  • From the remote control to the family cat, the Alexander-Bapties have lost track of everything inside their home… And when it comes to managing the mayhem, Mom is on her own. No one takes responsibility for their stuff… And no one lifts a finger to help out. With a home-based business, busy family schedule, and overwhelming backlog of laundry and collectibles, the mess has become unbearable for all. That’s where domestic diplomats - Kim Woodburn and Mike Chalut - come in. Determined to clean up the mess, they vow to set the family straight, teach Dad and the kids to pitch in, and restore the house to working condition… But can they get the family to work as a team and take responsibility for themselves?

Wow! My mom had me doing laundry and taught me to iron when I was ten! Doing dishes, vacuuming, we were taught it all and expected to chip in. No allowance either. Our allowance was a roof over our. heads and three meals a day!

It’s honestly the mom and dads responsibility to TEACH their kids responsibility. The kids don’t just know how to be tidy on their own. They need to be shown and then the parents need to be consistent to hold
the whole family accountable. My oldest son is 6 and can clean
    better then most adult men.
    No excuses parents.

I do think the little guy might have tried but gave up after not knowing how to tidy up. So daunting when you have so much to go through.

Irresponsible children clearly raised by irresponsible adults. There’s a rule: when your kid is old enough to tear out things, they’re old enough to clean it up. However, the father clearly wants to be part of the kids and doesn’t want to raise his children properly and clearly that’s a generational fail. The teenage girl would have much more interest in paying attention if you turn off the internet and her cell phone that I know she doesn’t pay for.

If the daughter is 15 and the mother moved into the house 17 years before then the husband obviously moved in with her into the house by himself after the marriage.

I don't think so. Once it's tidy, you tend to want to keep it that way and I think the mom will do her part to keep them at it. I would make the friend a regular visitor and get her to get on top of them. She's tough lol.

I don't get how they keep bringing stuff into that place. That would have been one way the mother might have been able to put her foot down + at least with the kids. The father is a problem, though.

I am seeing a trend- everyone thinks mom should do it all. absolutely absurd. My son knew from early on, keep tidy and put stuff away or you are telling me it is junk - so donated or in trash

Sorry but seems like mom had never taken the time to teach her kids how to clean and put things where they belong. Seems like moms the only one who knows where things are.
Her personality is why they treat her the way they do. Shes an enabler acting like a victim.

The thing is that if you keep doing thkngs or complains about your kids work all the time, then you will have to do everythjng forever. Parents think that kids will start doing chores out of pity once they become older, or will start doing it just because. That's such of a lie. Kids have to be taught, have to be demanded and have to learn respect. The father clearly doesn't respect anything, and the mom gives in too much, making everything for the children. Let them suffer a bit, fhs.
