    Dude… you have become my favourite guitar build channel. I love that fact that you are completely self taught. (Isn’t the internet wonderful?!!)
    Dry humour, self depreciating comments, and sheer honestly with your mistakes(?) (No!learning moments.)
    Love the design, the cause and the coolest of small details. Good luck with the wiring issue. You’ll get that sorted. Would love to hear it.
    Awesome design,

    I love your honesty, humility, willing to admit you've never used burl before because it makes you that much more authentic. I've only assembled basses with off the shelf parts, never made one from scratch, so you have "it". I look forward to seeing the finished product. EDIT : I bet you REALLY understand how to make a great neck now ! Also, I love using threaded inserts. The finished product is stunning. I love the Hippie Sandwich look.

    Beautiful burl guitar. You did a great job. I do like contrasting metallic colors like deep blue and yellow or crimson and green for epoxy resin and wood guitars. Rainbow, not so much. Black does go well with wood, but I like color as well. I like the shape of the guitar as well. Good job!

    Wow, that thing is gorgeous. shit happens on every labor of love that we do. And the more shit happens, the more we learn. I don't woodwork, but I make a lot of mods to guitars that I buy that are in the budget range and improve them with hardware and electronics. Electronics is my strong suit as I worked in that field for over 40 years. I make schematics for every guitar I rewire so if you ever need any help on knowing how to wire something that you have an idea about you can just let me know and I'll be happy to make you a schematic for it with an easy to follow visualization. Always happy to help out another tuber

    Subbed! A 12" jointer planer combo is a nice compromise for those of us that can't fit a 16" battleship in our shops. A low angle jack with a toothed blade (worlds different than your old stanley) makes pretty quick work of the odd flattening project that won't fit on the 12" jointer, and is too rough for the 16" drum sander. There is always a way!
    Also, a second bandsaw set up with a 1/8" blade is the great alternative to a jigsaw.

    • @TheWoodenHobbyist
      @TheWoodenHobbyist  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s my kind of thinking, a whole second bandsaw lol my shop is too small for any of the tools I want, but a man can dream. Thanks!

  • @davidjennings9253
    @davidjennings9253 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    A beautiful job with a great choice of woods. I recommend sorting the bearings in your bench drill as the chuck is not running true ( an easy fix ) and get yourself a 1/4" (6mm) 10 tpi skip tooth bandsaw blade and you will be able to cut out a whole body with one pass, instead of taking all those bites at it. Great job and excellent video, keep up the good work !!!

    • @TheWoodenHobbyist
      @TheWoodenHobbyist  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I definitely need to update my drill press forsure. I purposely do no use a small blade because I hate change blades out on the bandsaw. I keep a resaw king on it because my main use for the bandsaw is resawing and ripping. Also, thanks for the compliments!

      I definitely recommend giving it a try. There are many people who make guitars with only hand tools. Maybe you’ll even create a more efficient process!

    Traditional drum makers in India throw the log into a water well and leave it there for a year before pulling it out, drying it up completely, and then carving up the wood. I think I read somewhere that the Stradivari violins also went through something similar. I wonder if you'd like to try that someday?

    if you use plastic binding it is a lot easier and cleaner. you attach the binding by wicking acetone between the wood and bind. it melts the binding into the wood and the only clean up is waiting for the acetone to dry. then you can usea razor to scrape the binding to size.

      Well, you were just randomly selected to win the guitar template bundle! I hope you live in America so shipping doesn’t kick my butt 😂 either way, you can start that guitar build now. Congrats!! Hit me up on Instagram and we will hash out shipping and such. I learned from my last build that it’s not good to post my email in a comment section.
      To anyone else that was hoping to win, I will have many more giveaways soon! Including this same template bundle.
      And just a heads up, it’s 10:20 PM CST and I need you to reach out within 24 hours or I’ll have to move on to the 2nd place winner!

Wish I could afford one of your guitars. Best Regards and Best Wishes! Subscribed. Thought you were somehow going to work Neil Armstrong’s balls into a guitar :) Whoa! Dat magnet trick! Great build and always good to see mistakes happen, we are all human and it helps us all learn. So many builders love to use long drill bits. This always makes me nervous. With a drop top, I prefer to route the wiring channels in the body before gluing the top on. It makes more sense to my small brain.

    • @TheWoodenHobbyist
      @TheWoodenHobbyist  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TheWoodenHobbyist I'm only on my fifth and sixth build- defo a garage woodworker. I see lots of builders on TH-cam using long drill bits on drop tops, when, for me, that is only increasing the possibility of something going wrong. I make my own body templates and include the wiring channels on them.
