Thanks for this. I would like to suggest if you could blur the whole body of the local guide gentleman on Shwedagon pagoda. It's because he could get into trouble simply by talking to you about the situation in Yangon. The military or police could arrest him any time they like if they saw this video. The suppression is unbelievable in Myanmar.

The man you met in Shwedagon pagoda said it's not safe to share too much information about military but he still did tell everything from power cut-outs, inflation to the fleeing of our people to foreign countries Plus some warnings to travel
I feel him as i am also a burmese myself

I was looking at one more video of people visiting Yangon during this special period, roof top cocktails, shopping malls, A video where it s almost not mentioned what locals are going through. And then i found your video today, quite the opposite. simple, just a phone to film, and a great insight of what is Yangon now. You try local food , betel nuts. You have an hotel with aircon, but you do mention locals who dont....loved it.

@@Chai_Travel Its true. Myanmar is once a very safe and enjoyable place. But suddenly, due to those military coup things, our country becomes the worst place to live. Many people lost their lives, lost their homes due to the burmese military. Many young burmese people including me had to separate with family and leave the country to avoid the military recruitment by forced. It is unsafe for burmese boys to travel in Myanmar. Because military can just kidnap into their recruitment without any reason. Hopefully when everything are over, I will be back to my country again.
Stay safe and never trust the words of military or police.
Wish you have a wonderful times in Myanmar ❤

Thank you for visiting Myanmar which is a beautiful country and millions of innocent and friendly people live there. It is a country with rich of unique own culture and heritage. Myanmar people want to live peacefully. Every country all over the world has own laws that to be complied with by locals or foreigners. Myanmar is one of the world's sovereign and independent nation too. Sadly, Almost all western media express the country information with only negative side. The crisis can be resolved on the table peacefully and later via parliament after the new election held (assuming by next year) but the the rebel groups avoid it. They just bring troubles to the people. People have been suffering not because of the local crisis only but also because of the sanctions that obstruct the foreign investment that can create millions of local jobs. No matter what, Myanmar has many safe places which are free from rebels and people are still living peacefully there . People need to move forward in daily life.
Hopefully Myanmar and the people will gain peace all over the country soon.

What do you mean rebel group avoid it? What do mean rebel group cause trouble to people? Are you seriously? OMG I know you are from military organisation which kill many innocent people and destroy our country since 2021. We, the real people will never never accept those fake election which military will hold, it is not about rebel group, it is us, the Myanmar citizen. We will never accept military rule and that government never and never. People are not save in rebel group area. Yes it is true. Do you know why? It is because your military organisation always do air attacks and kills all people because that people don't accept them😂. How childish and disgusting your military group like you. I was there 14 years ago. That pagoda is the only place I was ripped off, wanted $20 after showing me around the temple, gave them $10. More than a days pay for most people in Burma. Other oddities were right hand drive cars driving on the right hand side of the road. The Generals decided to swap from left to right sometime in the 60s. The same Generals banned motor cycles on that side of the river on account of them getting in the way of their own personal cavalcade. The other side of the river is very interesting. I went over and was shown around by a young couple on a pedal Trishaw, he peddling and she tour guiding. Would love to have seen more of the country but the rainy season was particularly bad that year. Will go back one day but only if the politics changes.

Another TH-camr in Myanmar right now is posting videos that only show tourist attractions and food and not mentioning anything about war or how bad things are. They might be wise because the gov't might see your videos and come arrest you. That was sweet that you thought of Noona when holding the flowers.

Yeah I think when you’re posting and stay away from the real problems Myanmar faces right now and only show the tourist areas, don’t film in conflict areas, government buildings, army, and police, filming is not a problem. :) Noona is always on my mind 😅😊🥰

The city has changed a lot since I was last there (2012). Back then all the cars were much older and falling apart (some missed a door or all the interior lining was missing).

Be careful on the roads though! The journey to other parts of the country (especially the upper parts of the country; above mandalay) might be a little too dangerous and scary

Man, was thinking about Myanmar/Burma the other day, and what would be the risks to go at least to Yangon and you made a video 😮 it's a lovely video, different than the usual, how much is the total cost for your trip, or is it still ongoing? And how much money did you exchange at the airport 🤔

    • @Chai_Travel
      @Chai_Travel  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Ey, the money exchange in town will give you better rates but it’s good to leave the airport with some local money in your pocket. Hotels starting from 20usd, food can be cheap as 1.- USD per meal. Please when visiting try to tip as much as possible 🙏 I hope this helps

    Hello Chai 👋
I’m a Burmese who lives now in Yangon City. As a burmese citizen
I want to ask for help to the Western citizens (Foreigners) like you. We are now under militery coup since 2021 1st February after 2020 Gov election. Its has been over 3yrs. We suffer so much violence especially in the undevelop area like abroad. In our country there has 8 National Races.
    “Races
    1. Kachin
    2. Kayah
    3. Kayin
    4. Chin
    5. Burma
    6. Mon
    7. Rakhine
    8. Shan “
All races are suffering violence like Air Bombing. So many people across the country try to escape and run from these junta. We need helpppp.
So please share this situation “What’s happening in Myanmar”
to the humanitarian organizations as much as you can.
And I want to request you that please be safe my words and don’t tell anyone.
    Love You Chai❤
