Lovely no nonsense work with a focus on delivering a professional finish. Always a pleasure. Oh by the way you spoke of a shop in our area that sells used boat parts. If you can, an update on who and where they are is appreciated.
I just did the same thing on my 1968 Hatteras 34. But I used mahogany since I wanted the frame to match the interior. Man what a royal pita it was to make a piece of furniture lol.
this is the perfect project to study for my boat. have a great weekend

Thanks for the construction tips. 😊

Great video Joe. It looks like the screws were countersunk. Did you use 316 or a similar grade?
Indeed Joe. 😁👍Thanks for the comment
A question, what was the surface prep on the boat itself before bonding the hatch opening?
The previous hatch frame was removed 🐙and the opening cut to size and then surface sanded to accept epoxy 🤓
Hatches even used ones have gotten expensive...I plan on removing my Potter 19's forward hatch eventually with something that is securable
😁
I thought you would have extended the sides further down to feather it out further.
Thanks for the comment BBlod🐙but that’s not how we do it
