I checked out a few channels that are literally begging for DOF to take their videos off of private and most of them are children (probably not even 10 years of age) who upload their own videos. The rest are very barren accounts that only folllow DOF content, which means they're most likely sock-puppets. That aside, I don't get how children find those videos funny. I know kids can be little shits but Cody has been visibly injured and tortured. Is their fan base nothing but children who have no decent guardians?

"I can't do my work when everyone is talking" That's a legitimate thing. I'm an adult, in college, and I can't focus worth a damn if there are too many people talking. I tried to do homework in a dining hall once and literally got dizzy. It's not just an excuse... Poor kid...

@@jaschanel8063 ODD has more to do with resisting authority and not liking that someone else is in control. It has nothing to do with inability to focus due to sensory overload. Also, I'm sorry, but ODD has become the new ADHD in that any kid who is acting out for any reason is suddenly labeled as having it. That's not to say that it isn't real, I'm sure it is. But maybe in some cases if a kid is resisting authority there's an actual real life reason outside of a disorder with very loose diagnostic criteria. For example a kid who has been abused by an authority figure (such as a parent) may have trouble trusting authority. That isn't a disorder, it's the symptoms of trauma. But again. Regardless it has no effect on his ability to focus. What he said was that he asked the teacher if he could work in the hall so that he could avoid the noise of people talking. That's a reasonable question (obviously depending on phrasing, but the concept is reasonable). Growing up, there were a few people I knew who would occasionally do that. Personally, at his age I didn't need to because I could basically just force myself to hyperfocus on my work and everything else just disappeared. In college I've found it a lot harder and I do actually have to go to quiet places to work. So everyone is affected by sensory input differently.

Danny Buoy - ADHD often runs alongside ODD specifically because those who have ADHD think and process emotional information differently. For some people who have ADHD this difference in development can lead to both hypersensitivity or emotional detachment. I have ADHD myself I am currently receiving treatment for it, but I have been born into a family of drug dealers/addicts, murders, narcissists, psychopaths, and somewhat religious extremists. That combination genetically and environmentally was unhealthy for me and all of my family members. I can’t lay out the whole situation here but I can say that I don’t trust anyone emotionally or physically, I hate being in the presence of large groups of people (like at family gatherings) because I feel like everyone who claims to care about me or support me is lying no matter what (it’s a weird paranoid thing that is fading with time), I still have large gaps in memory that are just gone or blacked out, I have some memories that I only start to remember or that just pop up whenever something similar to that specific memory happens and my mind apparently decides the time is right for some emotional dust to be disturbed, I become defensive when people press on or question my emotions and reactions to stress, I space out when some topics are brought up (hearing without listening or comprehending the words or meaning of the conversation), it continues to be hard to explain or defend my actions because it makes me feel emotionally venerable and that is not something i’m willing to be around people I don’t know are trustworthy, it’s hard to empathize with people due to emotional blocking a defensive mechanism for those who have been subject to constant verbal abuse, it’s hard to experience emotions at all due to an innate fear of being judged or mocked for having normal emotional reactions and on the other hand taking words too seriously or crying for absolutely no reason other than to let out the emotional buildup. These issues are all the result of the extreme bullying at school and neglect at home I experienced when I was young and although i’m working on sorting out my issues and becoming a better person not every kid has the opportunity to get away from those situations. In this way I empathize with Cody and his sister because I know what it’s like to feel so emotional and yet so powerless to stop the verbal and physical barrages. I wouldn’t be surprised if Cody blamed himself for everything, especially considering the way that Cody’s father constantly told Cody that all of the chaos, physical abuse, and mental abuse is Cody’s fault. Cody probably still looked up to his dad to some extent and I wouldn’t doubt that, after a while of hearing his dad say that everything is all his fault, Cody himself would start to believe that and may have blamed himself for all of the actions taken against him. I know this comment seems vague but describing the memories I have of that period of time is difficult even after four years of being out of that bad situation, and I guess the anonymity of a site like this one is the only real reason I feel comfortable with disclosing anything at all.

The fact that the so called “father” threatened his child to sleep in the hallway if he doesn’t put on a shirt he doesn’t want to put on is ridiculous, this is no way of discipline it is just GROWN adults being petty to what looks to be a 6-7 year old. And the behavior toward the child is horrible in general, even the pranks are cruel and usually end up becoming violent due to the dad extending it, such as, brothers bullying, punching, kicking, smacking and even slamming by the dad at some point. I’m truly hoping the mother gets custody of her children bc the way those “parents” yell at the kids is so ridiculous and sad and by the kids expressions it seems like they do it all the time!

Hearing Cody explain how he wants to sit alone so he can do his work without interruption in class, and how his father screams at him and makes him cry because he's trying to be productive is just disturbing. I had to be reviewed in class in 2nd grade like Cody was (I had behavioral issues as well, but it was more childhood depression rather than ODD), and when I got a low score it was because I was trying to do things Cody did that the teacher didn't agree with. But, did my parents make me cry because of it? NO, they told me what I could do better next time so there wouldn't be any problems.
I know this is over a year old, but I hope this man has no custody over his kids anymore. I honestly hope he loses custody of all those kids, the stepmother included, because they are terrible people. Michael may be Cody's dad, but he will never be his father.

Shes also the reason for my anger issues because I learned to just yell back because I didnt want to take it anymore.
So I just started yelling back at her when she yelled at me.

Same. Something helped me and I'm writing to you in the hope that it helps you too. When I was 17 and finally away from them I joined an MMA gym. I flinched a lot and jumped at loud noises and fast movements in the beginning but I stuck with it.I got injured quite a bit, but nothing permanent. I kept at it and eventually not even a fist at eye level made me flinch. I finally made friends. Having confidence in my physical abilities slowly built my mental confidence. Therapy didn't work for me, this did. Loud noises still make me jump, but because of all the practice, people don't move as fast as I thought they did when I was a child and I'm ready. I live a happy, successful life now it's the sweetest revenge.

that part on the stairs made me so angry. this is a child with ADHD, as confirmed by the mother, who is trying to explain to his father why he cant concentrate, and the dad does not comfort him, he does not attempt to help him, instead, he yells at him, tells him it's all his fault and punishes him. all sympathy I still held is gone. this is child abuse

I'm a mother of an ADHD child and before we found a psychologist who specialized in ADHD (He has AADD and has a daughter himself who is ADHD and almost a mirror image to mine, so personal and professional experience), this was EXACTLY how she acted. I heard the "People try to talk to me" so many times. I see my daughter in this boy, with how she used to struggle in school and emotionally while not understanding why it was a problem. This kid needs help and a supportive family who understands his problems, not one that berates him for something he mentally and physically can not control.

Social worker here. I live in Tennessee, but I’m just gonna give some insight as to why children are left in abusive homes. It INFURIATES me and I promise that most social workers disagrees with a lot of laws in place. Myself and other social workers are working to change the laws, but it’s a long process. However, children are often left in abusive situations because the parents are often court ordered to do parenting classes, thus they leave the children in the home on the promise of attending parenting classes. There is also a shortage of good foster homes and shelters for them to go into. The system is broken and the children are the ones who suffer. I hope that one day it can be changed, but as of now preserving the family is the main goal of social services.

"Stop disrespecting me" Are you ACTUALLY shitting a brick on me? If anything YOU'RE disrespecting YOUR 'child' This is utterly insane and fucking heartbreaking. I'm about... idk... 3/5ths?? of the way threw this video and I've had to pause god knows how many times. How do you live with yourself every day doing shit like this?

I feel like the dad actually loves his kids. I really do. But I feel like he just doesn’t understand. (Just to be clear, I am NOT saying he isn’t at fault here. I’m just saying it looks like there’s some kind of really misguided kind of love. I do not have experience with all this so take what I’m saying with a fucking mountain range worth of salt.) The stepmom CLEARLY doesn’t love him, and as a matter of fact she clearly hates him. She is just as much at fault as the dad, but she has motivation that’s WAY different from him. They’re both awful and don’t deserve children. I just feel like they’re both massively fucked up and the dad has a CHANCE to be an ok father who visits his kids and has no custody whatsoever. The stepmom seems like she’s a fucking Disney villain. I hope that Rose got her kids back and I hope that everyone watching this is ok

"I should be downstairs decorating the tree with my family" not our. MY family. He excluded this child from their family by just one word and this just shows the extent of this abuse. If he actually cared for his child, he'd say our family

No, physical abuse can be useful. It shoes who is boss. In that case. But for entertainment is fucked up. I was belted when I was a child. I agree with belting as it makes the child know who's boss but pranks have no meaning which is wrong. For example, say I had a son and he took drugs with friends, then I would belt him so he wouldn't do it again. The pranks are not teaching him anything. You hate being abused but when you turn into an adult you will understand.

Tvelok I am not with this Daddyfromhell guy no I'm just saying violence used for discipline is effective and if done right makes the child respect you. Edit= yes, there is no gain to the parent in that case as it makes the child fear him for no reason.

i came from a home where my mom and dad acted exactly like this and i just feel so bad for the kid. the push-ups. the sentences. the threats. the counting down. the kid is clearly so uncomfortable and hurting so bad. the “setting an example” and humiliating them just for fun. this is abuse.

    Some new stuff about DO5:
    - They have a TikTok, and appears they had another kid who looks 3 or 5 years old now. Only hoping they learned their lesson and leave that kid be, be actual responsible parents for once.
    - Mike is a SoundCloud rapper, so is Jake. I kid you not, they’re even wearing Durags at times. It’s hilarious.
    - Heather and Mike still insisting that they were lied about online and that were wasn’t any abuse.
Like you can debate which parent is worse, but the videos of Cody being thrown around, crying, screaming, his stuff being destroyed (especially a project he made and a card from his mom, leaving him to cry and say his family doesn’t care about him. It broke my heart to see), and the list goes on.
Don’t say it’s “kids being kids”, “boys will be boys”, or “it’s a skit” because there was no line drawn. These kids were being exploited and going through torment and humiliation for clicks, which is not okay.
Hope Cody and Emma are doing better after all this. ❤️
[Edit] Bad news, Mike Martin is back on TH-cam. They have a new channel “The Martin Family”. 😒

Through this whole video I just wanted to go over there and give that boy a hug and tell him I'm so sorry. When I was younger my dad abused me and now as a young adult it still has huge impact on how I am today. Despite any mental disorders and a morbidly disgraceful father, Cody is so strong through it all and just doing his best. I really hope these kids get out of this situation soon and into the care of a different parent and support of therapy/counselling. This just hurts my heart so bad seeing this 'dad' yelling at him for the smallest thing like wearing a shirt.

Wtf? Corporal punishment is a swat on the butt to get a kid's attention immediately when they're doing something dangerous and not listening; throwing a child onto the ground is NOT corporal punishment.

Trace Keene-Latham i agree with punishing your kids cause otherwise you get people like DO5 who think they can get away with everything.
Yelling at a kid for a flipping shirt is not corporal punishment its abuse
Yelling at a kid for misbehaving and then explaining whats wrong after the moment and moving on is not

When I get extremely upset i.e panic attacks, anxiety, and extreme anger, sadness, etc, I start scratching and rubbing my forearm. I don’t know I’m doing it. It’s a involuntary thing. I got bad news from the doctor once and began doing it. They explained it’s a common thing done in response to emotional situations for many people. It’s NOT HEALTHY. Many doctors don’t consider it self harm in the normal sense, because it’s not intentional. You don’t realize you do it. But it’s a sign that something it wrong. Cody does it. Often. Like...fuckin insanely often.
