  • I got a lot of questions about the new receiver mounted dirt bike carrier I bought. Figured it would be easier to answer them all with a video. If you're going to go this route, the Switch Hauler is the way to go. This is not a paid review. I bought both of these and jut want to share my experience.
    Check out the Switch Hauler at:

    I was looking at the “orange” one about ten months ago and considered buying it. I didn’t and I’m very grateful. I won’t mention Moto JackRack’s name either. When I was looking at them ten months back they wanted $500 for them. The price now is $650. What a total rip off. $150 increase in less than a year? That way outpaces inflation and they’ve made no changes to the design. Other reviewers have mentioned incomplete parts, parts the unstructured the closing mechanism and of course the tail gate issue. They won’t answer their phone either and won’t provide replacement of defective parts.

    I wish you had made this video before I bought my hauler. It's from the brand you reviewed first, in orange. I went with them because they appeared to be the original, and it was made in USA. This switch hauler you showed appears made in USA. My MJR has issues you didn't run into, mainly the big bolt that holds the rack in the up position didn't line up, forcing me to clearance it. Otherwise, I agree with all the points you added. It's a bear to move and store. You'll want to take it off, so you can get the tailgate down, but it's so heavy and bulky there's nothing to do with it. Also, on my MJR the rear linkage of my bike keeps me from putting the bike in a position that works securely. I've considered modifying the frame, but I might sell it and get this other brand; it looks amazing.

    If you get a 12" hitch extension that goes into your hitch you can get the clearance for your tailgate for the first hauler. They are $20. Also, it doesn't look like the second system allows for a second bike. Nice review!

    • @BrokenEnduro
      @BrokenEnduro  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve run a 12” extension with it on my Jeep and it wobbles quite a bit because the extension doesn’t lock in tight like the bike carrier. My experience with the orange one is that though it claims to carry two bikes, it doesn’t, so neither do. Thanks for watching!

    I looked at these once but decided to haul in the back of the truck. How hard is it to get the bike onto he platform or does it lower enough to be under the bike? I like the set of crutches in the background, always prepared lol!

    • @BrokenEnduro
      @BrokenEnduro  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I have a Decked tool box, so hauling the bike in the truck bed isn’t an option. It depends on how you’re parked. Sometimes I don’t need to lift it at all, other times, it’s a little less than lifting the bike into a stand. Ha! You saw those huh? Hey there, couple questions. Can you use a locking hitch pin, or do you have to use the threaded bolt that comes with the hauler? Does the locking pin to hold the carrier in the loaded and lifted position also thread in? Or is it a bolt with a cotter pin?

    • @BrokenEnduro
      @BrokenEnduro  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The system is designed to use the threaded bolt, it helps with wobble. It also comes with something to lock it onto your hitch if you’re concerned with security. There are actually two threaded locking pins that keep the carrier in the loaded and lifted position. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

    I do a ton of offroading and I see that the bottom of this thing drops 2 inches. That means I'm going to drag the hitch over rocks. Sometimes I drag my hitch receiver when nothing is in it. It's a PITA. This is a nice hitch though. Better than what I am currently using.

    • @BrokenEnduro
