?
95 Jeep dies while going down the road or no start ,cranks only ,remove clove box cover ,you will see relays on the right ,to the left is the security module ,remove upper screw, heat up long flat blade screwdriver with small torch ,melt off lower screw holder unplug module as car is running ,no more problems!!!
You are the man , I've been on and off battling
This bs for months thankfully my rig is 95 percent desert use .

You had battery drain because grounding the purple/yellow wire causes the interior lights to stay on

I have never understood how ignition disabling..that can go badly wrong..has ever been worth the liability to the manufacturer
Just lost my fob and realized I have this issue with my drivers door. kinda annoying but thanks for sharing this so clearly.

Does disabling these sensors prevent any of the other functions of the doors from working? Like the power locks or windows?
I have other videos called; electrical the # 1 bad. They show thinks I found with door switches and controls. Etc.
Electric door locks and windows should still work
I opened all the wires in both doors and boot lid, but alarm still goes on

3rd battery was about to install a kill switch. Thank you
Hi hun. I'm assuming this would work on a 1998 jeep cherokee xj as well? Please let me know, thankyou soo very much!!!
It might, you can try it but I have only done this on 1996 - 1998 Grand cherokees
Hello, do you know if this will work on a 2000 grand Cherokee limited.. thanks for the great video
You can try but I think it might only work from 1994-1998 because it was the same model of Jeep for those years.

Will this work for a 2000 Jeep Cherokee sport?
I only think it’s gonna work from a 1996-1998
Do you worry about the exploding gas-tank ?
