Final boss in the Super Famicom version of Double Dragon 4 (Also known as The Return of Double Dragon). The final boss sequence has you fight all the bosses in the game before facing the final boss.
One time me and my brother were fighting the final boss, and we figured out that if we knocked someone off their feet, they would never recover as long as we kept punching from both sides, because hitting people while they fall keeps them from landing. So we punched and punched and punched, he was probably dead about halfway through, but we kept going just in case.
Did you know that Duke was actually based on the character terry silver from karate kid 3? Both are evil, martial artist and muscular and both have pony tail
So, I’m 3 months late but apparently they released this on the series x! I just played it solo and my god, I must’ve been terrible as a kid cause I made it through with a couple credits left and got all the achievements. I just find it funny when we beat things as adults, you’re always like “wtf, how did I struggle as a kid” 💀that two hit kick they do, that staggers is so OP lol. Just spam that in 1v1 scenarios for easy defeats.
Ahhh, you gotta love this game. Enemies bounce when they hit the ground. It's like your either fighting on the moon or the floors are trampolines. Than again, I can't account for the top of the semi.
I liked the Japanese version because the hurricane kick hits usually until the guy falls down, and you could catch the boomerane when you threw it instead of having to get outta the way because in the U.S. version it would just freakin' hit you when it came back. Also, if you timed it right, when a bad guy through a knife at you, you could hit it and send it flying back at them to hit them. Awesome game, it was my favorite SNES title.
Why is this boss different from the other final boss? I just recently played this and beat it and it was the blond hair ponytail guy. And some other vids show the same ponytail final boss.
@artfan101 It may already be on the download for 360 and PS3. Look up Revenge of the Wounded Dragon. It's a modern day upgrade to Double Dragon 2, which doesn't include the original game unfortunately. I wish someone would put DD2 up for download at some point in its original form, and why they would remake the game and not offer the original version escapes me.
@artfan101 Most recent Double Dragon game was for the iphone which was more or less a remake of the first 2. Just like DD Advance, except they added female bosses and new music and stages. As for fighting games, they had 2. One based off the crappy movie, which honestly the game wasn't that bad, and Rage of the Dragons which was meant to be a Double Dragon game but couldn't get licensing, but it's still based off our beloved franchise.
weird I hadn't a clue they used the dragon twins theme for double dragon. sounds quite kool though. too bad they have a crossover with river city ransom .
Same (or very similar) theme song as River City Ransom's final boss. Nice. For those of u who don't know, RCR is a classic. I recommend u play the original on NES and not GBA's remake.
All things Japan games have a superior quality. The thing about this game is it could have used a really cool bigger badder stronger boss but didn't. I must get this version i'll look into it. I like the move at 244 you hold him & punish him then throw him lol nice!! Double Dragon 2 should be remade with 2d graphics but todays technology. Longer levels more weapons more bosses more moves way more moves and cooler things in it. Double Dragon needs a huge comeback. It will never tire out. ~DC~
I wonder why in the eur version th spin kick hit only once (the enemy fall on the first hit) I can't grab the arm of the first "boss" neither. Same thing with the chinese guy...
This game should be remade and sold as a digital download to make it more faithful to how the game was originally going to be like. This was the only Double Dragon game I could consistently beat aside from Double Dragon Advance.
First fight scene, Billy vs Ryu, Guile, and a guy from Reservoir Dogs lol. And i hate that clown boss, reminded me of Blanka with that roll attack haha.
Very nice. I only wish the absolute, total complete game would've been released. Even the SFC version wasn't 100 percent what was planned, and there's a Beats of Rage DC homebrew that shows how it would've worked... too bad that version locks up at the end on DC consoles!
If you guys love double dragon you will absolutely enjoy Shank 1 or Shank 2 on PC, 360, or ps 3 !!!! Check out the gameplay on TH-cam and I'm sure you will agree !!
syxx573 Then it must be like ULTRA rare or something. I've been looking for Double Dragon games for SNES for quite some time now. And all I could find off eBay are Super Double Dragon, Battle Toads/Double Dragon, and Double Dragon V.
I must have missed the part where you said it was the same thing as Super Double Dragon. If that's the case, then I suppose there's no need for me to continue my search on eBay for Super Double Dragon 4.
I grew up playing the American version. When I down load this rom I was amazed on how much better it was from the US release. This has a better hurricane kick and final stage.
I wish they would of had more time to refine and polish the fight engine because it really is excellent. DDIV could of been a certified classic alongside DDII but falls just short. It had great ideas that just weren't fully realized.
Yes indeed the best thing about this is the moveset it's very satisfiying to pull off everytime doesn't get old and the overall appeal is there. Streets of Rage series is great but a little bit less focus on martial arts DD series has embeded martial arts roots why I like it it's not just a brawler
This game is so full of almost it's disgusting. So fucking close to making something special. Still a really fun game if you're talking the Japanese version but you can't help but be constantly reminded of all the unrealized potential when playing it. Just a little more time and polish with the fighting engine. So close. So goddamn close.
I love this version just like the first two. So much control over the moves you can execute on the enemies
Double Dragon game developers have loved that hurricane kick since the second one
Did you know that Duke was actually based on the character terry silver from karate kid 3? Both are evil, martial artist and muscular and both have pony tail
Childhood nostalgia❤️
Who knew human bodies bounced so well :-) I love this game.
As someone who loves this game I can honestly say thats one of the more bad ass things ever done on a snes
ひらるはらへりろ
DD had always good music, I mis those musics man☹️
So, I’m 3 months late but apparently they released this on the series x! I just played it solo and my god, I must’ve been terrible as a kid cause I made it through with a couple credits left and got all the achievements. Don't forget to give double dragon advance a try
Holy your fuking good dude lol. I loved this game. I miss games like this.
Amazing, congrats on the gameplay! I also created a Double Dragon series on my channel. Liked!
Ahhh, you gotta love this game. Enemies bounce when they hit the ground. It's like your either fighting on the moon or the floors are trampolines. Than again, I can't account for the top of the semi.
I just thought of this game as I was think of 5.
especially the boss Duke really a good final boss
I liked the Japanese version because the hurricane kick hits usually until the guy falls down, and you could catch the boomerane when you threw it instead of having to get outta the way because in the U.S. version it would just freakin' hit you when it came back. This game was badass =D
@AlphaFirefly the hurricane kick hits a bunch of times in the japanese version plus the story is more fleshed out
Nice game !Most of the bosses in the first 1/3 specially do not seem to attack though does this have to do with the difficulty ?
the ending music is epic
4:02 the clown boss blocks with his stomach even though hes getting kicked to the face hahaha :D
Skills. I've beaten this game only once, but I don't think I was as keen on when to use what attack. Some great resource management going on there.
good work bimmy
we need a company to make sequels to super double dragon i'd buy them sdd best beatem up ever
looooooooool that was sick :)
In the center of the floor is the Tradewest symbol with a black dragon through it?
I got to admit, that's pretty fucking epic! :D
lol like batman and flash.fighting all the bosses before main boss.
Oh, c'mon, it was just a game. We did it as a homage to the very first double dragon. Man, I miss that game.
Legendary
Epic!
*#OldSchool* . 🔥
does anyone know were I can find the DD Collection for P.C. these grames are tight
Why is this boss different from the other final boss? I just recently played this and beat it and it was the blond hair ponytail guy. And some other vids show the same ponytail final boss.
Wait, wait, wait..... spikes in a videogame that DON'T cause horrible pain?!
@artfan101

first double dragon had boss with machine gun also. 2nd arcade game did too i believe.
cool story about you and your bro
@duce8585 i don't think there are difficulty levels in this version but i'm not sure
Yes
this DD is way better than the neon one
well, only one can have the glory
@syxx573
Willy's not in this game. This time around, the Shadow Warriors were led by Duke.
@syxx573 Hey isn't the last bosses name Duke or something like that ?
Yes, it is Duke
attack while jumping always works.
This video has the ponytail guy too.
I was hoping that Shadow Boss appears after all of that.
So who is the chick at 0:23 from? And what anime if she is in one? ^^
@Theicekid91 It's pretty much the strongest move in the game. To not use it is almost suicide due to the gang-ups that normally occur on you.
if you move around them a certain way they won't really attack
Cómo llego a ese final ? O es la versión japonesa la que tiene ese final lo pase varias veces y no consigo sacar el final verdadero que es este.
This entire game is in slow motion.
memories

@DDRUTOU will it play on us console

Billy and Jimmy needed to show up in a Street Fighter game.
and when do we get a new double dragon game????
This was one of the best D&D versions. I wish they would remake this and release it on XBLA or PS3
the music looks not fit on final Boss !
All things Japan games have a superior quality. The thing about this game is it could have used a really cool bigger badder stronger boss but didn't. I must get this version i'll look into it. I like the move at 244 you hold him & punish him then throw him lol nice!!

I wonder why in the eur version th spin kick hit only once (the enemy fall on the first hit)
I can't grab the arm of the first "boss" neither. Same thing with the chinese guy...
Its impossible vs the boss of the gang he have NO HIT, INCREDIBLE
I HOPE THEY GET IN THE ROSTER FOR SM4SH BROS!!!!!!#
darn... I was hoping to hear the credits music. :(
this player really likes the tatsumaki senpuukyaku...
In the Double Dragon lore, that technique has the official name Ryuubi Ranpuu Kyaku/Dragon Tail Chaotic Wind Kick
@shaolinlueb that guy has been already killed in double dragon 2 , its not appear in this sequel
This game should be remade and sold as a digital download to make it more faithful to how the game was originally going to be like. This was the only Double Dragon game I could consistently beat aside from Double Dragon Advance.
There is double dragon neon
And the only one in the series that lets you beat up clowns.
@artfan101
Rage of the Dragons was a NEOGEO street fighter type game. VERY cool!
First fight scene, Billy vs Ryu, Guile, and a guy from Reservoir Dogs lol.
And i hate that clown boss, reminded me of Blanka with that roll attack haha.
They did make a Double Dragon Neo-Geo fighter.
Rage of the Dragons was a kinda sequel.
wheres teh guy with the machine gun?
ah yes you are right :)
Where's the hyper knee?
TATSUMAKI SENPU KYAKU!
RYUUBI RANPUU KYAKU!!
5:01 Billy vs Arnold LOL
Very nice. I only wish the absolute, total complete game would've been released. Even the SFC version wasn't 100 percent what was planned, and there's a Beats of Rage DC homebrew that shows how it would've worked... too bad that version locks up at the end on DC consoles!
I surprise they didn't give billy and jimmy the ability to throw hadokens only tatsumaki senpukyaku but then again capcom would have sue
A Sudamérica llegó como super doble dragón
If you guys love double dragon you will absolutely enjoy Shank 1 or Shank 2 on PC, 360, or ps 3 !!!! Check out the gameplay on TH-cam and I'm sure you will agree !!
@DDRUTOU same here
No es doble dragon 4, es returns of double dragon para snes, vaya toma de pelo que me dieron
Chida la música de fondo
I always thought the guys at 1:45 were kung fu elvises
billy kinda look like chuck noris
Then you should try Double Dragon Advance
I like beat em up games
Hurricane kick breaks this game.
Why was this game only available on Super Famicom and not SNES as well? :(
It's on super Nintendo albiet with some differences
syxx573 Then it must be like ULTRA rare or something. I've been looking for Double Dragon games for SNES for quite some time now. And all I could find off eBay are Super Double Dragon, Battle Toads/Double Dragon, and Double Dragon V.
rsuriyop well like I said, this is they same game as super double dragon on snes with some changes.
I must have missed the part where you said it was the same thing as Super Double Dragon. If that's the case, then I suppose there's no need for me to continue my search on eBay for Super Double Dragon 4.
rsuriyop This game is called The Return of Double Dragon, for SNES.
This is the Japanese Version. I liked it better than the US version
arnold is in Double Dragon 2 Revenge Of Billy and he have military pant
Yes! When I and my bro were kids, we called him Schwarzenegger.
you're thinking of Streets of Rage looooooooooool :)))))
I grew up playing the American version. When I down load this rom I was amazed on how much better it was from the US release. This has a better hurricane kick and final stage.
The bos reminds me of mr. x from Kung fu for nes.
DDIV has the BEST moveset ever in any beat 'em up game, too bad this game has no ending, just credits you beat the boss credits roll that's it.
Your clearly never played Streets of Rage 2 and 3.
I did but imho double dragon is the better game I rank it higher than Final Fight
I'm more surprised they made a DDIV canon to the story of the nes for the PS4. DDII sprites though are used but new moveset.
this is the japanese version and the ending is much cooler
this level is diferent!
This game is so full of almost it's disgusting. So fucking close to making something special. Still a really fun game if you're talking the Japanese version but you can't help but be constantly reminded of all the unrealized potential when playing it. Just a little more time and polish with the fighting engine. So close. So goddamn close.
DUDE! fuckin 2:44 is like jackie chan shit.....
threw I mean. and it's boomerang, not boomeranE...what the heck?
@DDRUTOU i would buy sequels to super double dragon on virtual console
@Persianization yeah, snes emulators
C dommage la music a la fin répétée ils auraient du changer un peu sinon la version japonaise pas mal par rapport a la cartouche européenne
