The only thing we had left was the gift,but I didnt have enough time to sell it so we left it at the outpost for someone else lucky to find. We do this alot.

Two days ago, my friend and I were at a Fort of Fortune, a galleon shows up and they alliance with us, I know they will betray us, and they do, fortunately, I take the Chest of Fortune and race them to an outpost where I sell it. My friend and I kill all of them and sell all their chests which had 5 ritual skulls in them, our ship sinks but my friend hid on their sail. I return to the fort of fortune and see that the chest of legends is still there, I go back and sell it, and my friend asks “Are you searching for the chest of legends? We already sold it.” And they didn’t say anything, however, when they realized there were no ritual skulls they got mad, extremely mad, and my friend told me that they said very non-friendly words. I return to the island and we start fighting, during the fighting we sail out to the sea, we ruin their ship and then the galleon starts running from us. A galleon running from a sloop, they try to board us but they sucked at it. The last words that came out of their mouths were “You guys f-ing suck!” The people who betrayed us said we sucked. I just stole a reapers bounty off someone’s ship after one cannon balling them by accident. They gave up the chase after 5 minutes. This was my first time even going for it. I had so much adrenaline.
Everyone: Doubloons are useless Also Everyone: *Converts doubloons to gold* Rare: *Produces a whole update making doubloons basically the most important currency besides gold*
Oh I know, so basically it was us (a brig), a gal, and a sloop. we were fighting for that reapers chest but we got sunken by the gal and then it went for the sloop, but Lucky for us we spawned really close to the reapers chest. we came and took down that galleon and almost sunk while doing it, man sea of thieves is crazy.
Today we had a pretty fun experience in open crew with the reapers bounty. Guy just purchased the reaper flag so he can use it later( he did not have it yet) He needs reputation to go from level 8 to 75 to get skeleton curse. I say lets collect the bounty chest! Ok. No reapers at the sea exept one. Our alliance but later they also lovered the reaper flag. I collect it while my mate stole an afk player ship. We turn back. A level 5 reaper from no where is camping at the hideout. I say we need to wait but he needs to go. I say burry the chest and try to distract them. We also hide the map and mark a random island so even if we get invaded no one will know. The lvl5 reapers start to head out to somewhere and then they dissapperad. Still no idea what happended probably server hoppers. We dig up the chest but 2 sloops come at us(1 was the one we stole so they came to take revenge) luckily 2 skeleton galleons distract them while we are getting attack3d by a megalodon. The meg didnt stay for too long. We cashed in. It was a nice hour. After that I gave away our supplies(we had a lot because we stole the hijacked ships crates) to the next person joining the crew. The end: good night.
I remember the first time I got one of these, the moment I took it out of the shipwreck, 10-13 Sirens (basically evil mermaids) were jumping me and my crew, fortunately we killed em all, but once we were on our way to an outpost (at the time I didn’t know it had to be sold at Reapers Hideout) a Shrouded Ghost Megaladon showed up, why everybody want that chest. 💀
At first I wouldn't expect to need doubloons, but well.... I'm joining the battle for reaper's chests. I've been hunting for gifts to unlock the frostbite set for some time. The only thing missing to buy was clothes for pirate. I didn't expect that frostbite outfit would return to the store for doubloons - a no small amount of doubloons. My adventure begins.
The trailer they released for S9 has the people running the reapers chests to Sanctuary, a place you can't sell at. I would guess it's because the beacons aren't visible through the reaper's hideout fog. Pretty big oversight by Rare
Cliff got my into this game again by making it look fun (I quit it 2 weeks later again) but now I'm back again and he made me interested again (I'm probably gonna quit again in 2 weeks)

it's always reapers that take things too far. I know its a pirate game but reapers take it to the next level. Overly aggressive, toxic, rude and have zero consequences for their actions (unless you're skilled enough to win in a fight)
I've actually adopted a hobby in going to Reaper Chest/Bounty ships, grabbing just that chest burying it on an island, and leaving the map on the dock of a seapost. Not in the questboard, on the dock. If I just grabbed the thing, go to reaper, and do a drive-by sale, I probably would have the accommodation done by now....but I just find being able to do this so dumb and entertaining...probably because I only fish in this game I guess..
It's your content that encouraged me to really start diving into this game, as I was an overly cautious player at the start and was very limited in what game content I would engage with. Your general good attitude helped remind me that it's just a game and we should all just try to have fun with it. But I still can't figure out the dang item juggle while swimming 😂

I got a reapers bounty today and it was so funny. I got the bounty along with some other loot. I sold the loot at port merrick and head to the reapers hideout. Some other crew was chasing me and my friend and when we got the hideout i sold it before they could kill me but it was okay becsuse they hsd nothing to take from us
Cliff I am what is known as a doubloon goblin I do everything for doubloons bilge rat stuff aim for some of that and you can get sidetracked to other things like forts and reaper chests you will get tons of doubloons this way
I haven't played SoT since the Megalodon was first introduced, I think. Lately I've been seeing things that make me want to get into it again, but it always seems like it's such a time commitment and it's so easy to lose all progress that I don't know if I can justify it. Looks like fun, though.
