Que lo que Jay ... 3:21 Bro I've missed this videos ,now I'm watching it though , some of these places called beach aren't really looks like beach ...anyway let me keep watching the vid !!
hahaha jay how are you, don't try to deny regarding the beaches in Santo Domingo. I am 67 years old and in my childhood and part of my youth those beaches were open. a hug and thank you for defending my country
There has to be another name that can be attached to those places beside “beaches.” A little sand and a lot of water doesn’t make it a beach. Those would probably be in the category of sandbars.
Ayeee my family is from Haina, it isn’t a bad area. We do have gringo beach but it is now considered very dangerous to get in because of the waves. When I was younger, we could get in but idk what has caused it to become so rough. But gringo beach is fun to hang around
You are absolutely right, there are no beaches in Santo Domingo, these are only a couple of polluted sand banks that maybe way back in the 30’s and 40’s were suitable for swimming
Word to the wise, whenever there is a heavy rain downpour, all the trash in the city is carried down to those small beach areas. Even if they cleaned them up a heavy rainfall would wreck them time and time again.
So true, Santo Domingo has so many other things to offer, a lot Dominicans needs to understand that out there are a lot people that dont like and dont want to go to a beach. As in the past that was the only product that goverment sold in the fairs there are countries with not beaches that also receive millions of visitors, and we have all, so lets take advantage of that and let come urban tourist, beach tourist and mountain tourist.
Playas (Beaches) at Santo Domingo are a no-no for swimming due to the huge pollution coming out from rivers, sewers and people. That said, you missed 2 that I consider worthy of your time. One is through the UASD (State College) Teacher's Association Club, right next to Adrian Tropical, and the other is right behind the Statue of Montesinos, at the east end of the malecón. I'm with you Jay, Santo Domingo doesn't have proper beaches. Thanks again for another great video. Cheers!
I think Santiago has a leg up over Santo Domingo, because at least in Santiago there are good rivers and in Santo Domingo all their rivers are so polluted that nobody in their right mind would go on a trip to take a shower in the Osama.
I knew all these spots were here but knew they weren't worth mentioning because no one comes to Santo Domingo for a beach. I made the video to prove my point😅
I don’t change the beautiful rivers of Santiago and La Vega for any of those so call playa in the capital. People in Santo Domingo really think they got beaches.
You are 100% right . I live in a Caribbean island ( st.thomas )with some assume beaches . I go to D.R to enjoy there river and nice restaurants. Good cigar lounge.
i am in SD all the time and just because it has sand does not make it a beach. Punta Torrecillas is maybe the only thing close to a beach when it is cleaned up. just drive to Boca/ juan d or the others. they are not that far or hit the river instead
You are correct, those are just for the people that live there to enjoy and hang out. But spending my money and traveling there I would rather have something with plenty sand and trees 🌴 🌴🌴🌴!
The best beaches in the area are in Boca chica at the 3 restaurants beautiful water white sands but they are private beaches belonging to those restaurants

San Andres (next to Boca Chica) is also one but that’s more considered exclusive to the Marina and Restaurants in that area

As Dominican, those areas are called "Sea Coastline", --> "La orilla del Mar"
You drive in Santo Domingo? You got balls of steel.
All the time. This was on a Sunday which is a lot less hectic.
