I love the use of the word "please" in these cards lol. I also remember having a fake Dark Blade when I was a kid. I also had (and still have) a real one.
I can't stop laughing with the cursing part. Such an amazing interpretation, and so much fun! I now remember how wild it could get when I was a kid and was playing with my brother and cousins with these weird fake cards. Such dear memories.
And such a crazy duel, I can't wait to see another crazy duel like this one hahahah!

I actually work at a local card shop, and about a week ago we found 4 or so fake cards like this. Seriously hilarious how the names and effects are worded.
It was a little weird that Alec was the bottom camera but the blue player in this duel. Other than that, great video!

As a kid my grandparents always got me bootlegged pokemon and yu gi oh card packs for birthdays and christmas. They didn't know any better and I didn't have the heart to tell them not to do it, so i ended up with a huge collection of fake cards XD

13:56 Trell has to tap the land in order to play more stuff. But since it's also a Creature too, it can't tap due to summoning sickness (Ask Alec or the Prof to explain. lol)
Funny enough, Trell knows how to play Magic! But yes that would have been a fun interpretation for this video
The common trend among the fakes seems to be multiplying the original stat by a factor of around ten. It's also mostly poorly translated synonyms, which explains stuff like Wave becoming Ball and similar occurrences. That said, if you do this again you should have your life points be 80k.
This should be made into a whole series of videos, like sending Larry to the bodega to pick cards for everyone, fake yu gi oh house tournament, the possibilities are endless here people :D

Every time they said "paper card", a part of me was expecting them to draw a card with infinite attack or some random effect and place it on their field.
I was wondering why y’all didn’t duel in the last vid, great stuff guys, i think the cams should be adjacent to their field tho to make it easy to know whose doing what , I’m sure y’all have your reasons tho

When I was a kid I had a big stack of fake cards, my favourite was Infinite Master, which used Exodia fan art as an image and just had the words ‘infinite’ printed for both attack and defence.
This is better than our very first fake cards duel. 🥲

You should find blank cards and make a chart with random effects on it and you roll a dice to determine what effect it has from the list. That means you wouldn't know what any card does until after you roll when you play it..

I remeber when this was a big problem a few of the local shops that didnt specialize in games or cards sold these. Me and my friends had to explain how these where fake, they had no clue what the games even was so it was hard for them to understand why these where fake. Had to tell them if it didn't have konami on it it wasn't real.

Hey, do you think you all can do a tournament style video(s) but you have to use your favorite cards, archetype, ect. This would be a tournament full of pure fun. You all being together playing Yu-Gi-Oh with your favorite cards really sounds awesome, at least to me! YOU CAN USE BANNED, LIMITED, ECT. CARDS.

Back in second grade when these cards were going wild we'd assume that cards that have like 25100 is just a misprint and they're supposed to have 2500. We did try to sanity check the cards so if it had 4 stars and the attack was 2500 we'd just say the card is completely wrong and not play it.
Being in second grade and not realizing that everyone was playing with bootleg cards made us create very specific rules. In a way it was a game of "what is this card trying to say". Like for example, paper card would be cards in hand and so on. We tried so hard to make these cards into actual ones.... And we never realized that literally all the cards are fake because nobody ever had original cards. All the cards in stores were fake so us being super young, we thought that those were real and never considered that they could be fake.

This reminds me of the time 10 years ago when I dueled a kid at a weekly tournament and his deck of 60+ cards (kid didn't care about the deck cap) were fake and he legitimately thought they were real until I noticed his cards were extremely off. Like oh I don't know a Gilford the Thunder card that was wood type with 2810 atk that was a normal card and its level either 14 or 6 and it was a off cream color since it's been a literal decade I can't remember the specifics of the others but it did make me slowly track down fake cards to add to me collection of oddities

The first fake card I ever saw was "Summoned Lord Exodia" and its exact effect was "The player of this card is victory" and it had Exodia Necross as the art
I had that exact one - I got it some a pizza joint with those quarter machines

These duels have the exact same vibe the duels in the anime in the first few arcs had:
- Decks have 0 synergy with each other but somehow you always draw the perfect card to answer what your opponent did ✅
- Screw the rules, we just adding random effects and interpretations✅
- The cards make no sense whatsoever or they are just normal beaters✅
