It should be illegal to put manufactured relic's in any hobby product. People spend their hard earned money on a hobby box just to get a made up bs patch. I always think about what if a kid spent his birthday or chore money on a box just to get a lazy fake patch worth nothing.
It's not that it's worth nothing, it's that those manufactured relics are bad cards in general. Topps needs to get rid of those.

It’s should be illegal to charge any of these crazy prices considering most starting everyday players aren’t collected. They’re slouches apparently. It just shows collectors aren’t really fans of the beautiful old game
I'm always chuckling when I see these "charging this much for this" comments, mostly from Americans, whose country literally introduced the free market model in it's current form, where this is absolutely fine. Topps tells you what are your chances and you can buy but don't have to if you think it's not worth it.
@@vojtechnovacek7776 True, tho the issue really is about competition in the marketplace, i.e monopolies in this case. Topps is just competing with itself. No incentive what so ever to include much value. If you don't like it I guess you just don't collect cards anymore.

I was gonna say if it's /5 then it's probably pretty accurate comp, if it's /25 then it's probably a little high.

Idk man. The Bowman Chrome Red Refractor auto #2/5 auctioned with Goldin on 6/29 for over $14k. I could see a raw in auction going pretty high.
Edit: yes it was a psa 10, but I imagine the raw would go for at least 5k in auction

In terms of value pulled versus money spent and with the chance of hitting a card that could really explode in the future, I would recommend either Topps pro debut or heritage minor league. The pro debut has more autographs, but the heritage minor-league typically looks better. Probably a better value in the pro debut as well. I’ve never bought a pro debut box that I didn’t make a profit on. Especially if you don’t mind holding them until guys start coming up and setting MLB on fire.
