  • Finished the build. What are my overall comments on this kit? Overall, excellent kit, will hopefully be able to run it in the next week or two.

Good informative video! Well done. Would love to see a running-video. Any experience on having a aluminium chassis? X-Ray has that as optional, also with the previous T4-2015 edition. Just run without ARS. It gives some car-stability issues (it is floating to much) on high-speed.

What pinion and spur are u running

Running 64p instead of the kit stock 48p, but going to start at 42t pinion and 104t spur and tweak from there. Final drive I think is around 4.7

+Seth Arnold I was thinking of running it at 6.5 fdr. at 31 and 106 gearing at 13.5t. do you think my gear ratio is ok

Can't say for certain, but seems high. If you're running 13.5 like I am, you should start in the 5.0-5.5 FDR range. That said, I haven't run my car yet, so don't know for certain but it should be pretty close. Start with a small pinion and work your way up until the motor is at or just under 180 degrees F. Don't let the motor get over that temp, or you'll burn it up. You could certainly start where you mentioned, but you're likely going to have to go up in pinion from there, as the car will probably lack top end speed.
Also check out this gear ratio calculator. Punch in any two numbers and it will give you the third needed to make the other two. FYI, the T4 has an internal ratio of 1.9

Seth Arnold so do most guys at the track using 13.5t motors run 5.0-5.5? iff so then i might go for that instead. thanks

+Preauz Alam it will vary per track and conditions. There is a ton of setup info here: www.petitrc.com/index.php?/setupsheet.html/ take a look and find your manufacturer and car and look at the 13.5 setups there. You'll see they vary, but lots of info there to digest.
