    Cheers, Will. I love that there is no wasted time in your videos. You obviously have thought out what you wanted to say, prior to filming. Also, thanks for speaking up, speaking clearly, without cracking your voice. It made you so easily understood. Very well-done. Respect, from New Orleans, Louisiana, United States!

      Shuffling Fate itd prob be easier to think about it like how i do. check
      all of your Downstrokes are when you should apply pressure for the thick lines and your upstrokes you remove all weight and barely apply any pressure so you are basically using the Very Tip of your marker so get you the Thin lines and things Should come easier for you. Hopefully. oh and while writing this i noticed he basically said the same exact thing i did later on in the video. my bad for the long paragraph :p

      Junko Okada This. Japanese calligraphy was developed from Chinese calligraphy, just like Japanese characters were developed from Chinese characters. Thus, no self-correction was necessary in the video.

    Hi Will, love your videos. Think I'll sign up for the course when it comes out, but could you include some content on any differences for lefties? I'm a south paw, and while I was trying to follow along with this, it seems like the angle that I hold a pen at makes a big difference in outcomes.

    How are you holding the pen? At a 45 degree angle? I cant seem to get my brush pens to go 'flat' on the down stroke to make it fatter....
    Thanks for any help!

      your brush pen is probably to stiff.

    • @kinstar
      @kinstar 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      always hold your brush pen at 45 degrees it allows you to use more of the brush from the tip to the belly instead of just the tip. or like someone else said you might be using a hard tipped brush pen

    Very Nice Video, but i really wanted to know if you use normal copy or special paper :>

    • @livage9194
      @livage9194 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ceci Pandacore I don't know which paper he used in his video but from personal experience I can say that normal printing paper is not very good for handlettering or calligraphy since it is too thin and bleeds fast so I think he used a special paper. If you want I can link you one. I actually started out using printer paper and destroying my pens so, if you want any suggestions just ask.

    I struggle on how to hold the pen tbh, every line looks thick regarless of how much pressure. Maybe it's the pen, or maybe its me. Should I hold it like, sideways or in a way the tip touches the paper?

    hey! i'm a left-handed, and starting to get into hand lettering and such. and I wonder, is there any difference? on the strokes, or maybe how you grab the pen. Do you have any tips?

    • @britainchew3503

      Francesca G mabye go backwards, it might help that you don't smudge it

    • @gratituderanch9406
      @gratituderanch9406 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Francesca G I had issues too with wanting to hold the pens to upright. I'm not the kind of lefty that crooks my hand (how do I explain this) writing from above and crooning the hand down flexed.
      I'd Love a lefty brush letting video!!!!
      SOMEONE DO IT PLEASE

    • @zakj7169
      @zakj7169 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Francesca G Also a lefty, and I hate smudging. After school I leave with layers of graphite on my hand. Still trying to find a way around it. Also don't understand how to do the crooking method thing without hurting my hand

    • @orangelita1128
      @orangelita1128 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Francesca G We lefties experience the same problem. I’ve got a lot of things to improve when it comes to proper strokes and cleanliness of work. I’ve got a lot of slight smudges on my works and it doesn’t look good... Well, sometimes I think that I should practice writing with my right or write backwards? Sometimes our uniqueness turns us down too.

    The trouble I am having is when I release the pressure to come back up like on the connector or the strokes you use for the U or lowercase i is that the line doesn't become thin like it is supposed to. Do you have any advice or tips for this problem? Thanks in advance for any help.
