- Here's a Case Ingersoll 448 hydriv garden tractor with a N46 48'' cutting deck that eats belts. The cause is all the sheaves (pulleys) are badly rusted from sitting in a flood for 3 months.
A previous attempt to scrape/file and repaint them failed and now it's time to replace all the pulleys on this deck.

Hello from Calgary,
Found an old 1984 Case 448 in barn.
I thought the belts were 9/16 wide.
Seen it on another video.
If you leave the mule drive on the tractor you can drive forward over the deck which is much easier. Just disengage the lifting arms from the deck and the raise them back up.
can you tell the drive belt size on that mower. my manual don't tell me the size
What did you end up finding out about the idler? Is it suppose to be loose? Mine is the same way
Dakota By looking up the original parts drawing I found this: There should be a carriage bolt coming up through the deck. Top of deck there should be a washer, spacer, idler assembly, washer then locking nut. Mine is currently missing the spacer and just had a regular (non locking) nut.
I'll likely just use a universal spacer when I reassemble but won't know the proper height until I can put on the belt and see where it wants to ride.
You prolly dont give a shit but if you are stoned like me atm you can watch all of the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. Been watching with my girlfriend for the last months :)
@Jaiden Ronin yup, have been watching on instaflixxer for since november myself =)
@@jcwildwood what size is the belt that drives the mower deck from the pto clutch?
