    Idk a lot of people say they don’t like it but I think it’s pretty cool. It’s not the best RC I’ve ever seen and rc4wd probably could of done better but it’s an RC and when it’s yours it’s awesome. Just have fun and get out there on the trail!

    I love those Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ tires! There may be better strictly rock crawling tires, but just about the best Do It All Tire I've ever used, very close to the Pro-Line Hyrax another great Do It All Tire. Love the channel, can't wait to see what comes up next. Have the Mickey Thompson's on my Traxxas Summit (that is one massive set of tires 3.8" rims, 3"W X 8"T) , and 2.2" Hyrax on my Axial 2000 Jeep Cherokee SCX10 II kit I built!

    I’m really digging this truck, definitely has possibilities. I think the servo arm should be on the right front of the chassis since its right hand drive. I don’t see many people get that right. Same with left hand wiper arms on right hand drive.

    Sweet Yota and it is a class 2 rig! Thank you for showing us how it works out on the rocks. I will be adding this to my RC'S. And thank you Very much RC4WD for giving us a truck that's not a cutout of all the other! I will run this sweet Yota Hilux all over Nova Scotia Canada asap.

    Seems like a really nice Class 2 RTR. The hard body is what sells it for me. I just like hard bodies more so than lexan.

    move the steering rod to the more inboard hole on the servo horn, will give you a little more power and decrease the angle on the arm

    Cant wait for mine to get here! I have a few trx4s and a scx10ii(unimog), had a redcat gen8. Time to try something new, and a hardbody!

    You may be able to turn the aluminum servo horn around and reposition the link on the horn for a better angle.

      There is not room to do so because of the panhard bar mount unfortunately.

    Another trick you can do for the battery is to put heavy duty 3m Velcro strips on the tray and the pack itself , then tie down with the straps too . I used that trick on my tf2 and it’s perfect battery doesn’t budge at all 👍🏻 I use a 5000 mah nimh and get well over 90 mins of run time so can just imagine what a Lipo of the same mah will do . I’ve already been shopping and comparing looking to see what spares from my tf2 might fit the C2x . Looks like it’s gonna be a good Christmas for me 😂

    It is still fairly scale. Plenty of midsize trucks that people have yanked the stock axles out and tossed some fullsize axles under it with big tires.

    After seeing you drive it...you can easily tell the electronic's would be the first thing to go.
    I'd toss that $10 motor in the trash. Way too jumpy.
    Mamba X, Crawlmaster Magnum and a Protek or a Reef's servo would go in there.
    Tires foams look like they need some tuning. Some mods on the 3-link would need modifying to do the motor-drop conversion and I'd probably put a 2-speed in there.

    Nice running video ditching the front bumper was definitely a good call. It’s not a truck for me (most RTR’s aren’t) especially with a $500 price tag it’s got some interesting parts I’d love to have for a custom build it definitely seems like RC4WD put a lot of effort into some parts of this truck then just phoned in the rest I know it’s supposed to be a class 2 rig but I’d put a small tire on it and make it a class 1 and like you said do something more with that bed 👍🏽

    great video brother, the truck looks awesome, i'm a big fan of RC4WD stuff. I do think it is a bit overpriced for what it is and if they release this in kit form i will absolutely buy one, but like i said, $499 compared to other resent release RTR's??? i think i'd rather buy something else and hopefully wait for a kit version. ( RC4WD........hint,hint )

  • @coryswilkens
    @coryswilkens 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I like the the idea of this truck but I think they failed in the execution in the style department. I like the hard body but the bed is simple and boring. A roll bar would have looked good on the existing bed (Honcho). What wheel base is it? Looks like a short wheel base chassis that they slapped a crew cab on. Again, cage work on the back may have made this make sense. In the running video the truck seemed to be on or off the throttle. Was the motor stalling or was that your throttle finger?

    • @johnbasterson7938
      @johnbasterson7938 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Meh. The enduro is boring and plain. An overdrive transmission isn't cool or useful at all. Not when you can tune it better and have more tuning options at the diffs. Also if you are keeping it 100% scale to 1:1 you wouldn't be over driving anyways. That doesn't exist in 1:1 rigs.

  • @thomasgross8289

    It seemed very "jerky" at low end. How much was truck and how much was driver? No barb as I know filming and driving can be a pain.

    Ok I’m hooked was kinda leery about the plastic axles at 1st but like you said most of the other trucks have them too . I have 2 other Rc4wd trucks and love them . I have a tf2 and the desert runner , the tf2 has had some trail time and I loved the leaf sprung attitude to it . The desert runner is totally a shelf queen . This will be my 1st linked truck that has metal links ( had a Honcho rtr and hated it cause of the plastic links ) . As for the front bumper how bout this one . Good looking rig man. I was stoked when Harley designs had it on scale news. A guy can buy a lot of truck for $500, what do you think?, it looks amazing and has unlimited potential but is it worth $500? I've always liked rc4wd stuff but the trail rigs just done perform well enough. So I've always been a first gen scx10 guy. Oh, good cal nixin the bumper, ha. Always dig your videos.

  • @mikecoaker5133
    @mikecoaker5133 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    the d44 axles are terrible..the metal ones are discontinued n fall appart after 2 runs. I hope the plastic is better. there's about 2 n half turns of thread (if that) for the bolt or grub screw that holds the c hub on to the axle tube, on the metal ones and that isn't enough no matter what thread lock you use because there's no thread there they will always rattle loose. there's more thread on scx10. og axles for the c hub and that was never enough either. the metal d44s axles were just over £400 for a set which is absolutely crazy. coulda brought a whole high end truck for that money. they did send me free parts to fix them. I've never run them again. they looked great though, but we're crappy and soooo expensive.

      CAMYOTA R.C. I tend to agree. I would have liked a new body with a hard and Lexan variant. I also feel like the drive shafts should be metal for that price

    • @mikecoaker5133
      @mikecoaker5133 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      rc4wd selling point is after sales support and a great garentee. they have fallen behind big time. plus all there parts are the same as the Chinese unbranded parts...and those parts come out quicker unbranded than they do for rc4wd...and a fraction of the price.

    • @hurtshadow4689
      @hurtshadow4689 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yea they need to do something big. Kinda like Traxxas did for the trx launch

    • @mikecoaker5133
      @mikecoaker5133 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      dont get me wrong there are still up there for me.... I only use rc4wd tires. i still use their body's too. But when it comes to actual rigs I prefer to go custom n build something with many different manufactures parts to make one custom beast. I will always use rc4wd ssd xtra speed and axial parts to build something cool. I've learnt what works and what dosnt what lasts n what brakes. so unless they bring out a new very different and reliable truck I'm not gonna part with money. But I like the look of this truck. it's kinda how I set up my tf2 lwb yota.

    • @hurtshadow4689
      @hurtshadow4689 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m not saying it’s bad, but I agree with you on the rc4wd idea. I love the parts they make. I would sooner but a swb tf2 over this

  • @thedumpydustman6088
    @thedumpydustman6088 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Looks OK I suppose but doesnt look any better on the trail than any other crawler Ive seen. Offended by the lazy design team's just stick a Mojave shell on and a bit of UGLY delrin a new body would have set it apart looks wise at least. Just a TF2 with links is how most are seeing it!🤨

  • @hurtshadow4689
    @hurtshadow4689 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Personally don’t think I’d like a hard body on a class two comp rig.

    • @camyota
      @camyota 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I run class 2 with a hardbody, only thing that holds it back is I didn't build it to comp so I didn't make room for a 3s so it's slow between gates. Other than that it does great.

    • @camyota
      @camyota 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First, and last, comp I ever ran in I would have placed really well but on the last section my servo started browning out and I couldn't get it to run long enough to catch back up. I finished but like 30 minutes after the slowest guy.

    • @hurtshadow4689
      @hurtshadow4689 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ok nice. Where I am the comps are ruled by Lexan bodies. I run a scx10 umg and placed well in the last comp I went too. I think this thing will be a awesome trail rig but, I hope they make a Lexan cab for people who are into that sorta thing.

    I was underwhelmed when they finally released the look of the truck after so much hype. After watching this video, I’m unimpressed with its performance as well. The crew can and short bed are out of proportion and it’s downright unattractive. Have they released the MSRP $ yet?

    • @Aesh-om2sz
      @Aesh-om2sz 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Holy 500 bucks for that ?
      I don't want to hate on RC4WD but you can build a rig that performs just as well or maybe even better and has the same scale points as this ( so Hardbody, good looking axles, etc.. ) for under that.
      So why buy a less performing rig for more when you can build it yourself for less ?

    • @hurtshadow4689
      @hurtshadow4689 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      RC's RC Cars yes I think it’s overpriced too. Rc4wd always has been. I still think you could build a scx or a trx that would crush it for less money
