Gonna be great in 2-3 years time when it's depreciated 60%. I think this will be one of those amazing second buyers cars. Love the looks, performance is wild, interior is nice. Only negative for me is the MG reliability. Those doors are failing the second the warranty expires.
Excellent honest review. Like the front, rear would be perfect without the arrows. Still nice second hand in a few years time. Congrats on the 911, look forward to your video on it 😊
Despite its flaws, I am also glad it exists. It’s a beautiful looking car and anything that kickstarts another segment of vehicle with a battery is very welcome.
Agree. Great review. You buy one NOT to pop to the shops or for your commute, you buy for the fast country road beyond work experience. Probably an amazing buy 1-2 years old?!
On the Heritage vs Chinese owners issue, to be fair to MG, it was designed by the MG's London based design team. Most reviews have criticised the seat height, but your excellent review highlighted issues missed by others. Great review!
I think as you said, it’s a GT not a sports car. So it should be considered in that context - ask it to do GT things not roadster things. I’d love to see some reviews of people driving it to the Alps and see how it is on a long road trip
Saw the Coupé at the NEVO show - that was even more of a looker, to my eyes anyway. Another year or so before they launch it. Be more suited to Irish conditions! Unless, we get more of this fierce mild weather. Congrats on the 911 !
Really good review Nobby and unlike other presentations I’ve watched on your channel Ilm not going to rush out and bought one. The seating position is a killer for me, the poor ride stability, poor placement of two outer screens, cheap plastics, lack of real fast charging and more just put me off. If I had a Pound for every time you compared the car with an MX-5 (or the 911) I'd be a wealthier man. You just can't put those two in the same category as the Cyberstar. For a first attempt and for people who aren't interested in chassis dynamics and indeed the others lack of attention to design. In 3 year and £30kGBP? Hmmm. possibly! Thanks for another honest and informative review. Have you tested the new BMW Z4 M40i 6-speed manual?
GWM Ora / MG4 aren't hitting the depreciation curve as expected, they are a lot higher. Wait for this to be 1-2 years old and just want to pose, it's ideal.
It’s quite a big car from what I hear, but it does look good and yes the rear lights just remind me of those motorway vehicles with those big arrows to tell traffic to change lane. I might get one in a few years when it’s 1/3rd of the price. Cheers Nobby
Great video as always Nobby! Cant wait to see more of the Porsche well done and well wear fella, I expect it to be a very nicely put together example although great content also if it needs a bit of work, win win!
A good review Nobby but I got the feeling you weren't that impressed with the suspension under load on an uneven roed. Surely that is a basic component of any roadster. Best of luck with the Porsche.

Mg finished bottom of the 2024 what car reliability survey and the company finished bottom of the car company section why would you spend your hard earned money with them
Nope ...love the design, all of it...Except that crazy Cyberster name written in longhand script and squeezed into that tiny rear edge, when there's all that space on the lower bumper for c. y. b. e. r. s. t. e. r. Driving dynamics aside, should MX-5 now be aiming for something a bit more aspirational.
@ SAIC Motor is thinking of Europe production, possible candidates for plants being Spain, Czechia, Slovakia or Hungary. The talk for MG’s being built in Europe has been going on for over a year, but the plant location has not been finalised yet.
@@onetwothreefour-s1n Before the definitive tariffs were approved, the candidates were Spain, Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary. The latter two countries were against, so it would be logical for MG to open a factory in either of these countries.
Seems shat to drive and those rear lights 😱 would rather walk which given MGs track record on reliability you would probably end up doing so anyway 😆 good review 👍
The MG 🥷 ninjas will be coming for you now after that review, looks fantastic but just does not live up to its price or MG story 6 out of 10 would that be fair

Put a hard top on it and change the doors to normal car doors and it might sell well in parts of uk and Ireland.
To be fair, the doors do give a sense of occasion...if your into that.

I like the fact that it actually exists unlike Tesla’s new Roadster

Carl Gotham is definitely British, I’ve been in his company and heard him speak 😎

Reliability was never at the forefront of MG's electric offerings.

Great review Knobby, would be interesting for you to get the single motor and see how that compares dynamically to the dual.
i like these doors. easy to wipe down foam bubbles underneath without bending after washing the car.
good point that I don't think anyone else will think of!!

Wouldn't put MG in the same bracket as GWM to be fair to them...

Other than those horrific rear arrows as indicators which is something a 12 year old would design, its stunning!!!!!
Are you saying the battery platform is different thickness under the driver seat than the passenger seat? Hmmmm🤔
not what I said

What’s a better car in terms of enjoyment, the ioniq 5N or this?
Depends whether you enjoy being looked and pointed at or hammering a car into a corner on a fast road

I think MX-5 will always be kept relatively simple and never a million miles away from the NA.
Congratulations on the Porsche, nice MG but it's in the wrong country...
Does the pricing include the 35.3% tariff on SAIC Motor electric cars imported from China in the EU?
Why not just make them in EU then? All the BMW in China is made in China anyways.
@ SAIC Motor is thinking of Europe production, possible candidates for plants being Spain, Czechia, Slovakia or Hungary.
The talk for MG’s being built in Europe has been going on for over a year, but the plant location has not been finalised yet.
@DaveDVideoMaker So now the tariff make sense. Just assemble the cars where they are sold. The Chinese always try to gain the system obviously.
@@DaveDVideoMakerthey will only produce in countries who did NOT support the tariffs. Smart.

Nice front, awful rear.
Agreed, there are better ways to tell people if you're turning right or left without insulting their intelligence.
That’s what my wife said😂
I wouldn’t say awful (the Ioniq 6 wins that race). A bit gimmicky true.
Will never buy a sports car my self but this is £20K more than an MX5.
It's cheaper than a BMW Z4 and way faster. It's also the size of Z4. The mx5 is a way smaller car.
@ yep, the MX5 is 800kg smaller, I suspect that matters for a sports car.

Yes awful tail lamps. I’ve noticed some of the BYD cars appear bouncing along the road too.
Charges too slow and the dash screen layout is a disaster, i'll wait for the Boxster.
Jaguar will stop all vehicle production in 2025 with nothing in the works. Lets hope China buys it and lets the british design it just like this MG..
Wrong, new jaguar EV spotted this week on the open road in testing.
@johnw65uk oooh nice
@@johnw65uk its not a coupe but a Roll royce sized sedan. No coupe or roadster in sight for Jaguar.
Nice looker but we used to call them hairdresser cars
The first "hairdresser" car with 500+ HP 😮
Not in the same league as a lc 500h so
Bar set very high there but no !
Those tail lights are atrocious.
I thought that looks pretty neat ... and then you revealed the rear! Naaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh!
The arrow lights are just like a woman wearing too much jewellery… Less is more

The press gave higher scores than that
