How to fix ps4 Software Update Error Fix (Initialize and reinstall system software)

- Hey guys here goes a video that i hope helps many people out there. It sucks that this happens but i feel that the PS4 us running more quiet and more efficient so I'm glad I did this. This is how to reinstall the system update for the playstation 4 . This is also how to initialize the playstation 4. WARNING THIS WILL DELETE EVERYTHING BUT WILL BE ABLE TO GET EVERYTHING BACK THROUGH PS4 CLOUD FOR YOUR PSN ACCOUNT.
Whats the purpose of this ?
Well the purpose of this is to get your PS4 back to normal. This happens to the PS4 if you were playing the PS4 and it was disconnected from the all or there was a power outage.
What I need?
well you are going to need a computer with internet, a USB with 900MB of free storage for the ps4 update and your cable for the PS4 controller.
STEPS:
1. go to playstation.com
2. go to support on the top right and click on software update and click on the ps4
3. go all the way down to "Perform a New Installation of the System Software"
4. click the tag on that section to download
5. make sure you create 2 folders and name them "UPDATE" and the other one "PS4"
6. drag the download to the "UPDATE" folder and drag the update folder to the "PS4" folder
7. import that folder to the usb
8. make sure you eject the USB correctly
9. go to the Playstation 4 console and plug in the USB
10. connected playstation controller via USB cable to playstation 4
11. turn on ps4 controller
12. follow the steps and click yes to initialize ps4
13. set up ps4 as brand new
14. once like new sign in to your account
15. Download all previous downloads from account cloud
16. go to settings
17. go to "Applications saved data management"
18. go to saved data in online storage
19. put in game that you want to download content for first and click the game to download all content again and repeat for each game - เกม

NOTE : you wil lose unsaved data
*just click on initialize ps4 without inserting the usb that contains the file. It worked for me !*

If you guys are stuck in the loop like I was all you have to do is replace the hard drive, I swapped my old laptop’s hard drive with my ps4 & it worked perfect 👌🏽

instead of doing this whole process just turn off your PlayStation then press the PlayStation button on the console and dont let go of the button until you hear a second beep then it's going to send you to a screen and what you want to do is click on number 6 and that's going to restart your PlayStation like if you first got it but I mean it's the same thing as doing it with a USB and much easier just listen to what he said at the end so you know how to get all your stuff back. (its been almost like 2 years and its awesome seing how much people ive helped, but if you guys want to see a video on how to do this search up "how to factory reset youre ps4" and its a video by a guy called Dimond King.)

Justilhan follow the steps in the video. That’s what I did.
Justilhan get a pen drive, plug it into your computer go on the PlayStation website. Look for the latest update, install it into your pen drive, make 2 folders, one called “update” the other called “ps4. Put the “update” folder inside the “PS4” folder, download the update onto your computer. Put it inside the PS4 folder, put the PS4 folder in the pen drive folder, put the pen drive on the PS4 and it should work. If it doesn’t just do what the guy does in the video.

sometimes it is due to the browser you are using. try using google chrome or even safari, they Initialize it automatically

if your ps4 keep saying cant find update then make sure the update file's name is correct sometimes if you downloaded multiple times it causes the pc to name is (1)(2)(3) and thats what messes it up =detailed explanation. if you download the file multiple times it renames the file to a number format. it should look like this: filename.exe but after multiple downloads you get files like this. filename(1).exe ,filename(2).exe . just delete the (#) part of the file name and then run the ps4 as the video says. glad i could help so many people

I haven't done it just yet but it's kinda funny....I was playing Fallout 4 as well and all of a sudden it said that the saved data was corrupt and that I had to delete the game and reinstall it. So I did that but the ps4 turned off. Now I'm at where u were. I saved a TON on fallout. Is there a space max for the cloud ps4 or did u get absolutely everything back. Thanks man!

I have the same problem with the 4.00 update and i have a acer chromebook and a carimal usb my dad has a windows laptop lika a big one or lets just call it a pc is this enough cause i have this problem to
turn off your ps4 at do it again and again..... and then it should be there (the file is 850mb)

Hello, I am gonna buy a ps4 this weekend and plans to update it using a flash drive, in their website do i choose the "Update using a computer" (the 300mb) or "Perform a New Installation of the System Software" (about 900mb). i'm a little bit confuse with which option i should download. note, this is a new newly bought ps4. Any help would be much appreciated :D

Install on a new hard drive..your old PS4 HD migh be corrupted. Also..like he said..this is sooo important..MAKE SURE YOU EJECT YOUR USB from your computer with right mouse button..before physically removing the USB from your computer...or else your reinstallation file for the PS4 WILL be corrupted. .and won't work on PS4. I formatted the USB FAT32..and I used a 2GB USB flash drive for the 900mb plus file. I was just about to buy a new PS4 before seeing this vid today...and you helped me fix it Wow. Thanks soo much

This just happened to me today. I was able to solve that problem, thanks to this video. This has never happened to me before, and I’ve had my PS4 for four years. For a console that runs pretty good, this whole process is sorta dumb, but I guess it isn’t too bad.

it is happening the same thing to me. i do everything in the correct order but then it says that the version cannot be used.
a few days ago my ps4 crashed and when i started my ps4 back up again i needed to update my software to 4.05. when i finished my update is said that my file was corrupted and when i looked on some forums i saw that most people couldn't fix it so i accepted the fact that i only could could play offline. a few days later (today) i saw this video and i did what he said. i went to www.playstation.com/get-help/system-software/ and downloaded the file on my computer. followed the instructions and i couldn't store my content bc i didn't had the update so i turned my ps4 of holding it for 7 seconds after that i pluged my usb in and after that i held the power button for another 7 seconds. i chose the 3rd option. after that i started to download and it worked for me and this way al my content was on my ps4. so i would advise you doing it this way first bc it worked for me.

You must make the UPDATE folder INSIDE the ps4 folder

log in through computer and get a free trial on ur account either a 2 day or a 14 day(credit card for that one)

The USB cable or drive? If cable, just use a different cable. That’s what happened to me and using a different cable did the trick.
