Haha I remember when I lived in the woods years ago and had NO cable yet a 60” flatscreen and a DVD player my old man gave me box full of dvds and #5 was in there as well as mission impossible 2, oceans 11 and some other shit I will NEVER watch again. Inferno is honestly my favorite Hellraiser sequel (besides Hellbound) I feel more people would come around if it was just a standalone movie about Detective Joe Thorne and his downward spiral, there’s some things to like about this entry for me, it reminds me of what a episode of Law & Order with Hellraiser elements would be and even Dexter to a certain extent.
I think it's a pretty good psychological horror film too, in the same vein as Jacob's Ladder or Angel Heart. Good cinematography, above average acting, some cool/weird ideas, and overall it leaves you pretty unsettled. I understand the criticism though that it just isn't a good Hellraiser flick.
It reminds me of the standalone stories from the comics. I really enjoyed this one. Strangely, I think if we just kept Pinhead out of it but kept the other Hellraiser connections, it would be a truly good film.

Hellraiser inferno is probably the best one from this batch. It's one of my favorites from the sequel's. The story is great and it has great concepts. Plus Doug Brady still kills it as pinhead. Hellseeker is decent as well. Deader and hellworld NO. 21:50 is funny
The pristine hospital bed that, when he places his hand on it, becomes soaked in blood was a pretty great visual. Same with his family frozen on that rotating obelisk. Inferno definitely had its share of disturbing imagery, if not outright gore.

The guy from the Allstate commercials is Dean Winters. He was awesome in OZ and Rescue Me and gave my favorite performance for that one season of Wayne. I guess he was in John Wick as well.
Hellseeker and Inferno werent half bad, even if they werent initially hellraiser scripts…They each were kind of like a budget Jacob’s Ladder, and definitely creeped me out when i was watching them at 2am as a young teenager lol
I am of the same mindset as you about these movies, but I lean the other way. I think that they would have been great ways to fill out the lore if just a little more care had been put into it. Especially considering that the idea of other people going to Hell for you is a theme in this new one, they could have explained why in the first movie the Cenobites didn't take Kirsty's deal because she didn't do it right the first time.
Hellraiser: Hellseeker and Judgement are my favourite of the straight-to-DVD films and while I don't despise all the other, these two are really the only ones that add to the lore (and I found most watchable)
Judgment was just a 90-minute spit-fetish film that ruins the lore... Hellseeker however I'll agree with you on cause it finishes Kirsty's arch in an unexpected way.

I think they had also lots of scripts relating to bodybuilding --> "HellGainer" plus a sequel "WheyRaiser" followed by the doublefeature "RoidRaiser and "HellRoider"" to be completed by "RippedRaiser", "JackedRaiser", "HellSquatter", "HellSpotter" and "RackRaiser". Ultimatly ending in "GymRaiser"

Inferno is my favorite sequel. It's the For Your Eyes Only entry in the franchise, a low-key back-to-basics movie after the series had peaked in absurdity--and literally went into space. (Moonraker: Bloodline, anyone?) At the time of its release, it carried two stigmas: it was the first one with no involvement from Clive Barker, and it was the first one to not be released in theaters. But I think it could've grown more appreciated over time if not for the later sequels that directly copy its formula. One Inferno is good. Four Infernos, not so much.
It feels like they had interesting ideas for some movies but then they throw Hellraiser into them and it's like what. I watched these ones one after the other. I currently have the Hellraiser collection but it's only 3-8, and I still need to watch 9 and 10 cause I like to watch horror movies before I watch James do a kill count for said movie.
No Chris, there no fans of these movie, they are all bad. One though four are canon to me & these are just spinoffs. Probably would've been better as hour episodes for a hellraiser tv show. Also man your doing amazing work dude.
What I love about these direct to video sequels is that unlike the good old ones, they literally put you in hell, mission accomplished.

I agree. Watched Inferno after the first trilogy and imo blows 'Hell On Earth" out of the water. It also captures the eeriness of the first 2 films.
