- The Breen family home is a multi-level mess where cobwebs hang from the ceiling, and where laundry, dust and dog hair are piled up everywhere. A single mother with a full-time job, Vicki’s two kids treat her like a personal servant… And she’s so busy being their maid, chauffeur, and bank, that she has no time to herself or to get her house in order. That’s where domestic diplomats - Kim Woodburn and Mike Chalut - come in. They vow to help Vicki take control of her household, and get the kids to take some initiative… But can they get through to the admittedly lazy teens? And just how will they respond to authority?

This is what happens when you don't teach them early.. I mean my 6 year old knows how to clean up after himself!

Then comes puberty. Then with some help at the age of 24 he moves out, and keeps his own home neat. Never asks for money.

The young man has actually got a fun personality. He's cute and so is his sis. They really pitched in nicely. lp
He may be her little boy but not a good canadate for a husband or boyfriend, just my opinion. But maybe with intervention they will be better

I agree with you.
He would likely have less blemishes in his face if the house was cleaner. Changing pillowcovers and towels often makes a difference, and less dust and dirt around as well.
The son has got away with doing nothing and the daughter is resentful being expected to clear up.
I know I was growing up
She created her own monsters. Chores like cleaning their bedroom & picking up their own mess should be taught from an early age .

It's heartwarming how special the mom felt, and how the kids eyes came open to see the dirt...

Tnis was an excellent show. I actually learned stuff myself. Tip about wet rubber glove on stair for dog hair. It works!!! Thank you! VERY REALISTIC! Great humor between the queen bee and her side kick!! Love them!!

I actually like cleaning, if.....no one comes along minutes later and messes up everything. I just did a major decluttering, but already it's been sabotaged. 😕

That's how I feel! Sadly, I have 2 children and a husband who has dirty projects, plus my neice and nephew live 2 doors down so...my efforts last all of 15 minutes if I'm lucky 😭
Got A laundry problem? STOP BUYING CLOTHES!!!!!
Actually, that will only be part of the solution. 🤓
- Get adequate sized laundry baskets that can contain the laundry (the longer in between every wash, the bigger they need to be)
- Place your baskets where you take off your clothes, and they are easy to get to. Get ones with an easy to open lid, if you don't want to look directly at the laundry. Have a basket close by with handles, that you can dump the laundry into, and transport it to the laundry room.
- Note how often it is realistic for you to do laundry. (some can do it daily, others can't, depending on what access they have to laundry, and their weekly schedule) Work out how much you realistically need to last that amount of time + 1 extra week. (sheets, towels, clothes, underwear)
- Curate your wardrobe, so you love every item in there. Make sure you have the items you need + 1 week extra. Notice if you are actually missing key items, that makes the rest of your wardrobe more functional. (ex. cardigans/layers, pants, accessories, etc.)
- Organize your chosen wardrobe in a way that is easy for you to access, and easy to take out, and easy to put away. Some people hang it, others fold, some just put it in a basket. Whatever works for you, that you are more likely to do.
Of course having too much is a problem - but not having enough, or missing certain items, can also be a problem. ☺

I start cooking my lunch when I was only 9 years old. Simple meal. Not a complicated meal. The complicated meal came with time and experience.
I was raised to keep a clean house. Those kids are lazy. Someone needs to be in charge and since the mom pays the Bill's, guess whose in charge. The mom.😎😎
The home was filthy and so thick with dust, cobwebs and clutter , it's clear that the mother wasn't doing any cleaning either.
It blows my mind that people can live like this

I had to come back & edit this because I just noticed how beautiful the mom's hair is! Imagine if it was like a foot longer! Either way, short or long she has beautiful hair!
The kids were good sports.
I didn't hear the age of the young man. Both kids need to find full time employment and either move out or financially help their Mom. And all of them should deep clean once a week beside the regular daily cleaning like dished etc.
The dogs seem better trained than the kids. I loved the tips she had when ‘How Clean Is Your House’ series. Kim’s ‘cheap and cheerful’ tips are always wonderful.
Thats not the dustiest house SHE's been to !! Them maybe, but not Kim.
The daughter is 18 years old. The daughter is an adult. The daughter can perform all the duties around the dog completely. The dog also would be happier in the clean house. There will no longer be a risk of the dog getting an eyes infection while lying on the carpet.

Starts young you can play games with them when they are young lol I used to sing the Barney song “clean up clean up everybody everywhere “ lol 😂 it’ll be fun for them I have a teen yes he has chores and he does it with no problem 😉 his room trash and keeping his grades up and he’s the best I’m grateful he’s an awesome kid you just have to have structurer no games when they are older until it’s done but don’t overwhelm then you know I’m sure you’ll be a good parent👍🥰

at some point ppl become their own persons. there comes a time when you cant blame your parents for your failings.
@@blah914 they aren't yet living in their own homes, they are partially grown, but their Mother does own responsibility here. If parents don't lean into growing their children into productive adults and have boundaries, this is what you get. Not to say she doesn't have the right to demand the change though, we can always grow and make changes.
I grew up with both parents that worked, my mom being a nurse that did long hours. It was me and 2 older half sisters in the house. We knew, we had chores to do, and we were taught how to do them at a young age. We knew we had to have them done if we wanted free time. I know households are different, I had friends that didn't have to do anything! But this guy, whining and complaining as basically a grown man? lordy! If little kids can do it, you can do it!

Mother's problem is that she does everything instead of her's kids. It is her's mistake. They should be taught from an early age. They will be incompetent adults.

She waited way too long. When they are toddlers they "help" make bed, and one later helps them to make their bed and by age 7 they are making their own bed. They had a step to get their own glasses of water. Toys had shelves and cupboards and when through playing with one it went back onthe shelf and could take another. None of the place looking like a disaster.
This has nothing to do with cleaning. The type of acne the son displays is a symptom of insulin resistance that will lead to diabetes 2. Definitely can be reversed with an eating lifestyle change. However one of the side effects of this will be weight loss and muscle growth. He might not be prepared to be a hunk!
