A video on how you go about prepping and grading thick cards would be great! I have 5 Dynasty Bangers including a Tatis RPA I want to send out, but am nervous about taking them out of the sealed cases and prepping them. Any help or a video would be greatly appreciated. We shouldn't have to 'guess' between a 9 or a 10. PSA should inform collectors and most importantly its customers on their grading. Otherwise I suspect their practice to be fraudulent.
Reveal videos don't make sense--we deserve to know what we're getting already.
Not that bad of a return, a lot of people will say the grader is being tough, but I will think they are just maintaining a standard. Thanks for sharing!
I love to see your appreciation for significant Topps Now cards. They can be very polarizing with many collectors poo pooing them. But we know the real deal!
Can you look over your Henry Bolte card and confirm that’s the finger print was the only issue. I’m getting back a submission and tow of the cards that I thought were gems got 5’s. Like you gloves worn when cleaning items up. I was thinking to get 5’s the grader had to damaged them. I’ll be getting my submission tomorrow. Also you got me looking for Topanga lol
I sent cards out for the $15 deal and I guess there's a new PSA building in NJ and they're tough graders. I average 70% 10s and got 30% from them. Makes me never want to do a "grading special" again.
I think my grades were fair on most.
How do the cards make it to New Jersey? They only give the address to send cards to California. It be great if you can send them to NJ. For East Coasters anyway.
The way thick cards get graded, I just honestly appreciate them more ungraded in a one-touch if I PC the player. Great cards all around though, and ready for these guys to hit the dirt for real in 3 weeks!
Re: 13:20 'ish - Finger print on your *PSA 5* ! I _literally_ had the same...exact...thing, on my Wemby Prizm EMERGENT card that came back the other day. Like you/many others...I wear gloves & thoroughly wipe down my cards,...to the point where I check...re-check, and _re-re-check_ my cards before I sub 'em. There's absolutely *NO WAY* that I'd miss a _GLARING_ ..."flaw"...like that. WIth the turnaround times @ PSA dropping down _SIGNIFICANTLY_ over the past month or two, it's fairly-certain that they've taken on a batch (how many...??) of new graders. In doing so, I just hope that they aren't gonna' (sorta) compromise their grading standards/integrity....?!? Admittedly,...I've gotten a few cards over my last 2 orders (out of 56 cards, total) that are certainly worth questioning the grades on....?!? Hmmmmm......

From the junk wax era to the junk slab era. Still, I’m like you. I like my cards in slabs whenever possible. I’m a buyer though. I don’t think I have a sharp enough eye to not waste my money.

PSA will slightly damage your cards from time to time. They will also hose you ~25% of the time so that you have to resubmit...because they know many will. Its a horrible company and a 10 is completely arbitrary...
It truly is a shame that their name holds as much weight as it does in the hobby.

Nobody wants to devalue their collection. All these PSA cards from this era are suspect because the poor grading consistency. If they made a cheaper perfect grading system tomorrow , people wouldn't use it to protect the value of their PSA cards.
@@aznation4592because u can triple your money. Example just pulled an Anthony Edward's rookie silver. Raw is 200-300. Same goes for psa 9 psa 10 goes for 800-950.
Prizim silver wembanyama rookie raw 300. Psa 10 900+
And if u grade it with beckett and get black label perfect 10s that wemby silver goes for 3k+
You grade to resell and protect your cards plus it looks great. Just repurchased a Psa account for 200 for the year.
I've submitted lots of cards never have they returned any card ungraded only once I submitted the card info wrong and they up charged me which I agreed and it was my mistake. From raw to psa 9 to psa 10 the price difference to sell is insane and you can maximize your profits way more. I have about 250+ cards I still need to grade
Those are all great cards! I think I'm in a different mindset when it comes to grading, but I understand why others don't usually do this. But when I have an autograph card, I want the auto graded as well or it just seems like an incomplete graded card. The fact I'm going on month FOUR and still in grading, I get it! I 100% get it plus I'm usually just grading cards for my own personal collection, so I want things done very meticulously. If you are just grading a card to sell ASAP, I know why others don't get the Auto graded. I just don't understand why PSA takes so much longer for Auto grade service when other companies, specifically SGC can grade the Auto same time length as other cards. I love seeing that 10/9.5 or 10/10 on my SGC auto cards. They won't list an Auto grade if not a 10 and that is perfectly fine as anything less than a 10 auto deducts from the card. I've been seeing more and more SGC autographed cards not getting a 10. I predominantly just collect Nolan Ryan cards and he always has a great auto, so usually no issues with my cards.
Topanga auto is a really big card. Just checked eBay sales and they look very strong on ones that are not as rare as your /5. Very cool.
I sent 4 Topps Inception in all came back a 9. Glad I saw this video makes me feel better about them now.
On the 5 check it for a back wrinkle those are tough to spot

Wow. Allot of nice stuff there. As a Whitesox fan the Lubob was my favorite, and even the Colas first base was sweet. Will look for it in the store. Thanks for sharing

i have a quality control issue with PSA right now about a thick inception card 2018 Rafael Devers (RC) and it came back like it was in a penny sleeve and there was a wave going through it,same with a jeremy pana Capstone New Age it had a wave going through it,so they're looking into it..horrible how they made it through " Quality Control "

I never understood the feasibility of grading a 1/1. Whatever it comes back as, it's always going to be a POP 1. Unless it's just to have a holder for it.

Ive had some bad luck with topps now cards, including getting some back as miscut / minsize etc.. I have been really confused by my latest returns as well. You would think I would get better over time but my gem rate is down. They probably dropped the colas down to a 7 because of all the dirt on the base 🤣 Nice return.

The simple fact that you have to ask "why?" when there are other companies that will actually tell you why, is everything wrong with the grading experience.

Dumb question. I noticed you only did card grade and not auto. I’m new to submitting to PSA and I submitted all with auto and card grade. Was that dumb? Seeing if auto was packed pulled and authentication is this on the card it’s not worth grading the auto? I feel like I spent extra money when I should have just got the auto cards graded. Thoughts? Thanks.

My Carroll USA got a 7 ... did you grade the card or just the auto?... his auto is done with ball point pen and indented the card
Just the card. I don't grade the autos.

Mine was perfect corners, surface, centering but a 7

Unfortunately, PSA, in the last 7 or so months, has been damaging people's cards by probably dropping them on the floor. This has also been happening with high valued cards
How do you know that?
There have been so many people taking before and after photos/ videos of cards being sent off to PSA, and since PSA did the major hiring event to get rid of the back log. People cards have been commonly been getting damaged on like the corners that align pretty close with cards being dropped on tables or corners

PSA needs to work on their quality- 25$ to grade a modern card at “5$” only produces fake value.

That's just one reason why I don't like PSA. They damage your card and then grade you down for their mistakes. You don't see this with SGC. Too bad SGC is just a sister company of PSA now 😞

PSA is a load of nonsense and depending on the random 3mo experience grader you get it’s a shot in the dark . BGS and CGC are superior imo
