Humza Mirza he didn't have a chance to change anything... he bought a car that was speced and ordered by someone else and was already on its way to the US. It just happened to have enough of what he wanted that he took it... but I'm sure some things were missing, like no red belts.

Take notes kids this is what not to do do a brand new car. Rev it really high before it's broken in 500+km. Rev it really high when it's cold. So basically he's just asking for another engine problem.
Did I miss the explanation on why such a highly engineered car could suffer such a disabling event from driving in heavy rain?...or did you actually drive it through flood height water?

Just my opinion. Why would you give this brand a 2nd chance if it fails you the first time? We are not talking about a vacuum cleaner its a 90k plus car.
C63 is a fairly limited car. A dealership like this isn't going to get much allocation for them. They probably sell 10 or less a year. I live by the largest selling mercedes dealership in the county. They only get like 15 of them a year and they sell out of them quickly.
There is a reason the first one took 3+ months to get.
You should've gotten the optional SNORKEL attachment. LOL just kidding!

If the insurence company allowed you to - You should have waited for the C-class facelift which is just around the corner. That means a new C63 too probably with a slight powerbump and other small cool features like a digital instrument cluster.
Insurance company does not care, they just cut you a cheque for what it is worth (most goes to the bank that financed it) and you do what you want with the money
It already has a digital instrument panel except for the speed and rpm. Those are much nicer being non digital.
They also isn't going to be a facelift for a while. They will make small interior changes in a couple of years like they always do. The car has 503 HP. It doesn't need more power. 503 is more then it needs. It is cool for race start, but when driving you can't floor it for more then 2-3 seconds.

If it wasn't for this channel I wouldn't even know what a C63 is. I had never looked at Mercedes for a pure performance car. And they make so many different models that (if you're not a "car guy") all look mostly alike so I can't even tell when I see one on the streets. They didn't have that wow factor to me but after watching the channel I can now appreciate it for what it is. Seeing Mike get excited about it does something.
I think you should try and have this car blessed on a church or something. Just for good luck.

I think you're going to really love the regular seats since you always mentioned how much you loved the comfortability of the Fusion when you got back in it. Plus, ventilation and the insignia is a HUGE bonus!

Raff Time It wasn't he rain that got him. It was the fact that a car infront of him coming towards him hit a deep puddle of water which created a large wave that hit his car...in other words .. He got hit with a tsunami of a wave by a car in front.. This is more bad luck than anything else Thats why This isn't a warranty issue nothing broke because of an mechanical issue it's was due to weather. Mercedes would honor it if it was just that but anything else falls under insurance. That's like saying a Ferrari should be better engineered so it won't have hail damage, and if it gets caught in a hail storm...and is damaged, FERRARI should warranty it. the car's systems can only handle so much of an influx of water at once. It can filter some out and cope with it, burn it off, etc. But he got bombarded with a large wave of water that's harder for a car, any car, to cope with. That's why you avoid driving through high water or when there's a chance to get a large level of water in the car. That's one of the things I learned when driving you AVOID large puddles because there's always that chance enough water can get into the intake and hydrolock the engine. Regardless, it's not a warranty thing, the car didn't fail because of any mechanical or design flaw it failed because of operator error/"an act of God." Merc designed and built the car, but they're not the ones who allow large sums of water to get thrown in the intake. I mean the car has to have an intake and anywhere it is it risks sucking in water. Avoid puddles. If you driving on the road and you see cars in the oncoming lane splashing up large amounts of water from puddles either movie over to another lane, get off that street, or pull over and wait for the rain to die down. Cars run on fuel and air, they can't run at all on water. If it were many c63s getting hydrolocked like this then it would be recalled... But this isn't the case... This is an incredibly rare and unlucky scenario and would effect almost any car in a similar way.
First mod should be raising the intake. Prevent the inevitable mike!

look at the temperature gauge at 10:20 the engine is in the operating temp already when he revved it
I thought the same thing, but temp was OK when he showed the gauge. It still has the break in period, so he shouldn't have done that.
He also keeps saying the break in period is 1K miles. It is actually 1800. After 1K miles it says you can slowly increase. I never did launch control(race start) or drove over 100 until I get my differential oil change. But I did start putting it into Sport plus after 1K.
+John Lemon break in periods doesnt mean you cant rev it, revving in neutral is easier on the engine compared with sustained highway speed
The black headliner adds so much to the great interior "feeling". Most people don't notice. My current Benz has it and I'll always want it in the future. Enjoy, man, but Arizona would give you waaaay more great driving days!

Just a quick tip with properly breaking in the car... Its HIGHLY recommended to constantly change RPM's instead of keeping it at a constant RPM during the break in period. It will ensure that the engine lasts you a very long time. Love the videos BTW

I'd say try the e63. It's larger and it might just be me but I think it's also more luxurious at the same time

Yeah, still he got a lump sum and the difference of payout and the financing is certainly not driving him into bankruptcy.
The only thing he got back was the 8,000 down payment. The bank he financed with got everything else.
So happy for you. As a fellow PA car guy with $$ taste (C4S currently), I have gone through less dramatic issues and it is a rollercoaster ride of bliss and stress.
I'm an old car guy, too. My heart goes out to you. I agree with you, that everything about the Mercedes C 63 is very cool - looks, performance, fit and finish, features, safety, etc., but what I don't understand, is why anyone would actually buy one. I thought all car guys knew they're essentially the least durable car made. For about the same amount of money, you could've bought a Lexus LS. I now drive a 2014 Honda Accord EX-L was 65,000 miles on it and I've got 65% of the brakes left. That's durability. Anyway, I don't expect you to take my advice, but best to you.
Maybe I should hydro lock my Fusion Sport. Ford can't fix my electrical problem.

As far as the ventilated seats, I've experienced them in both a sedan and an SUV, and its not just MB, they suck in every sedan. It's an amazing experience to anyone who has them in an SUV.

He basically scammed the insurance Company, drove through a 2ft flood on purpose, so he could get a new car with the different specs he wish he'd ordered at the start..... Standard seats, ventilated seats, carbon interior, adaptive headlights, exterior carbon package. What a twat. And he's already revving the engine even before he's left the garage, totally ignoring the "running in" requirement. Mercedes must think he's such a prick.

Looks fantastic in black. Get the illuminated star option done if you don't already have it. I have a black 2011 C300 4 Matic and I put the illuminated star in. One of the best and classiest accessories you can get. Even 2 years on of having it done, many nites I walk backwards from the front end of the car, staring at it.

I had a very similar situation where I had a Fusion Energi that was totaled and I got a replacement that was the exact same car. I call my new one the Franken Fusion... You could always call it the Franken Beast!

Hi AutoVlog glad u liked your ride a second time. I understand u claimed on your insurance cover for the 1st c63. Thats surprising because imho the car was not damaged in an accident and this was more a case of a design defect of the manufacturer. I mean, honestly, it is reasonable to expect that you can drive a car in the rain.
So instead of using up your insurance cover, this should really have been covered in the manufacturers warranty. Unless there was a exclusion clause.....
So i was wondering if you ever explored seeking reimbursement under a standard warranty cover direct from the manufacturer?

I just tuned into your channel as I was reviewing my dream car as well. I only just began in the Mercedes world. I have an 09' C300. It's old but still a good car. My steering locked up and I had to pay $1000.00 to get it fixed. Everyone was saying to me oh Mercedes is crap you should've got a BMW but when you have your heart set on what you want why not get it. I love the fact that you stated you worked very hard to be at the point to get your dream car. I'm hoping I can do the same in my future.
