Awesome video! Learn how to prevent the masking tape peel! Im pretty new and I have tons of gaia note! Im running to the store today for some alclad aquagloss!!
I have only recently found your videos. VERY GOOD. Sometimes you move TOO fast, and I cannot see your products....BUT one of the BEST product and techniques here! 👍
But he talks about the products in great detail so what I do bro is take the name of the the product I’m interested in and Go to Amazon (there are pics) and job done ✌️😎
Thanks for your videos. You mentioned floor wax, but was waiting for the test. Only aqua gloss. Did you ever test the floor wax as hard with these paints? Thanks.
you use it ( Alclad II Lacquers ALC600 Aqua Gloss Clear ) when i want to order i see this ( Alclad II Lacquers Aqua Gloss 4 Oz ALC 600 ) it’s same and thx 🙏🏼 .. because they not write ( clear )
What looks shinier or more like chrome with Alclad Aqua Gloss; Alclad ALC-107 Chrome, Alclad ALC-105 Polished Aluminium or Alclad ALC-119 Airframe Aluminium?
Thanks for your great videos. Have you tried the Gaia thinners such as Gaianotes 86053 Moderate M (T-07)? Is it a decent alternative to Mr color thinner which I'm finding difficult to find atm locally.
Hi there looking in tu alclad products looking in the chromes ,can it be Applied after with a clear epoxy as i am looking for that reflection for fishing lures ?
I haven't tried an epoxy but it usually only works well with an Acrylic based coating. The company recommends you use their Aqua Gloss which is basically floor polish. It's the only way to preserve the shine of the chrome. I've also used Vallejo Metal Varnish but that also takes away from the chrome look. I'm thinking of trying a 2K clear that I use on my car models. The epoxy will work but I believe it'll take away from the shiny chrome look
@@barbatosrex9473 yes yes did see you using the aqua gloss protector was thinking of getting that protection and then apply the epoxy over ti to withstand the salt water and the big predators ,have see something new Made by Green stuff chrome metal but don’t know either if it will work and keep its mirror effects after the epoxy if you do testing with the epoxy give me a shout very interested in it and thanks for your videos just subscribed yesterday for your good information you give about products
@@barbatosrex9473 Yeah, I think so. .. I have been looking around.. Its a huge bummer because I already have the kit but I had a few broken pieces on a sprue that has all the parts that make up the front suspension so being a perfectionist, it looks like I have to buy a whole new kit... I am starting to notice a lot of places out of stock and/or spiking the price really high..
Hello, so on top of any chrome paint you have to apply Alclad's Aqua Gloss and the chrome is protected? How many coats of Aqua Gloss do you put on? does the chrome not lose the mirror reflection?
I do recommend Aqua Gloss over chrome. It does take away a slight bit of the shine but not that much. If you didn't see the chrome before Aqua Gloss you would never know it was on it. The spoons in this test was one coat and that should be enough.
I have real automotive 2K Gloss and Matte here. It works awesome on my car kits but I will try it on the chrome. But the second you put any type of clear over chrome you loose that true chrome look. For my black base I use Alclad Gloss Black Base
Hey again Barbatos! I was wondering something. I just finished the MG freedom 2.0 I told you I was painting, and i was wondering if you had maybe an email I could send some images of the final product to you. I'd love to be able to show you, because you've taught me a lot of stuff I got to use in this paint job. (This is my first actual repaint, so i didn't do any scribing or kit-bashing. The fisst kit i did was a candy paint job on just a few parts, and needless to say, doing a candy paint as my first ever paintjob was a terrible idea!) thanks again so much for teaching me everything I know so far!!
I use Chrystal color! It's really cool paint! I've used it both as a light coat to give something a shimmer and I've done a thick coat as its own stand alone color. It's really versitial! I feel like it needs a high thinner ratios though but that might be my own problem. It's definitely one of those paints that has different properties depending on the base color and how much you use. I'm looking forward to you playing with that! I've got a question for you though - is there anyway to tint (with a clear paint of some kind) the mirror metal paints with out ruining the mirror finish? Im fairly new to airbrushing and I'm trying to find a method for this, if possible!
Great idea of tinting the chrome paint. I need to make sure that the clear and the chrome are made up of the same solvents. If so, I will put up a video of it this week.
@@FractalThroughEternity any clear color paints should work, you just have to spray in much much lighter coats. And make sore the paints are thinned enough!!! ( I made the mistake of under thinning mine... )
Awesome video! Time to go back and watch the others. Do you have any tips on spraying the aqua gloss? Are you using the same psi? Same spray distance as the chrome? I've used Alclad a bunch before but never sealed it. I just painted a Mandalorian helmet in chrome and since it'll get handling for filming I want to topcoat it. But I'm terrfied tbh
I use the same PSI, 15 to 20. You can use a 3mm or larger needle. Get a cup of Very Hot water from the faucet just before you start airbrushing and use that to flush the airbrush right after your done. It can't sit too long in the airbrush, you must flush it out right away. Then you can flush it with any airbrush cleaner you have
@@barbatosrex9473 I;ll be sure to bring the hot water along. I keep a bottle of straight water and a bottle of my cleaner mix nearby but I just got this airbrush cleaned after a mix up with some varnish so I don't want to get in that spot again lol
Just started using Alclad, so I'm really greatful for these review videos of yours. They've been a great help!
I completely forgot to tell you this, but I learned that micro-fiber cloth gets rid of the haze on chromes!
I’m also so glad your not overly biased to either company, and your giving true results!
u mean if coat too much chrome and it dulls the sheen, then i use the cloth to rub and it will become shinier again?
@@JusticeKnight exactly!
Hurry up and test those spray paints please. These videos are priceless

Instead of using tape , try using water colour resist. It's great if you want to cover unusual shapes, it's like liquid latex rubber masking tape.
you got to try revell chrome spray + alclad aqua gloss!
Is aqua gloss a sealer that goes over on top of the Chrome paint?
Yes
Good video content...however slowing your movements down when showing comparisons would be an improvement. Thank you.
I've heard that 2k over the aqua-gloss, over the chrome will bring back the reflection. But I have not tried.
Thanks for your videos.
You mentioned floor wax, but was waiting for the test. Only aqua gloss.
Did you ever test the floor wax as hard with these paints? Thanks.
Yes, I did two videos that have the floor gloss in it. One just on the Pledge and one where i test several ear Gloss paints over Alclad Chrome
Can any of these be used on a motorcycle (outdoors)?
Thank you, saved me a lot of $$. Great test
The Humbrol acrylic spray Chrome is very good..best acrylic spray there is

Either the Polished Aluminum or the Airframe. The Airframe is a little darker the the Polished so just choose which shade you want.

I have a couple of Gaia thinners. I have the one for metallics and the one made for Nazca primers.. They're excellent
