The battle between Runners and Chasers is a tale as old as time. There is no joke I could crack about Running Reapers that hasn't already been made but what I can do.. Is to partake in the chase.
In today's, very special Episode of the Sea of Tales, Welyn, Brandon and I go out to participate in some Season 8 PvP as well as a good ol' fashion Running Reaper chase.

Speaking of running: when my friend and I were playing yesterday we got targeted by a rental sloop. We did at least start off fighting, but it was going nowhere, so when a ramming maneuver from both of our ships sent us on a course *away* from said sloop we decided to take it.
The main reason being: we had a Breath of the Sea on board and I’m still going for the commendation where you need to sell 30 of the damn things. We decided to do a drive by of the nearest outpost to sell it… by which time a gold hoarder emissary had shown up to join the chaos.
After I sold the breath of the sea (and everything else in the collector chest it was in) and got back to the boat, my friend decided to try a boarding play. He managed to get on board, set fire to their ship and kill both of the players on the sloop off just as they killed him.
Once he got back from the ferry we noticed that the gold hoarder sloop had decided to go after the sloop that had been chasing us. Which gave us the opportunity to turn off all our lights and anchor turn back to the outpost we ran past to sell the combined treasure of a skelly sloop and a treasury without any more troubles.
As an aside, my friend is a freaking *magnet* for the coral bottles. I’ve managed to grab seven breaths of the sea over my time playing (with at least two coming from playing with him). We found *seven* of the damn things yesterday

There is nothing better than practicing pvp , luckly ive been into csgo a lot of hours so my aim is crisp , so eventualy i just had to learn some pvp tricks and movement so i got good quick, but learning to solo sloop, man that was the best, back when there wasn't this pvp thing , i would just go arround and hunt reapers, even solo sloop vs galeons , was super fun

A joke that my buddy and I always make - We do a lot of Athena content, and there's always memes of Athena emissaries avoiding contact at all costs, but he and I attack any and every Reaper we see on the map religiously. Because of this, we always see Reaper's frantically running from us cause apparently aggressive Athena players spook them.

I got most of my gold hoarder rep from pvp and vaults of the ancients but I don't think that's necessarily the fastest way
I've still never once done the Legend of the Veil for Im just not wanting to deal with it as a solo player, have bad enough time just playing casually let alone activating a beacon that says bother me.

Why did welyn stop uploading SOT
so i dont know of a better place to say this, but my dad and i were playing sea of thives, and were being chased by a reaper sloop. we came across a brigatine that just spawned, so i shot myself off, and stole it, went to distract the reapers and the new skelly sloop, and it was just the best because there was no way of planning that, and the brigatine crew must have been so confused, because the moment we sold all our loot, there was a server merge, so i think we angered both crews, and they left. i just had to tell someone.

Had a brig pull up on my friend and I at a fortress after we had just drank each 3 cups of grog waiting for meat to cook. The panic from trying to get back on the ship while the worlds spinnin and your legs do their own thing really gets your adrenaline pumping lol. Fell in the water trying to grab the ladder and killed the first boarder they sent over and that sobered my character up which I thought was hilarious. My buddy was still swerving hard tryna get the anchor up and move the ship. We fought them off almost sinking them but another brig pulls up just as the fight gets good. They start fighting each other and we use the distraction to get a little distance for repairs. Then all of a sudden the cannon shots stop and I see a new flag appear on each mast. They allianced to fight a sloop. So now we using the other near by fort to shoot at them and sea rocks for poon turns to change direction on them and prevent from boarder opportunities. We got krackened right after a redirect allowing them to catch up, and a skeleton galleon pulled up on us as we are escaping the ink. The kracken gave me an idea and we decide to use the environment to our advantage leading them to ashen reaches region hoping a volcano would be our friend. It helped. Giving us enough time to get to morrows and start the tall tale as a final defensive measure. We ended up fighting them in ashen reaches around volcanoes still being pursued by 2 brigs. I’m boarding anchoring and almost killing all 3 till they got wise of it and all pile up on the ladder to shoot. Then they each started to sail far out to our left and right so I had to cannon over rather than sword lunge. But it was hard to get on from that distance plus they were on it by then. It was intense. I’m just going over and tossing fire balls as they said past trying to buy time and occupy their attention on fire duty. When we decided enough was enough and we couldn’t win against 2 brigs we sailed to tribute peak after rattling them through coms in hope they’d follow and sink themselves allowing for us to resupply and potentially fight the other cus we were real low. They followed but peeled off after a bit and lurked the outskirts. The other sailed west and hugged the outskirts trying to box us in, meanwhile we went to bury our chests of tribute and other important goodies. Then we could go back without concern. But by then we didn’t see them, must have lost interest. It was a fun experience even though extremely outmatched and stressful at points. I got stuck in a loading screen from a mermaid for like 4 minutes while they both caught up to my friend and he’s trying to bucket, patch, put fires out, and sail all at once while they are harpooning and gaining on either side. I told him to sail at a sea rock and anchor just before hitting cutting the helm to the side for a 180, they’d have to turn out or crash. Either way they would sail in the direction committed while the sloop can maneuver. I was ready to pull my hair out though, the longest 4 minutes of our lives. THE GAME KNOWS WHAT ITS DOING WHEN IT DOES THAT. 😂 I’m just glad I kept killing them and the few times they got me n I made it to the ferry, they’d be in there waitin to respawn, I’d be like “I’m comin back to kill ya again!👹 prepare yourselves, I’m comin back” and they’d spout some salt 😂. Wasted all of gold rush in the chase but that’s ok I got to test my crew and skills. Been a good while since we sailed the sea of thieves. I say we won by outsmarting them and nearly sinking them both a few times. If they hadnt come to hold each others hands they would have sank. But they also couldnt sink us, nor kill us in 1v1. Even out matched in 3v1 was still shutting it down. Also that kracken was uncalled for rare 😂. Missed this game immensely

Well this feels like something that happened to me like 3 days ago. Me and my friend had completed the ashen event as reapers and then some guys tried to sink us with a sloop but we managed to sink them but then they came back again so we couldn’t sell our loot and we were out of supplies and we were bad at pvp so we couldn’t do anything and they followed us for 2 hours straight until they finally gave up. I get that we were reapers and we should be good at pvp but two hours???
