Thanks for sharing this. Great video. I was wavering on whether or not to get the kit to save some time, but your video shows how laid back the assembly is. I'll spend that extra $100 on another upgrade and be better off for being familiar with the guts of the KX3. 73!
Outstanding video Tim. Thanks very much for taking the time to show the process in such an informative manner. Even though I have not ordered the kit, but rather the factory assembled unit, your video provides excellent insight into the mechanical layout of the KX3. 73 from Canada, Greg
Perfect timing to view your video. My KX3 just arrived.
Fantastic HAM's equipment!Thanks and 73!
Tim, you encouraged me. thanks
You did a SUPER job
Awesome video. I'm deciding between the KX3 and the Yaesu 817ND....I didn't want to spend a lot of money on the KX3 and didn't think I could build it (Thought it required soldering, etc). Well, thanks to your video I have no doubts I can build this.
Yep, I should have done that for the video. It worked just fine.
Thanks very much for this very clear video. 73.
Excellent video. Think I will get the factory built version.
Great video...thanks for sharing. I would love to get one of these portable Ham Radios. 73's VE3NCV - Canada
Professional - meaning the video !
I was sold on Elecraft --- until I went to get one! The prices were astronomical. I could afford it, but had better use for my money than a pint-size, low-powered rig.
Buy a k3 used.... you won't regret it.
@@radionb3i I have a KX2. similar but smaller. Decent radio but shitty ergonomics, dirt cheap knobs and encoders and more holes in it than a Swiss Cheese. It will be my last US rig ever. Over here, vastly overpriced and not great.
Just didn't think about it for the video shoot. It works just fine.
Excellent Video Tim, Thanks, Hope to get one soon....73 de Dave 2W0DAA
Congratulations!
Wonderful video.

TNX and best 73,s

Very professional. Looking to get one when over in Dayton next year. Noel G4PEW / AC9IK
if you transmit a long time is very hot??? is possible to feed without batteries??? 73' from italy
No smoke test?
Good video. But why didn't you turn it on???
73, KM4JA
why did they stop the K1????
How do I buy this product? Where can I find to buy pro come and Brazil? Hug (73) for all!
Your assembly video doesn't show the assembly.
LOL! I have been hearing all this talk about a "Kit" radio but this has absoutely nothing to do with building a radio, just pluging the boards together. It is cute though :) Back to W1AW hehe!
Much prefer the FT817, The Kx3 is still a be "tinny" for real portable work. Perhaps the kx4 will be a little more developed?
It doesn't get that hot. You can use it with external power using the supplied power cord.
Fine video, OM, but I beg to differ. You are ASSEMBLING a kit NOT building one. You solder components when you build. Get a K2 kit and BUILD that. You will understand.
But good job.
71/72,
Bill, k6whp
No soldering required
Of course we don't know if it even works!

I note you didn't turn it on....
cool but expensive as Kit
Assembly job, not kit.
