Yes, that's the King! He gave his all. Over a billion were watching in 36 countries! That's an amazing performance and it was the first worldwide live show . Elvis did everything first.
I am one of the luckiest people alive!! I actually got to watch Elvis perform LIVE!! When he sang American Trilogy the house came down!! I'll NEVER forget that experience!!🥰😘
Elvis entered to 2001 A Space Odyssey and CC rider...WOW! The rumble in the arena was deafening to say the least. I was also amazed at JD Sumner's bass vocals. Elvis actually had him show us his lowest voice. It sounded actually like it had to be a malfunction. It was that low!! I fought my way to the front of where I was behind the stage area and was rewarded with a scarf from Elvis. It is aqua blue and yes, I still have it almost 46 years later! I was 14 y/o at the time and grown women were trying to take it from me. I made my way back to my seat, but could never get back up front again! Every song he sang, he made you think he was singing just to you. American Trilogy was the one that everyone went CRAZY for though!! That September evening of 1976 was none other than amazing and still to this day it is hard for me to believe he left us 💔 11 months later!! He will always be "my Elvis" to me!! As a young girl, that was what I called him...mine!!
@@vickybrackin7483 WOW Vicky! I too saw him live it was July 1976! I didn't get a scarf but my brother got me right up the the stage and lifted me up on his shoulders. I was 20 years old and he had to grab my legs or I would have shaken right off LOL I was close enough though to see those blue blue eyes. It was our bi-centennial in 76 so he did American Trilogy for us too. I remember he was wearing his patriotic jumpsuit, white with bald eagle in red white and blue. He had a song that recently came out called HURT that has a big ending. He sang it and when finished he liked how good it sounded he did just the ending again. I'm sure you feel like I do to be one of the luckiest ppl alive to have seen him in person...a memory I will never forget!

After all this time, i still cry every time i hear that trilogy.. My soul had definitly been touched by this grace Elvis carried with him all along his way. For sure this trilogy about American history resounds in my heart and soul and that it will ever be... I feel grateful to know that Elvis was King and for all the Love he shared with us all over this Earth 🤩Love for all ! 💚
That’s why he’s The King. I still remember the day he died. Such a tragic loss. If you’ve never been to Graceland, you need to put that on your bucket list. ❤️
That was one of the best reactions to this Elvis song I have seen.... because u realized how Elvis focused on his musicians during the song....an Elvis show was not just about Elvis...he loved and respected other peoples abilities and talents...he was always the focal point for the audience but Elvis always made it a collective....he had himself, the TCB band ( drummer, piano, lead guitar, rhythm guitar?) The sweet Inspirations ( black female gospel singers), JD and the Stamps Quartet ( the male backing singers) , Kathy Westmoreland ( a trained opera singer) and a full orchestra with a conductor, on stage when he performed and later in the 70s added another group called voice to the stage..Elvis just loved other singers and other peoples talents which he believed made him and his show an experience.... because to him it wasn't just about him .... unfortunately people like Paul McCartney criticized Elvis because of this and said he should of stuck to his 50s format.... ridiculous when u see a performance like this.... remember this was shown before a world wide audience of eventually a billion or so people...no Auto tune gimmicks...no miming.....no fancy backing dancers and fancy light shows to detract from the vocals...this was Elvis being Elvis...great review ..thx

Elvis is one of the best singers that has ever lived. He was also a fabulous entertainer. There is a reason he is called "The King". He had a great voice & could sing anything whether it was ballads, gospel or rock. He also appeared in a lot of movies. I enjoy watching them even though they were a bit corny, but the music was always great.
An absolutely stunning, incredible, legendary, otherworldly performance by The King. If you didn't get goosebumps or weren't crying watching this one, you're dead. There will never ever be another one like Elvis. The King.
Can't go wrong watching Elvis live this man was so handsome great sense of humor chrasima stage presence looking great in his suits and that voice with so much passion and emotion and the power in it just makes you feel it deep down in your heart and soul never will there ever be a man like this who gave everything he had
I grew up in Little Dixie in Arkansas...just across the river.. When I die...I've told my family I want this song by this man played at my funeral. I want my ashes spread over Dixieland. I loved that land as did my father!!!
Awww, I couldn't be more thrilled that you loved this! Elvis' death is one of those events that everyone remembers where they were, when they heard! I remember when JFK got shot and killed, and I couldn't understand why everybody was cryin' over someone they never met in their life---then, 14 years later, I cried the entire week of Elvis' death, and was glued to every second of his funeral; I still have the newspaper, and other clippings.... Can you say "rabid fan"? I know that you can!! LOL
I know where I was..................working the incoming phones at the Memphis Fire Dept Alarm Office: early afternoon 8/16/1977 Graceland called wanting an ambulance STAT! awhile later when they said they were transporting to Baptist Hosp. on Union Ave...we knew something bad had happened.....the rest WAS history!
Do te 1968 Comeback special (black leather suit) - Trying to get to you. To see more of his goofy personality in the same special - Heartbreak Hotel. He forgets the lyrics and just has an absolute ball… and apologizes for it all. He was a bit rusty as he had been making movies and not live performances. The man just brings a smile to your face.
I’ll just add that many consider it to be about the American Civil War. I’ve always felt that it belongs in what in the old days we called The American Songbook. Songs like America The Beautiful, etc which spoke to our evolution as a country. I guess not many people think about that today.
I have always loved Elvis, the King! What a voice! I was about 11 years old when he first hit the airwaves, and I was hooked from the first listen. He and his incredible voice will live on for centuries!
Delightful reaction. You really see Elvis as I do, I think. Many times as I listen to him sing, I think "He didn't have to be that good." He chose to put his heart and soul into making beautiful music, with his own voice and with those around him.
As you said, there's a reason he's called "The King!". Thank you so much for this video. I grew up listening to Elvis on the radio and watching his movies. Yes, the movies were terrible when I rewatch them now but I sure enjoyed them when I was a kid!
Most of Elvis movies were just so so, but I like 9 of them that were absolutely very entertaining and still watch them with my 2 granddaughters. Heck, I even like a lot of the songs from his movies better than some of his big hits. Give me Elvis songs anyday, don't need any Freddy Mercury or Dimash music.
I think most of his movies were pretty bad, too---but, here's the thing.... One got to look at ELVIS!!! LOL Oh yeah, and one got to listen to him sing!! Did I mention that one got to look at him? Can you tell I'm a girl? LOL
Thank you for this. It does not get better than Elvis! He was an amazing man. I was 13 when he passed. I cried for 2 weeks straight. I saw him live 3 times. He was my very first concert. I still have the ticket stubs.
Thank you for such a reaction. You've described the feelings of many who still love him after all these years. There are so many songs that you could pick to listen to and they would all be amazing.

This year starting in March here in Bendigo Victoria Australia 🇦🇺 there is going to be an exhibition about Elvis Presley and they are actually bringing over some things from Graceland, apparently one of his motorbikes and a Cadillac amongst other things. I can't wait, I've decided to go on my birthday so I have to wait until June 20th but I might get another ticket and go sooner. Love this performance by him, one of my favourite.
You picked the perfect song - which IMO was the crescendo, the peak, the pinnacle of EP's remarkable career. This was the peak moment of the Aloha concert, a time when more people watched EP at that moment then had watched the moon landing!!! At that moment - he was hands down, the most famous person on the planet....
My very favourite singer/songwriter Mickey Newbury is most famous for a song he arranged, but did not write. One night in Los Angeles, at a time of national distress over war and race issues in the U.S.A., Newbury spontaneously combined a southern anthem (written by a northerner, D.D. Emmett), a northern anthem (written by a southerner, William Steffe), and a third song that was originally a Jamaican slave song (All My Sorrows). In the audience that night were many celebrities, Odetta, Kristofferson and Streisand among them. The trio of songs brought tears to Odetta's eyes. It came to be called An American Trilogy, and would be adopted by Elvis Presley after Priscilla heard it on her car radio and told Elvis he should listen to it as it was perfect for him, he sang it as the centerpiece of his later concerts. Check Mickey's version out on you tube.
This is Elvis as an ideal American man who loves his birthplace, respects his country's values, and sees the meaning in each of his fellow citizens' lives. He embodies the strength and beauty of America, and he honors the sacrifices and beliefs that forged the country--and we love him for loving us.
Elvis was born in abject poverty in my hometown Tupelo, MS. He was very active in church and loved his mother very much. He was taught southern manners and he was always considerate of and generous to everyone. They moved to Memphis, TN, when he was 14 and it was there he broke into music. He’s the greatest. I’m proud to say I live in the town where Elvis was born. He never forgot where he came from.
Fun fact Elves Grandmothers name was morning white Dove , she was Cherokee Indian! a song of Americas civil war, to secure these words " we believe these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal by their creator" Dixie combined with battle Hym of the republic, Abraham Lincoln's favorite song!🇺🇸🗽🇺🇸
@@LS-mx1ge how does that make not true? Maybe should have said one of Elvis's Grandmother's name was morning white Dove! A Grandmother's a Grandmother?
@@LS-mx1ge he was well aware of his native American history! Even agreed to play mixed race native Americans in his first movie! Wasn't trying to lie about it! Why would I?????
So. Nice to know that about his Maternal grandmother! I saw a photo of the grandparents . His Cherokee Grandfather was tall, handsome and in a American business suit😊
Ive watched a ton of reaction videos to this song. And youre the only one who actually felt the power of this song. Tears, goosebumps yes. Great reaction

I got to see him in concert when I was 13. I cried through every single song. I wore glasses back then. I cried so much my glasses were fogged up. My favorite song ever by Elvis is I can't help falling in love with you. Thank you for not stopping to say something during this presentation. You are awesome. I found you channel when you were almost at 3000 subs. Now look at you. You deserve it. 👏

Thanks Tailor for this video for The 👑Elvis Presley
Nobody sings it like the King!!! Not then not now or ever will!! RIP Elvis we all love ❤️ 😍 💖 you then now and forever!!!!
Nice reaction.
The difference with Elvis’ version that made it so powerful was that he repeated the ‘Glory Glory’ chorus at the end. This was Elvis’ own arrangement
I miss Elvis.
Me too.
LA BOMBE DU Siècle 💥💥💥👋👋👍👍🙏🙏🙏
Elvis Presley le roi il restera dans ma mémoire on l'oubliras jamais 👑♥️🇲🇫

😭😭😭😭When I was a little girl, before I could read. I would pick my favorite songs by the color of the label. Elvis was, has,and always be one of my favorite singers. 👏
