I'd recommend the original song in the style of Encanto 'Turn It Down' it feels like a song you'd see in the movie and not only a great-sounding song it gives an interesting perspective. Not to mention it has an actress from Encanto play a role.
Yes, the Let it Go line is a Frozen reference. Even better, a snippet of the piano from that song plays when he sings from "let it in". Also, Dolores joins the sisters when singing the line "let's go." She's lost her Gift (cough Curse cough) so this is one of the only times loud noises don't hurt her. So for once, she gets to belt out lyrics instead of doing a whisper rap.
@@forest1605 They all did when the candle was extinguished and didn't get them back until Casita was rebuilt. They even reference it in this song. Luisa: I may not be as strong, but I'm getting wiser. Isabella: Yeah, I need sunlight and fertilizer.
Excellent reaction, minor beef: Cinderella’s dream wasn’t to marry the prince, it was to get out of her abusive household. She even goes so far as to point out that the only freedom she has is in her sleep: “they can’t order me to stop dreaming”. Every day of her life is mandated by her stepmother and stepsisters; she is mentally, emotionally, financially and physically abused throughout the movie. There’s a poignant moment when she reminds Bruno the dog that he can’t fight back against Lucifer no matter how cruel the cat is to him, not if he wants to keep living in the house. It’s a direct reference to her own situation. The hall is her one chance to have a little agency, to get out of the rural, secluded home she’s been trapped in since her father’s untimely death and have a moment for herself, maybe talk to someone who isn’t going to treat her like a tool. She’s given an impossible task to prepare a dress for herself, scrub the whole house and get her step sisters ready to be able to go. Her stepmother sets her up to fail-and she would have, if her kindness toward all creatures great and small hadn’t lead them to help her make the dress. She did everything right and followed her abusers rules, so she should get the night off, right? No. She doesn’t even get this one evening to herself. Her step sisters are encouraged to literally rip the clothes off her back to prevent her from attending-from being seen by others and potentially finding help. This is where the magic comes in and she’s rewarded for her patience and fortitude and she’s allowed what she wanted: time to herself. She goes to the ball, she meets someone, and she spends the whole night with him talking and dancing and enjoying herself. She doesn’t know who he is but it doesn’t matter because he’s treating her like a person; for the first time since her father’s death, she’s seen and treated as a person. It’s important to note that she doesn’t know the person she’s spending the evening with is the prince. She says as much as her explanation for running off at midnight; they were so caught up in having a good night that she didn’t realize the hour and was literally running away. When he asked why she had to rush off, she said as an excuse to prevent him from seeing the spell fall apart, “the prince, I still haven’t met the prince” and ran out of the palace before he could explain. It wasn’t until the royal footmen showed up looking for her that she realized who he was and seized her opportunity to escape. The only person throughout the film who was dreaming of a wedding was the King. He wanted to have grandchildren before he died, so he set up the ball so his son would have to pick someone to marry. Marriage was never Cinderella’s goal, she just wanted to get away from her abusers. We don’t know how much time passed between the slipper fitting and the wedding scene exactly; Cinderella III: a Twist in Time implies that they would have had at least a few days to get to know each other further and also gives us a better ideal of Charming and his father’s personalities. If nothing else, it seems unlikely they’d return Cinderella to her abusers regardless of the marriage. Cinderella didn’t want a prince, she wanted to leave an abusive situation and be treated like a person. The fact that the way happened through a prince was a coincidence, not something she chose. Time goes by and I wonder how many people have actually seen the movie as opposed to just taking what others say at face value and it really disheartens me to see someone who’s only goal was autonomy belittled over and over again instead.
This scene never fails to make me cry😭 If I might suggest a song, I’d highly recommend the True End version of the song Bad End Theater, from a game of the same name. It’s a simple yet lovely tune, if a little melancholic, but I feel you’d enjoy it. Be mindful though that the song contains spoilers for the game itself, so if you do give it a listen, feel free to use my comment as a spoiler warning :)
Could you possibly react to "Nobody Like U" from Pixar's new movie Turning Red. It has amazing 90s/2000's boy band influences and it's the only earworm that was able to get "We Don't Talk About Bruno" out of my head
So happy to see the last of the Encanto songs here! Now that you've seen the movie and reacted to all of the official songs, I'd recommend checking out the Encanto fan song "Turn it Down"- it's a real banger and has the actual actress for Dolores singing it.
This song is my favorite from Encanto. Granted it isn't the best song, but it does call back pretty much every other song so fluently and that's something that amazes me.
Jesus Christ why am I crying? Literally i have seen this movie a hundred times but the part with the crowd and the part at the end make me cry EVERY TIME
Honestly I feel it at the end when you say "more goose bumps... I've just watched this..." I've watched the movie a few times over now at this point and I still cry during most songs so I fully get it lmao
I love how you go into detailed analysis for this song. I cannot recommend enough Thomas Sanders' Trying Too Hard Cover. He really does an amazing job both vocally and visually.
This whole song is gorgeous and the true culmination of the emotional beats of the story. That being the case, my favorite details are when the three sisters are singing together and melodies from "Surface Pressure" and "What Else Can I Do?" chime in for a moment. Truly amazing!
Love your analysis and your in-depth explanations! I know you've reacted to VoicePlay a couple of times, but seeing as this is another Encanto video, I want to suggest their cover of "We don't talk about Bruno" - It has some *amazing* beatboxing, bass and new twists, along with some really funny moments!
yup let it go was a frozen "thing" you even hear 32 or 3 notes from "Let it Go" there, just like in Famili Madrigal , when Abuela sings her parts melody changes to "Dos Orugitas witch is later in movie.
So, don't know if you've actually watched this movie, but I start bawling my eyes out EVERY DAMN TIME the town comes in, cuz the family gave them so much.
Even though it’s the one from the end credits, I’d like to request ‘Colombia Mi Encanto.’ Lynn Manuel Miranda said that it was meant to be a love letter for Colombia 🇨🇴 itself.
I love about this movie is that it shows what happens when you become a cycle breaker and it’s so important to have that because the pressure from everyone is heavy that you’re so scared to fail and to be the one that says you know what I can’t ever be enough and I’m OK with that resonates with you I see myself in every little bit of every part of that family from the attitude of Tia pepa to Louisa being strong and feeling like she has to handle it all to Isabella having to be perfect and the most is Mirabel knowing that I’m not ever going to be enough and it’s understandable and I love it and I love the reactions you doo because you make it so worthwhile watching you react
You should check out “Very Full” from Loki! It’s a completely random song, and Loki sings it while drunk, but it’s also quite beautiful and a subtle message towards the girl he likes!
could you react to the song "the magic of friendship" this song is the one that literally ends the series, it will not be the best but the most emotional (for those who watched the whole series)
One thing I picked up very quickly that apparently not too many other people was that while the let it go is very blatantly from Frozen when the triplets sing were gonna find our way it is less obvious but its sounds like its a song from Moana one of the last songs fromthe Moana soundtrack in fact
Mori Calliope dropped an album! It's called UnAlive, the title track (of the same name) has a 3d music video (and English CC), the second track Q (with another member of Hololive EN) has a music video, and the 4th track Graveyard Shift also has an MV with English CC. It's a super varied album of so many genres, and she sings A TON on it
Hi David, I have watched your videos here and there for quite a while (back when you started covering SU). I do have a question, the number in the top left, what exactly is it meant to represent ?
i really like all of the encanto songs but theres a fan-made song for dolores its called "turn it down" and it matches the vibe that the other encanto songs give like it wouldve been in the movie maybe you could react to it .
I really want you to listen to a metal cover of the sea shanty “Randy Dandy Oh” from Johnathan Young’s Channel. I dont know if you have reacted to him yet but the vocals in this cover are INSANE. There are many other youtubers collaborating too (Annapantsu being one of them, who is my personal favorite 🤩)
Can you react to songs made by the band Ho-kago tea time? I’d recommend Cagayake Girls the 1st opening of the anime they were originally from, Fuwa fuwa time (fluffy fluffy time) their first (and probably most popular) song and Tenshi ni fureta yo! (Touched by an angel) my favorite song of theirs that was made for the youngest member when the other 3 had to leave their high school for college while the youngest still had a year of high school left and is one of the only two where their keyboardist sings and the only where their drummer sings.
Disney been doing not always married right away. Look at Aladdin they didn't get married til movie 3. And Tangled it ended with saying they didn't get married until much later
*i don't know of you have heard of this song called instruments if cyanide from bendy and the ink machine if you haven't you should check it out the song is absolutely powerful and beautiful*
Love the videos of the encanto songs, could you maybe react to the main song of Disney’s turning red next? The final ritual song in the movie that’s a mix of ancient chants and Backstreet Boys music
I like what you said about Cinderella I do wish they would’ve spent more time together before getting married but I don’t think Cindy getting married was the point of the movie to me the movie is more about trying to stay positive during hard times, having hope of something better, and escaping an abusive family structure I don’t think ppl give Cindy enough credit
Ok imma hop on to defend Cinderella a bit here... yeah, she got married to the prince really quick, but it wasn't her "whole thing." She just wanted to go to the ball. She wanted one night away from being a slave in her own home where she could feel pretty and enjoy good food and dancing. She didn't go there intending to try to fall in love with the prince. That just kinda happened.
Day 26: If there is a song that you must listen to, along with the accompanying animation, it has to be We are the Souls by ThePruld. If there is a song that can encompass an entire community it is that song.
