Awesome! I just turned over 376,000 miles on my ‘06 Corolla. I’ll film a video when it reaches 400,000 miles. At the rate I’m driving now, that will probably occur sometime late next year. I still have the original exhaust on my Corolla, too. Also still have the original engine. Transmission went out at 302,000 miles. I replaced all the shocks and struts within the last year or so because the originals were still on the car. I replaced the radiator a couple years ago because it got a hairline crack in it. It wasn’t malfunctioning at all, but I did it as a precaution. The AC compressor finally went out a year ago, so I replaced the original back then. Had to replace the alternator once. Also the starter. Other than that, the car is been really great! Still rides really well and gets great gas mileage! It always passes the biannual smog inspections as well. Burns very clean. I wonder if your odometer will freeze at 299,999 miles like mine did? It seems that certain Corollas from around 2006 or so have this glitch in the odometer. I keep track of the mileage now using one of the two trip odometers. They are great cars! Thanks for your comment!
Awsome, my 2003 Corolla as well stopped turning at 299999, had Toyota replace odometer and it now reads 175000, there was about 2 weeks for unaccounted miles as I was going through Toyota to replace the odometer so true miles is just over 475000 miles, still runs great!
Cool! Thanks for sharing your story! My odometer is almost at 385,000 miles. I just had to replace the radiator fan a few weeks ago. It still had the original fan in there, and it finally wore out after going for 384,000 miles over the last 14 years. Best cars ever! I’m sure you’ll agree!
i just bought my daughter a 2006 Corolla yesterday from a retired couple, 67k miles!! and looks great 9/10 interior and exterior. should last her a few decades...lol
Excellent choice! Mine is an ‘06 as well and is holding up splendidly. I’m just about to hit 390,000 miles on the odometer. Still runs great! I’m sure your daughter will be very happy with it. They are very reliable cars and well worth the money. And yours only has 67,000 miles on it, and it’s 14 years old!
Hey Ryan, I also have a 2006 Corolla. If you want some hubcaps that will stay on, I would recommend Toyota part # 61121. These are the 5 spoke hubcaps that were used on the '05-'08 Corolla S, but they will fit just fine on yours, as long as you have the original 15 inch wheels. I bought a set of four back from eBay in 2013 and since then, I've gone 5 years and about 100,000 miles without losing a single one! For whatever reason, the design of #61121 seems to stay on our wheels better then the other Toyota hubcaps... weird.

400,000 miles, eh? I totally believe it. I think my car is going to do the same thing. However, it’s going to take a little bit longer to reach 400,000 miles than before because, as you probably noticed, I have really cut back on making road trips to explore abandoned mines. After I announced my semi-retirement almost 2 years ago in May 2017, I have done just that - semi retired! And I’m loving it! After 10 long years of exploring over 50 mines a year, it was time to call it quits and change focus. I’m still getting out there once in a long while but definitely not with the frequency or the interest I once had. I only made three trips during 2018. Believe it or not, I still have a lot of footage from other trips earlier than that which I haven’t even edited and uploaded to TH-cam yet. Those will be coming over the next year or so - I hope. My interest is at such an all-time low that I’m not even interested in editing that old footage into coherent videos that I can upload to my channel. LOL Oh well.... Good times, though!
Exploring Abandoned Mines and Unusual Places thank you Frank for sharing. Your videos of mine exploring really got me interested in the other channels. The other Frank, BC Frank and Justin. Etc. Thanks for the memories. I grew up on Mojave and surrounding areas. Bell mountain, including the Lucerne valley where my family is from before settling in Santa Ana. And yes as a white boy I was hassled alot. Hell I remember when there still was furniture in the houses in Rhyolite. Before the whole town burned. The Antelope valley, Apple Valley, Borrego springs. On and on my dad took care of the watering holes in the desert along the aquaduct. 29 palms area/Anza Borrego desert had the most mines in the 70's you couldn't swing a dead cat with out falling into a prospect pit. The Forest disservice closed probably 75 percent of the mines by the 90's including the razing and burning historical American History and property. Disgrace and disgust with the way this place is going. That's why I left Kali. I'm in S. Ore. Now for a decade, beautiful place but no work for an old guy like me. I'll be looking for your new interest soon God bless and say hi if your ever in the area. Jeffrey
Thanks, Jeffrey, for your comment! I always like hearing stories from older people who explored back in the 1970s, 1980s, and the 1990s. Those were the glory days for abandoned mine exploration, that’s for sure. Back then there wasn’t the constant nanny-state government looking over your shoulder to see where you were going and what you were doing. The mines were still around and accessible for those daring enough to go in them. You are absolutely correct when you say that the government has destroyed many historic sites and artifacts. I know on my own TH-cam channel there are a few mines that I documented years ago that are no longer extant. Hard to believe, but it’s true! You mentioned Bell Mountain. Did you ever get inside the Sidewinder Mine there? I guess they backfilled and destroyed that one many years ago. Someone else left me a comment a couple of years ago saying they were in that mine before it was destroyed, and they said it was quite extensive with graffiti dating back to the late 1800s! Don’t worry - I’ll get back out there in the hills as soon as the spring thaw sets in and will begin documenting more abandoned mines and unusual places. It just won’t be with the intensity that it was two years ago. On another note, you have been a long-time supporter here, that’s for sure, and I really appreciate that. Thanks for your comments today. I really enjoyed reading them.
Exploring Abandoned Mines I have one of the spookiest stories from bell mountain you may not beleive......... My Mom and Dad graduated Santa Ana high '66... there they became friends with Lee Medley (righteous brothers) fast forward 11yrs. to 1977 we ride bikes alot all over the Mojave dry lake and surrounding desert areas all the way to mexico. One time riding with Lee and family, we all had bikes, my cousin and I rode to a huge haulage adit at Bell mountian that was approximately 10 to 15 feet high and as much wide we rode our bikes deep inside because we were dumb (at least we wore helmets) now here comes the hard to believe part..... We went deep into the haulage to look back at stars in the middle of the day. I was about 10, I think. So I didnt drink or smoke at the time, and I have a Polaroid of that day with my cousin on our bikes (Bultaco and Yamaha) saved to digital before it was destroyed. I also caught the tail end of the chili bar under the rock at Mojave dry lake airstrip after *they* destroyed the place under the rock. about a 100 people had homes around that area and one guy would shoot a shotgun at us when we rode by but we were to fast. Your channel brought those and many more fantastic memories back fresh. Thanks .
You just reached engine break in, these cars run for ever, my teacher have one and he has some 1,2 mill km on his, never replaced engine or trans just normal servicing and a few suspension pieces that wear, it looks and drives like new it's ridiculous, but that is Toyota for you, they made some great cars in the 90's.
Congratulations! Sounds like you are taking very good care of your vehicle as well. I forgot to mention in my video that I also replaced my motor mounts this past fall, too. Just more basic maintenance when things wear out. Got almost 370,000 miles out of my original motor mounts, so I think that’s pretty impressive.
Saw the title and thought it was a Scotty Kilmer video. Lol We just went over 100k with our 2006 trailblazer. Never had a problem. Definitely don't drive as much as you!
No, there hasn't been a lot of cost involved to maintain it. At least not in my book. The new transmission cost me around $2000 a few years ago when the original failed at 302,000 miles. New shocks and struts were around $500 bucks last year, and my car still had the original shocks and struts on it and they held up fine. I also replaced all three motor mounts late last year. The originals finally wore out last summer. That was around $500 or so. I've had my car for almost fourteen years, and it still drives and rides great! People cannot believe how old it is or how many miles it has! Best investment ever!
I’ve been keeping track of the mileage using one of the two trip odometers. The trip odometer records in 10,000 mile increments. I just posted a new video a month or so ago with an update on my 2006 Corolla. It now has 430,000 miles on it! It just keeps on going and going!
A friend of mine had a Chevy 454 truck, that made Regular trips to take cars to Mexico, racked up 1 million miles then Dodge came out with a Cummings Diesel truck, that truck made it 1.5 million miles before he retired as long as you do maintenance they'll last they'll laughed
Back in the day when I was exploring abandoned mines on a regular basis before semi-retiring in May 2017, I would spend hours researching old mining reports and looking over topographic maps and things like that.
v Check out my other video of when my Corolla reached 300,000 miles a few years ago. Certain Toyotas from this time period have a glitch where the odometer freezes at 299,999 miles. My odometer did just that. It’s in the video that I posted a few years ago here on my channel. So I have been using one of the two trip odometers to keep track of my mileage ever since. That is what you saw in this video. The trip odometers only record in 10,000 miles segments before resetting to zero, so that’s what you saw happen in this video.
I don't doubt your claim but why were you showing the trip B reading instead of the actual odometer reading? I have a 1994 corolla that I still drive and the odometer stopped working 10 years ago at 245,000. MI.

I'll be looking for your new interest soon
God bless and say hi if your ever in the area.
Exploring Abandoned Mines
I have one of the spookiest stories from bell mountain you may not beleive.........
Thanks .
Great anecdotes, Jeffrey! Thanks for posting them here.
520,000 roughly on mine. I had a note pad and I think my lady took it, and threw away my mileage notes haha.
That’s awesome! That’s a lot of miles. Sorry to hear you lost your notepad where you were keeping track of your mileage.
My 1996 Toyota avalon has 250,000 miles on it, new radiator system, new motor mounts, new alternator, new gas neck, drive like a breeze
Lol
We just went over 100k with our 2006 trailblazer. Never had a problem. Definitely don't drive as much as you!
Hello Saludos Desde Perú ❤
Jorge campos Hello, Jorge! It’s nice to have a viewer from south of the equator. Thank you!
Yay another peruvian viewer, me 2😁
I'm currently in the market in a first car, I might just get one of these cars!! they seem reliable has it cost a lot to maintain?
No, there hasn't been a lot of cost involved to maintain it. At least not in my book. The new transmission cost me around $2000 a few years ago when the original failed at 302,000 miles. New shocks and struts were around $500 bucks last year, and my car still had the original shocks and struts on it and they held up fine. I also replaced all three motor mounts late last year. The originals finally wore out last summer. That was around $500 or so. I've had my car for almost fourteen years, and it still drives and rides great! People cannot believe how old it is or how many miles it has! Best investment ever!
Wow, Congrats! Shooting for 1 million miles, Frank?
Is there anyway to contact the person doing the video I have a idea of a mine they may b able to find in Arizona
Hope my corolla goes that long its just a baby at a little over 179,000
How do you that it's now 370,000 miles though? The odometer doesn't say that
I’ve been keeping track of the mileage using one of the two trip odometers. The trip odometer records in 10,000 mile increments. I just posted a new video a month or so ago with an update on my 2006 Corolla. It now has 430,000 miles on it! It just keeps on going and going!
Very nice car to last that long
My Toyota corolla 2007 just got 299,999 glitch. How do I count my miles now? :S
Use one of the two trip odometers. They run in 10,000 mile increments. That’s what I’m doing.
Thanks!
Heck yeah!
Good for you!
Goes to show that that foreign crap as some people call it is built for longevity.
My Tdi volkswagen said hi 170 000 miles ago
I was once run over by a Toyota, oh what a feeling.
Wow!
Toyota ftw
My odometer in my 93 2.2 little Toyota truck went out at 225k about 10 years ago, I don't know how many miles are on it
A friend of mine had a Chevy 454 truck, that made Regular trips to take cars to Mexico, racked up 1 million miles then Dodge came out with a Cummings Diesel truck, that truck made it 1.5 million miles before he retired as long as you do maintenance they'll last they'll laughed
370,000 divided by 14years = 26,428 p/yr divided by 365 =72.4 miles p/day =
awesome someone tag Scotty Kilmer he wasn't joking about Toyota Corollas! lol
where dors it 370.000 miles ?
Have my car reach 310,000 mileages recently.. 😁🚙🙏
Awesome! Congratulations! You must be taking very good care of your car. Basic maintenance and upkeep will keep it running forever.
Hey. Explorate the jarvis mine!?
Well ehrm dont sell it yet :-) but ask money from toyota this is the best add for them ever hehe
Two great pieces of advice, Rolf!
We have a guy who comes into my work with a 2008 Dodge dully Cummings with 474k miles on it.
Awesome!
Well, we know its definitely not ford now lol
TheValorousDong yeah 300,000 miles ago he been walking
@@plymouth-hl20ton37 lmao
distance around the equator is 40,076km so you have driven the equivalent of many times around the world 😃
Nice! ^
How do you know where mines are??
Back in the day when I was exploring abandoned mines on a regular basis before semi-retiring in May 2017, I would spend hours researching old mining reports and looking over topographic maps and things like that.
Takes a lickin!
It equals to 3,700 km/month.. more than twice the common usage on Mexico !!!
It's odd you don't set it so it shows the total mileage since you're taking a video of the mileage.
v Check out my other video of when my Corolla reached 300,000 miles a few years ago.
Why are you uploading old videos?
This is not an old video. I filmed it about eight hours ago.
Exploring Abandoned Mines and Unusual Places ohhhhhhh they are updates on how many miles you keep driving that car. Nice!
nice
Hello Saludo desde ecuador
Dang my 99 Tacoma is at 365k with original power train
Congrats i guess
I don't doubt your claim but why were you showing the trip B reading instead of the actual odometer reading? I have a 1994 corolla that I still drive and the odometer stopped working 10 years ago at 245,000. MI.
Dude, really? He explains exactly why both in the description AND during the video.

Dross?? 😊
my 02 corolla is at 203,000 miles
Congratulations! I’m sure it’s still running great, right?
@@AbandonedMines11 yea she still going strong, i commute 500 miles a week
Awesome! Had a 77 Corolla and I never had a single mechanical failure. Eventually, it got T-boned and they totaled it.

my 2000 toyota camry started leaking from the engine at 200k. I miss it.
Ahh yes, the ol' leaky engine problem...

Nothing to write home about. American cars can do that too these days
Why won't you start exploring russian mysterious places like Death Valley in Yakutsk?
