I love Bangkok Pat. I like that he shows vintage footage and photos in his videos when telling about the history there and it’s usually not ancient history but history from 50 to 100 years ago. That makes it feel more relatable to me. Plus, he’s a huge cat fan like I am.
Some very valuable information there Chai and thanks, as always, to Bangkok Pat for his input. There is not a better man for feedback and advice and he too has his own TH-cam channel of his same name, 'Bangkok Pat' which Chai has provided the link above and well worth following. Cheers champ!!
5:10 Agree on this point, Yesterday I want to find a ride from Don Mueang airport to Talad Plu after I landed grab will charge 340 baht after 15% discount but I need sometime to walk from gate 53 to exit area then the price go up to 430 baht after 15% discount, so I give airport taxi a chance in total it's cost me 310 baht include 50 baht of airport taxi fee.
After 32 years living in Bangkok I've only been pickpocketed once (that I know of) and it was the "touristy" area of Soi Saladaeng just off Silom Rd. A young boy, maybe 12 years old, came up to me holding 3-4 loaves of bread in plastic bags that he was trying to sell to me. Pressing the loaves against my thigh it hid his other hand that helped itself to the Thai Baht cash in my jeans' pocket. Totally unaware that I was just pickpocketed I very soon afterwards luckily popped into a 7-11 to buy something and it was then that I noticed all my cash was gone. Immediately suspecting the kid, I went up to him and asked for my money back. He said " how much do you want back?" him thinking I didn't know how much cash I had in my pocket. I said "all of it". While with the kid a tuk-tuk driver approached us to "help" thinking I was another farang who couldn't speak Thai and the driver would "translate". I suspected the driver was actually in cahoots with the kid who brought him here to prey off unsuspecting farang. When the tuk tuk driver found out he wasn't needed he left. I'm a farang apparently who "รู้มาก".
That’s an interesting story! Thanks for sharing! Btw good on you for carrying just cash when you’re out :) I never go out with all my cards. Always be cautious but Bangkok is over all very safe, everywhere, any time
Man, Bangkok Pat is a popular BKK expert! I see him a lot. Ii was surprised he didn't give an absolute "don't drink tap water" answer. My Thai wife will brush her teeth with it but even she would never drink it. Is there better water quality in BKK than in the rest of Thailand?
Some water is stored on hotel roofs in stainless tanks. I was out of toothpaste and just rinsed my toothbrush with tap water. I still remember the taste of the water (beach town in Thailand)-. I immediately hit the minibar for pop to rinse my mouth with...
Yeah there’s always a chance something can fall in a tank that shouldn’t be in there so you better just drink, either way filtered water or bottled water 😊
Een grab is veiliger om mee te rijden het is hun eigen auto, iedere keer als wij de taxi namen ,vroegen we ons af of dit de next max verstappen is zo hard rijden ze.

That’s some negative perspective 😅
Bangkok Pat got bitten by a Thai Street dog , he tells on one of his video Chai.
Yes! He told me too! He needed some hospital care after that 😅 luckily there was no severe harm
@ Yes, he is a History legend of Bangkok/Thailand 🇹🇭
You’re back to a country where always have negative things to say. Why?
Example please
@@peeemm1174 example? Go back to his previous vlogs. Sheesh lol
@@3553sean I doubt he or she will go back and look at past videos just to help you prove a point, Sean.
