Why do I think on a wet day in the not too distant future I will see one of these in a hedgerow on a country road?
We can only hope
I really like the look of this car, may get one once they’ve depreciated by around 50% in the next two years .
You should make drag race between this car and Tesla model 3
“Look at my door!”😂😂😂
16:27 'look ad my doooooooooorss!' ajajajaj
The bobbing you saw when he took the corner does not bode well. More suspension development required.
The episode where Mat goes full Alan Partridge - "look at my door! My door!!"
I’ll just talk over you. I’m not driving an MG Cyberster, Lynn.
@@mattsanderson haha
He's definitley Alans younger brother
This is what a vegan f type would be. The similarities are pretty big, its a 2 door sports car, the interior has that handle thing, its possible to have one with 340 hp. Then its his vegan cousin because its electric meaning it doesn't have that phenomenal sound and its seats are literally vegan
Forget about a Porsche, I'd never take this over an MX-5 either!
And the EV part isn't the problem, that actually makes it rather unique and it will be great to have more EV sports car, the problem is that it doesn't look very fun, nor well put together for that matter.
For 15k£ less you can get a top spec Miata, and that's gonna make you smile a lot more on the road and on the track both.
I Love it!!! £61,640 and mines on order from MG as we Speak!!!
It'll cost 50k to fix those doors when they break.
Do you keep cars that long
@@kevin-qc7zv it'll break in 3-5. Years😂
@@kevin-qc7zvyou should
Haven't watched yet, but I'll take a wild guess that at some point in the video, Mat will say that brakes in electric cars can feel a bit grabby.
21:19 yeah, pretty slow 3,4 second after your facial reaction. Since WHEN 3.4 seconds is slow ?????? I find every car under 9 seconds quite fast for real world.
Fool had roof down ….. of course slower , I thought this was a car expert show with expert viewers….. apparently not !
It's good to see MG making a sports car again.
It’s just the name. All Chinese crap now.
So happy to see Matt finally wearing grown up watches 😊
we got a sporty MG before GTA VI 🙏
The original MGs were sports cars...
TBF we got sporty convertible MGs in GTA London which was released in 1999 and set in 1969.
the og mgs we are sport cars....
100th anniversary!! Sticking a plastic MG badge on chinese tat does not make it an MG. At least twice the price of a much better MX5. There is a reason nobody else fits scissor doors and its not because they are hard to make. Its because you get sick of waiting for them to open. Ofcourse the lamborghini doors were light but modern doors have to withstand crashes so you cant open them manually. I googled it and the first thing that came up was someone on the MGEV forum who couldn't get into their car! Who in their right mind is going to throw 50k at a chinese EV when for the same money they could get a German sports car?
They didn't exactly make amazing cars when it was British and they went bust. What you on about. Your auto industry is dead. It has a manual open button. You can also charge it if the battery dies.
@@autodigitvlogs your ignorance is astonishing. Try looking up a J2. Just one of the many incredible sports cars they built. And built on trials and endurance races. Your average chinese EV will fail just going to the shops. As for our current automotive industry we make the BEST cars in the world. You may not be able to afford one but nobody with any status would swap a rolls Royce, Bentley, Range Rover or morgan for a cheap chinese piece of crap. And ofcourse 90% of formula 1 cars are designed and built in Britain together with the important components for indy500. And all of the reviews mention waiting for the doors is a pain and none mention a manual option. Wot u talking about?
This is a better way to get a MG. Plastic MG badge also better than the tinplate body made by British football hooligans using a dick.
@@car7productions731 Rolls, Bentley, are German. Range Rover, Indian. There is no indigenous UK motor industry other than racing.
@williampatterson3683 no excuse. Rolls and bentley are made to the same standards in British plants. Jaguar landrover still make the majority of their vehicles in the UK. For the chinese to claim 100 years of heritage in car building is a joke. There is absolutely no link between these dreadful cars and MGs.
Don't insult this car bro i never seen that beautiful car❤️ in this price bracket
If the rear light design came from the UK, perhaps they should leave it to the Chinese next time.
0:01 Guys its an Electric car. Bye
Unfortunately every manufacturer by 2026 will only produce electric cars
I just bought a new MX5 which I’m
Intending to keep as long as I can
Thanks for saving my time not going to even bother watching it
Is it, thanks. I'll have a look then!
@@RobertMackenzie-yn8ig have you looked at the news recently that's not gonna be happening if you think it's gonna happen then you don't know how logistics works

Yes things have changed , but there will be manufacturers that will disappear, because they will be fined £1500 for each petrol car they sell , that bit has not changed
There is a very interesting video from Harry’s garage about manufacturers getting fined for every ICE they sell
I believe by the end of 2025 50% of a dealers sales have to be of a electrified nature . That’s why manufacturers are offing Hybrid
weird that not more cars have wireless charging like in a tesla.. a perfect spot to put your phone and charge at the same time.. And if your really good you put it in a place that you can see your phone and use it for navigation

4,000 lbs is insane for a “sporty” 2 seater roadster
AMG SL are all around 2000kg
Come off it. An M4 CSL (A FCUKING CSL) weighs in at nearly 3700 alone.
Insane and wild , the new darlings of the hyperbole appreciation society.
You know, I actually like it a bunch. It doesn’t look the absolute best, but it is less than essentially everything else in its class.
Anyone seriously calling a model 3 a 'sporty car' has never driven a sporty car. Sports driving is not about straight line speed, it's about driver involvement and fun. A Caterham is a sporty car, even an E39 M5 manual is a sport car, a heavy electric lump with automatic everything and automonous features is not a sporty car.
You clearly have never driven a model 3 performance. Drive one then come back to this comment. It is for sure a sports car. Not my favorite, but it’s literally on par with the bmw m3
@@luludvega
Nowhere near being a sports car and nowhere near being a rival for the M3.
Someone's being watching a certain old video of the M3 vs Model 3 comparison and believing everything they were fed... haven't they?
you literally explained the main issue with Tesla (as a brand)
nobody at Tesla knows sh-t about cars
@@luludvegaclearly you haven't driven any decent cars lmao, your basis for sporty is the Model3 because it's all you know. Teslas are shit heaps
Front porsche ,back of the car volvo 😂🙋♂🙃
I would say the opposite considering how gorgeous modern Volvo is
I have the car but I need the pilot watch you are wearing!
Thank you for a answer!
Bro just walked through a brand new car all over the seats with shoes😭
It's 9k it's not his car
Its ok - its "vegan leather".
Or plastic as its known to none-idiots.
People just hate on everything. Everyone complained when Lotus didn't make a 2dr sportscar, yet when MG does exactly that, they also complain.
You miss the point.
This is Chinese tat that's why
The gear buttons are fixed and therefore excellent, much better than the stupid stubs being used now. IMHO Aston was dead wrong to ditch this system. And you're wrong too Mat.
