I am a foreigner living in Mandalay, but I will leave soon due to the situation! I applaud your efforts to raise funds for those who have been affected by war. Little do sanctimonious keyboard warriors know how much Myanmar people are struggling! I feel that Myanmar is not my country, so I shouldn’t stay. I feel as though the people of this beautiful country touched your heart as they did mine. I returned to the US in late June 2021 when I saw nothing good coming from the developments. Of course I brought my lovely Myanmar wife, to get away from certain struggles that have now been realized. We both look forward to returning to live when the injustice is vanquished. I am from Myanmar. You're safe as long as you do touristy things and go to touristy places: the junta wants tourist dollars to run their military machine to stay in power. However, if you are a journalist who wants to get the truth about the junta and the civil war, you will not be safe at all. That said, I'm glad you enjoyed the trip and back safely.

Was in Myanmar in October 2019 and loved the Country and my tour guide is a good friend. I really do hope that the situation settles down and the Country goes back to normality and free and fair elections. Most of all that tourists start visiting again

Actually Myanmar has 3-4 gas fields for good production but last 25-26 yrs ago the government at that time (also military regime ) had agreed with Thai government to sell the gas from Myanmar ! The government sell all gas production to Thailand and Myanmar ppl has no electricity ! They sell 1-2 millions dollars per day to Thailand! So that Bangkok and other industrial zone have electricity but we are in the dark! Sad for my country

As a Burmese speaker, I wish foreigners would just call the country Burma. They can't pronounce the word Myanmar properly, it's not even used by Burmese speakers as we all know the word is a written form of the country's name, not the spoken form. Hi there, sorry you feel this way about the efforts I put into this Myanmar series. My main focus was to have a positive impact on my stay and I believe I am accomplishing this, just a little. There are only a handful of people who are considering going to Myanmar at the moment and this is NOT because of hyped media or “TH-camrs” like me who are (in your eyes) dramatizing the situation. Yes you can. But I wouldn't go into a bank as the rates are probably not great. I'd go to a small exchange shop
Usually you can't. You have to look for (better registered) currency exchange shops.
Getting in is easy, but I always feel they're checking more intensively now when you're passing immigration for departure.

Your creating content for your channel to attract new viewers and keep them watching ! That's what you do as a You-tuber. What your showing is just like its been there over at least the last 15 years I have been visiting. Sure the war has been in the media more and it flairs up now and then but it no less safe to visit Burma and all the amazing tourist sights.... But But But you say... just like your other videos of Burma your dramatizing it for views. The people need tourism as much as they always have. Your other videos were turning people away...
Hi there, sorry you feel this way about the efforts I put into this Myanmar series. My main focus was to have a positive impact on my stay and I believe I am accomplishing this, just a little. There are only a handful of people who are considering going to Myanmar at the moment and this is NOT because of hyped media or “TH-camrs” like me who are (in your eyes) dramatizing the situation. This is because the country is very unstable at the moment due to the military coup. I think I understand why you feel this way if you just watched this video of Chai Travel 🙏
